Neopets has announced the time for their scheduled downtime on The Official Neopets Team Message Board. From Thursday the 15th, 9PM NST to Friday the 16th, 9AM NST Neopets will not be available for anyone.
Let's hope this will help to speed things up!

Attention Neopians! We will be taking Neopets.com offline for a few technical updates to our site databases. Starting 1/15/15 at 9PM and lasting through 1/16/15 around 9AM Pacific Standard Time, the site will be unavailable to all visitors. As mentioned in yesterday's news update, our tech team is working to address recent site performance issues, including reports of lag, increased load times, and subsequent server timeouts. Please keep in mind that scheduled downtime is just part of the larger plan in place to help get the site back up and running at normal speeds.
