We've finished all the calculations and the results are in for our SunnyNeo Altador Cup VI Staff Tournament Finals!  By the end of the tournament, our participating staffers had scored nearly 74,000 goals in Yooyuball, and played over 52,000 games of Shootout Showdown.

Another great Altador Cup tournament has come to a close. The tourney's champions will be crowned when the final standings are revealed on Monday, July 11th. Once the closing ceremony has been held, those who participated in the tournament will receive their trophies and prize points, which they'll be able to spend at the Altador Cup VI Prize Shop's grand opening!

Sadly the judge is keeping the final scores a secret.

It's the last day of the tournament (Day 39) so make the most of it! Today is the day that determines which rank your team will be locked in. Team Altador continue to wrestle Team Moltara for that Seventeenth Place spot! With wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise, things look promising for the Cup hosts. Moltara won Shootout Showdown but they can still try to perform an upset if they really go for it in the final match!



Looks like the next stage (after going crazy with Altador Cup games today) will be waiting for the formal announcements of the final results, declaring the champions of this year's Altador Cup tournament and awaiting the anticipated prize shop in the upcoming week ;). Remember that today is your last day to earn those prize shop points!

Hello, everyone! Happy 4th July for those who celebrate it :). Given that it's really hot today this report will be done before heat stroke sets in xD, so let's hear it for our Day 33 (July 3rd) Altador Cup match report! (Remember that tomorrow is the tournament Bye-Day where no matches are scheduled.)

The first of two clean sweeps today went to Team Darigan Citadel who decided that Team Moltara needed to be tidied up and swept under the statistics rug. I guess that Darigan Citadel didn't enjoy the heat as much as we are with the weather right now! So they had no trouble in putting out Moltara's flames.

Oh to go swimming right now... Team Shenkuu splashed into the deep end yesterday when Team Maraqua had swam laps around the Ninjas. With the Finals just around the corner, there is very little time to change the current standings before the Finals Rounds begin, but more upsets could bob to the surface for the stealthy squads.

Team Tyrannia crumbled the stadium with their persistent wins against Team Brightvale. The prehistoric squad got a support game sweep but the scholars knew a thing or two about music and scaled up a draw in Yooyuball. Rock or rubble? What will the Finals results bring?

Team Kiko Lake basked in the sun of Team Altador, splashing about in the tepid waters to coolly take wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Unfortunately for them, Team Altador's blazing talent was enough to melt all the slushies in their opponent's Slushie Stand, meaning that the Altadorians won Slushie Slinger without a single melted carton of slush.

The moon certainly wasn't waining yesterday but Team Kreludor was certainly winning against Team Faerieland! The Lunar Squad claimed Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise, but the Faerielanders had a bit of faerie magic up their sleeves to make Shootout Showdown another win in their favour.

Team Mystery Island proved that the beach is better than the desert because a nice cool dip in the sea is never too far away. Team Lost Desert created a mirage to fool the Islanders out of a win in Slushie Slinger but Team Mystery Island had enough hydration to secure Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown as their own.

Salty sea spray in the face is a pirate's normal refreshment and it was reinvigorating for Team Krawk Island, which gained them wins in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. Team Haunted Woods kept to the shade and secured wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.

Team Roo Island did not buckle under the heat and took Yooyuball victoriously. Team Terror Mountain had plenty of air conditioning, though, and had the upper-hand with a support game sweep. But regardless of this, I'm sure no one will complain about having ice cream afterwards!

Extreme Potato Counter Dude: Yo, dudes! How's it hangin'? Gnarly. My main guys from Meridell totally mashed some potatoes against Team Virtupets. Yooyuball was a draw, man. A draw... awesome. But with wins in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown, King Skarl was all like... happy and stuff. I mean SKARL, happy? Weird. The Space Station dudes from Team Virtupets stayed in the coldness of deep space and got Make Some Noise. I like Make Some Noise, you get to YELL. YEAH! Anyway, dudes, I'm gonna pass some time by counting Yooyus. Go team!!!!

Yeah, let's make some noise, bro!!! (Not my style? Oh well.) Yes, it's the last day before the Bye-Day, so get those games in! It could make a difference to who your team plays off in the Finals. The VIP Booth will be closed for cleaning tomorrow but we will try to get some comments from passersby about their opinions on the matches.

A bearable temperature! That's good. Well, now the weather report is over with, time for our match report for Day 32 (July 2nd) of the Altador Cup. For some reason we've randomly chosen the theme of the report to be in the form of game analogies *shrugs*:

If you've ever played Ugga Smash you'll know there are four cars that smash each other up in a destruction derby type setting, and a Grarrl that comes along to nom those cars to eliminate them from the game. Think of the four cars as the four Altador Cup games (Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown) and consider that the contenders are Team Tyrannia and Team Moltara. Remember the Grarrl that eats the cars? That was Team Tyrannia in this scenario. It was game over for Team Moltara as Tyrannia left nothing to salvage by sweeping the Moltarans in yesterday's match. Sorry, Moltara, but Tyrannia is not known for paying off the costs of damages.

Team Kreludor certainly Spacerocked! Team Roo Island by winning Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. The Rooligans rolled the Deadly Dice, though, and turned Shootout Showdown into a draw. The problem with throwing rocks or books or other heavy objects at another team only spells trouble, leaving Roo Island with a messed up locker room and an angry manager. Run, Kreludor, run before the lawsuit catches up!

The only Tubular Kiko Racing Team Kiko Lake managed to succeed in was in Make Some Noise. Team Brightvale was the one on shore, firing the arrows to pop the rubber ring as the Kikos hurtled down the rapids at breakneck speeds. Strike one: Brighvale won Yooyuball. Strike two: Brightvale won Slushie Slinger. Strike three: Brightvale won Shootout Showdown and Kiko Lake was left clinging onto driftwood to get them home.

It was a bit like Attack of the Revenge when Team Maraqua went against Team Haunted Woods yesterday... But instead of pirates invading the ships it was the undead. Maraqua managed to fend for themselves by winning Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, but some pesky Halloween Neopians managed to claw their way on deck to take Slushie Slinger. No one expected a spooky inquisition!

It was like the old Invasion of Meridell, but this time with pirates! Team Meridell had to defend their games like never before against the brute force of Team Krawk Island, and got away with draws in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. But never fear, fair knights, because this is a battle you won! Yes, with full reinforcements, the pirates were driven out as the Meridellians won Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise! Huzzah!

But the Darigans were on the ball in Slushie Slinger, enough so to end that in a draw, and no one tries to steal their Orb! In an act of revenge, the Darigans unleashed their last trick-shot and secured the win in Shootout Showdown!

Team Lost Desert was WAY ahead in The Great Desert Race, with two players at the finishing line they won Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. Trailing behind but not without an upstanding Snowball Fight, Team Terror Mountain battled through all the traps and misdirections to win Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Now whoever hid Tomos in the sand had better dig him up or Nabile won't be happy!

Team Altador was absolutely fascinated by the colourful Faerie Bubbles, and that distraction was plenty to secure Team Faerieland a window of opportunity to get those needed wins in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. But once the gladiators had got bored of watching bubbles in the air, they withdrew their secret weapon... an ultimate mop! With a swift Mop 'n' Bop, Team Altador cleansed their way with wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. No muddy pawprints through this stadium!

Princess Terrana: Greetings, fair Neopians! It is an honour to sit here today with King Altador to watch the Altador Cup games. Honestly, you have no idea how long it took me to convince my father (the Emperor of Shenkuu) to let me come here. He will let me risk my life on a mountain but not to watch the most famous sporting event in all of Neopia! It is outrageous. I eventually convinced him that it would be good for our family name if we made an appearance. Anyway, go Team Shenkuu for causing some recent upsets with their opponents! The confusion tactic, I like it! Team Mystery Island was an equal opponent in Yooyuball, gaining a draw most honourably. My homeland's team picked up the pace in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Fabulous work, my friends, show no mercy! Mystery Island's Forward was a little bit quicker than our Captain Grelinek and they won Shootout Showdown in the end. Either way, it was a wonderful match and I thank you for inviting me here. Now, if you want a break from the matches, why not play some Shenkuu Warrior II or Search For Princess Lunara (my sister)? Welcome to Day 32 of the Altador Cup where crazy fans are trying to get in as many games as possible before the end of the Second Round Robin! With upsets and triumphs galore, who wants to miss out? Now for our Day 31 (July 1st) match report.

Team Shenkuu had an excellent day when no amount of magma could stop them from gaining a full clean sweep against Team Moltara. Captain Mirsha Grelinek of Shenkuu was beaming. "Things were grim to begin with but our team bond has never been closer. With morale on the rise, we will prevail, I am incredibly impressed with all our supporters and, of course, my teammates." Team Moltara equally would not be beaten. Mor Gollog, Moltara's goalkeeper, said, "We still need some practice but the tournament isn't over yet! We can do it!"

Team Altador loves those slushies, where there's a Jumbleberry Slushie, there's a keen waitress determined to serve her customers. Altador's Salayne Ritad said, "Our waitress is the best in the land! She cannot be rivalled." Meanwhile, Team Terror Mountain who comes from a land that exports slushies to Altador, got the upper-hand with wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Evrem Guilako from TM said, "Slushies good but winning other games better."

Team Kreludor combed the beach of Team Mystery Island with successful wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Captain Derlyn Fonnet of the Lunar Squad said, "No dancing in the moonlight for those Islanders." Team Mystery Island avoided a sweep by summoning all their might in Shootout Showdown. Bertie Shurtz of the Islanders commented, "You know. It's amazing how one fraction of a second can tell us who the winner of the game is."

Team Meridell thwarted their opponents in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown in a bid to show them who was boss. Their opponents came in the form of Team Kiko Lake. "I like Kiko Lake, don't get me wrong, but they need a lot of work to rise up the ranks," Fiorina of Meridell said sincerely. Kiko Lake had the rowdiest fans who racked up a win in Make Some Noise. Erli Quinnock said, "It's great winning Make Some Noise because the fans are really on your side."

Team Roo Island was overpowered by the pirates of Team Krawk Island yesterday when the pirates gained wins in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger and the Rooligans battled for a draw in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Gordo Gunnels of Roo Island said chirpily, "Ah well. The important thing is that we still had fun." The Krawk Islanders celebrated with an all-night party. "If yeh weren't there, then there wasn't enough room," Captain Garven Hale said with a toothy grin.

Team Darigan Citadel put a dark cloud over Team Tyrannia's successes by winning Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. Kep Bonnefie from DC said, "Sorry, Spikes Barmie, you haven't got the raw skill of the citadel on your side." Team Tyrannia redeemed themselves with wins in Shootout Showdown and Make Some Noise. "Support games are still our forte," Harlis Neyhbol said stoutly. "No one can take that from us!"

Team Haunted Woods would not yield to Team Brightvale's boring speeches of stats and figures and killed their time with Yooyuball, resulting in the win of the game. "Augggghhhh! If I have to listen to one more statistics report I'm gonna dunk my head in Bart's Apple Bobbing barrell and leave it there. I hate stats reports," Fanneti complained in a voice that resounded anguish. His Captain reassured us that he wouldn't let his colleague do that because they don't have the insurance to cover such an event (and his manager added that no one should try that at home either, since it's stupid). The Brightvalians had the majority win with the side game sweep. "Ha, I knew boring the Haunties to death would work," Captain "Squeaky" Tressif laughed.

Team Maraqua has only just come back from a late party to go straight back into their next match. They had right to celebrate because they won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. "Sorry, no time for press comments, we have to play Yooyuball!" Captain Elon Hughlis of Team Maraqua said, looking sleep-deprived. Team Faerieland won Slushie Slinger and had a party of their own. "You know what's being served tonight? Fried fish," Ciona Broan said with a conspiring glint in her eye.

Um... We appear to have misplaced King Jazan from the VIP Booth. He arrived this morning but has since vanished... *eyes a certain fangirl accusingly* Give Jazan back, fangirl. You know who you are... So who better to fill in temporarily than Hanso (the bane of Jazan's existence)?
Hanso: Haha, the publicity is only a good thing. As you know, I'm more than happy to talk about matches. Let's see... Team Lost Desert was against Team Virtupets and alas, Jazan's squad did no good... Well, what do you expect with an uptight guy like him? But the Desert dudes did draw in Slushie Slinger and won Shootout Showdown. So... good for them. But Virtupets had them under their thumbs or robot appendages with wins in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. Good work!

Suddenly King Jazan breaks into the VIP Booth looking frantic.
King Jazan: Am I safe?! *Sees Hanso* IXI, what are you doing here?
Hanso: YOUR report because you wandered off.
King Jazan: I didn't wander off, I was held hostage by a crazy fangirl.
Hanso: I'm sure Tandrak Shaye from Team Darigan Citadel has suffered worse than that.

Hello, happy-go-lucky people! (And a warm welcome to those who are feeling a bit down in the dumps too.) Now back to the chaos of the Altador Cup tournament. Here is our match report for Day 30 (June 30th).

Team Tyrannia certainly brought the house down on Team Faerieland, by rocking so hard in every aspect of the game that they crumbled the very structure of Faerieland's confidence. The prehistoric squad stood tall and victorious with wins in all four games. "Clean sweeps keep the evil shadows away," Wila Benne said sagely. The Faeries were not discouraged, though. "Giving up is never an option. It never has been and never will be," Valtonous Rea said with a die-hard attitude.

Team Kiko Lake could not cause much of an upset against Team Kreludor, but the Lunar Squad did not expect the Kikos to take Shootout Showdown from them! "You could tell the difference in Meelah Kitah after their Yooyuball loss," Zenor Kevix noted to the press. "It was like a fire had lit within, there was no way Qyldae could match the speed of those throws." Team Kiko Lake could not best them in the other games, unfortunately, and Team Kreludor won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Slushie Slinger. Captain "Poke" Cellers said, "We were passionate about the match but Kreludor were the rightful winners in the end. We still have a bit of time left to cause a few upsets this year!"

Team Mystery Island partied all night on the shores of success as they lifted three wins onto their shoulders after yesterday's match against Team Moltara. "Cha, cha, cha! We won!" Lor Benneveldt said happily, shaking some maracas. Indeed they did win! Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown went to the Islandic squad, whereas a slightly more parched Moltara swiped the win in Slushie Slinger. Zax Bannet from Moltara shrugged. "It's a lot of hard work this tournament! I'm still trying to get the hang of the tough schedule."

The only kings and queens of the sky and sea were the pirates in the Team Krawk Island versus Team Altador match. Krawk Island proudly won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. "Let's make this Krawk Island's year again!" Feldon "Dinksy" Collibridge yelled above the roar of the crowd. The Altadorians were not idle and purchased some footing after a win in Slushie Slinger. "I think they lost Slushie Slinger because they don't serve grog," Lyvon Cibaire from Altador said in thought.

The Rooligans and Darigans were in contentions yesterday when neither team would give up the resistance in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. Their clash was so resillient that the Referee declared both games as a Draw. "Who said I was too old to mind the net?" Clutch Billaban of Team Roo Island said with a smirk. The overall win went to the slightly more powerful Team Darigan Citadel, who won Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. "Hey, form an orderly queue!" Tandrak Shaye of the Darigans insisted to his mob of obsessed fans.

The Brightvale scholars had one over the Mountaineers as they wrote off Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown for wins in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. "The focus was awkward but the main game is Yooyuball, and take it we did!" Reb Weemelott of Team Brightvale announced to the press outside of the Coliseum. Team Terror Mountain was at least happy with two out of four wins. "Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown are ours! Now we just need a clean sweep," Rinok Fitel said whilst rummaging around his pockets to hand a packet of throat lozenges to an over-enthusiastic fan.

Team Maraqua caused a short circuit in Team Virtupets' plans by winning Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. "Aw yeah! In your face, space cadets!" Elon "The Black Hole" Hughlis boasted, performing a very weird victory dance. All was not lost for the powerhouse Virtupets squad, because they delivered a can of pain against the Maraquans in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. "When will Elon learn to hold his celebrations until the end of the day?" Sela Pretore asked in bewilderment.

The knights of Team Meridell could not be driven back as Team Lost Desert buckled under the wrath of King Skarl's chosen squad. Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown went to the knights. "JubJubs are far better than Kikos any day," Yoris Obbles said smugly as he held a slight grudge against Rhee Solters for whacking him upside the head with a Fire Yooyu. The Desert Squad fought back with the power of Coltzan behind them, winning Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise in the process. "Leave Rhee alone, you armless scarab!" Derbi Azar complained to the JubJub after the match.

Ghost of Hubrid Nox: Muahahaha! Boo! I am back from the grave looking for Magax to destroy... Whoooooo! Actually, I'm rather peeved at that Xandra Xweetok girl for impersonating me, framing me for a crime I never committed and getting me killed in the process! She got what she deserved, being turned into stone and all that, it's just a bit inconevenient with me being dead, is all. Magax was a bit disappointed that he wasn't the one to destroy me, so I kind of feel sorry for him, but at the same time I expected HIM to be the one to do me in, not some sorceress. Anyway, I wasn't dragged from the Haunted Woods to complain about past misgivings, I am here now to do a match report of all things. Hey, maybe my home team should hire me on the squad? I could zap the opponents with my spectral magic! Muahaha! Oh alright, I'll get on with it... only because I have to go in ten minutes to have a tea party with some denizens in Neovia. Team Haunted Woods versus Team Shenkuu... I've heard some sad things about both these teams but none as unfortunate as, oh I don't know, XANDRA KILLING ME. What? Who said I can't come back as a vengeful ghost? Not my style? I've spent my whole life trying to get vengeance on Magax before I was untimely snuffed out. Oh, yes, the match. Well, my home team was not so fortunate when Shenkuu continued their reign of upsets by winning Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger, aliong with causing a draw in Shootout Showdown. I've heard Shenkuu were causing some damage to other teams' statistics of late but I was kind of hoping they wouldn't hurt Haunted Woods' stats too. A shame, but nevermind. Team Haunted Woods was able to at LEAST get a win in Make Some Noise, that has to count for something, right? Don't worry, I plan to spook a few teams before I leave for the tea party anyway. And with that I must exit dramatically! Goodbye... *Poofs out in a cloud of wispy smoke*

Team Roo Island set fire to the pitch instead of Team Moltara, by winning Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Moltara was barely able to prevent a sweep by drawing in Slushie Slinger. "Ack, we were nearly swept!" Tulah Kisner exclaimed in shock. "Sorry, Moltara, it was nothing personal," Fenny Vail of Roo Island said sincerely.

Team Tyrannia and Team Haunted Woods rocked the stadium yesterday but could only manage a draw in Yooyuball! "It was like we took turns in scoring. It was getting on my nerves by the tenth goal," Captain Krell Vitor said in exasperation. Captain Loryche of Tyrannia said, "It was like the Concert Hall all over again. We took all the support games and the fans were going wild."

Team Shenkuu rode the rapids easily when they went against Team Kiko Lake, earning them three wins (in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise!) "Our current team rank is not the best, but if we're going down, we're taking others with us!" Foltaggio of Shenkuu said challengingly. Kiko Lake kept afloat by taking the win in Shootout Showdown. Ditan Colb of the Kikos said, "Is this a bad time to party until 3 AM? Because I'm going to anyway."

Doctor Sloth does not like Faerie Cakes! With these inspiring words, Team Virtupets caused havoc in the stadium by winning Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. "Sprinkles do not compute," XL Striker 3.8 droned in what would appear to be wonder. Team Faerieland, being ones to narrowly dodge complete obliteration, held their own and won Shootout Showdown. "Good grief, that was insane! Care for some sprinkles, XL?" Delma Harrence teased, offering the confused robot a plate of Chocolate Faerie Cakes.

Speaking of cake, Team Meridell and Team Darigan Citadel still could not settle their differences and share a slice of success in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise, which promptly went to the dark citadel. "Meridell, it's time to go home to your King. We're after the Cup this year," Reshar Collifey from DC said tauntingly. The knights were just able to skim the frosting off the cake by drawing in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. "Why are you talking about cake? I want cake now," Ilsa Ellits of Meridell said longingly. Ilsa's Captain later resolved that they could have some cake if they win the next match.

The Maraquans had more reason to celebrate as they won Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown against Team Terror Mountain. "At least we didn't have to lock Elon in the wardrobe again... this time we forced him to spend ten minutes next to the Techo Super-Fan, that'll teach him to berate the opposition," Barit Jowes of Team Maraqua said resolutely. The Mountaineers had no troubles in taking the wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. "The trick is yodelling, and only Terror Mountain folk can yodel the best," Osielle Lidel said triumphantly after their win in Make Some Noise.

The pirates of Team Krawk Island were not prepared to sit around waiting for their enemy to pull alongside their ship. Krawk Island went in, swords drawn, to surprise attack Team Kreludor and win Yooyuball. "Arr, ye ain't gonna mess with us, loonies," Captain Garven Hale growled with a happy disposition. Sadly those celebrations were cut short when Team Kreludor turned the tables and won all three support games! "What was that again, Garven?" Captain Derlyn Fonnet teased as her team got the majority win.

The scholars from Team Brightvale meant business yesterday as they scribbled down themselves a win in Yooyuball against the hardy Team Lost Desert. "We will win for Brynn!" Orie Dinelle cheered after the match. The Desert Squad were not deterred by this statistic and rallied three support game wins in retaliation to this. "Coltzan is the real deal here, scholars!" Vonde Cayle of LD said with a smirk.

And now for our mystery guest (just, yeah, just drag him in, he was the closest Neopian nearby... Let him sit down...) the Yurble Janitor!
Yurble Janitor: What am I doing again? Reporting about the Team Mystery Island versus Team Altador match? Why? I didn't watch it, I was cleaning out the Yooyu Pen. *Is handed a card with the results on it* What is this? This is a waste of time you know, I have to get some chewing gum off rows F and J in the stadium before the next lot of matches start, it takes five minutes to mix the formula! I don't have that kind of time... *Grumbles* Very well, I'll give it my best shot... Ahem! Team Mystery Island had wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. *Looks up from results card* I guess this means they won the match? Well played to them, I say! *Continues reading* Team Altador (my own team, I am proud to say) is the victor in Slushie Slinger. *Stops reading* I hate Slushie Slinger! The sticky mess of spilt slushies and wasted cartons that aren't even put in the bin for EIGHTEEN TEAMS is a nightmare to clean up. I'm the ONLY cleaner here, you know! I never get a break... King Altador, I want a raise. Now. And speaking of now I have to get going. Have fun etc. etc. *Wanders off, binning the results card on his way out.*

It was Team Lost Desert who was doing the scaring against Team Haunted Woods where mummies sent the ghoulish squad back to their mummies! Team Lost Desert meant business and pulled out all the stops to sweep their opponents across the board. Zo Junior blamed the losses on the mere fact he had a cold.

Team Shenkuu ninja'd wins from Team Altador in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, insisting that it had nothing to do with the fact that "Trapper" Remis from Altador (who had stolen Antola Maeir's left sock before the match) had annoyed them, and that the wins were not in spite of this. Team Altador did return Antola's sock but took the win in Slushie Slinger in place of it.

Team Faerieland floated above Team Darigan Citadel with a flutter of their wings in Slushie Slinger. The Darigans, although friendly with the Faerielanders, were not afraid to boast their wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Tandrak Shaye and Delma Harrence settled their differences over a game of Double or Nothing... just for fun, naturally.

Team Maraqua extinguished Team Moltara's hopes of a win yesterday by winning Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The Moltarans turned up the heat a little and managed to simmer out a draw in Slushie Slinger. Unfortunately Team Moltara wasn't able to wrangle a free meal at Kelp for the loss. Nevermind, better luck next time!

Team Roo Island didn't make King Skarl laugh, but they certainly got a chuckle out of King Roo. The Rooligans won Yooyuball and Make Some Noise but also pulled a draw in Shootout Showdown against Team Meridell. The knights do not like to be outwitted and swiped a win in Slushie Slinger. By the end of the match, though, most of the Meridellians were growing sick of slushies and gruel started to look appealing.

Sloth's favourite squad zapped the pirates out of the ocean with wins in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. Team Virtupets celebrated with some Galactic Space Punch. Team Krawk Island won Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise and resolved to steal Virtupets' supply of space suits as a prank. The Altador Cup Committee ordered the return of the space suits or Team Virtupets would not be able to return home after the tournament.

Team Kreludor created lunacy amongst Team Tyrannia in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown yesterday. The prehistoric squad did not run screaming under the moonlight, though, as they spotted an advantage. Tyrannia charged in with spears and claimed wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Tickets to see Gruundo at the Concert Hall, anyone?

The fruit from Brightvale was much sweeter than from Mystery Island as Team Brightvale won Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger from the superior fruit energy boost. Team Mystery Island could not resist the juicy victories in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Mumbo Pango still demands fruit on Mystery Island, the outcome was good.

Captain Dread: Yarrrg! Run fer yer lives. I be Captain Dread. WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T REMEMBER ME?! I was the most fearsome pirate on the Neopian seas, yer barnacles. Why am I doin' a match report, yeh ask? Well, I need the publicity... y'know, considerin' I'm bein' written out of history an' everythin'. So here I am... Hmph, me team, Team Kiko Lake, didn't fair too well. They were against Team Terror Mountain and Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown went to the icy land. It was nice t' see the Kikos roarin' at the top o' their lungs to draw in Make Some Noise. Now, Kiko Lake opened up a can o' cannonballs on Terror Mountain in Slushie Slinger. Arr, good times... Time is up? But I ain't got round to tellin' yeh abou--

Hey, everyone. I'm AAA - AKA the Games Master - if you haven't heard of me you're missing out on life. I noticed that Queen Fyora did the whole match report yesterday for the Altador Cup... Yeah, well, I'm gonna do a better one than that and take over the WHOLE newspost. Ha! Beat that, queeny. Let's see, we're on Day 28 so this means that I am doing the match report for Day 27 (June 27th) of the tourney. Prepare to be amazed at my incredible writing skillz!

What was Team Moltara THINKING?! They were against Team Kiko Lake; they should have learned that Erli Quinnock (the Kikos' goalie) has a 0.5 second delay before diving for the Yooyu. I mean it was BLINDINGLY obvious even from the VIP Booth. Anyway, with some excellent gameplay on Kiko Lake's part, they swept the Moltarans! Although next time they should consider getting some extra practice time to work on their flaws. Team Moltara, watch some of the higher ranking teams to help improve your methods on the field.

Abigail: AAA! I was told I would find you here. Be nice in your match reports or else I'll take over them.
AAA: Go away, sis. You're ruining my time in the spotlight!
Abigail: Moltara is trying, give them a break, and Kiko Lake is respectable. Now carry on if you must but I will interject if you step out of line.
AAA: Grr... fine. Carrying on.

Team Virtupets performed as incredibly as they should. They won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise against Team Tyrannia. I have to admit, that is quite an achievement considering that Tyrannia is known for powering through the support games, but Virtupets IS higher on the standings right now. Tyrannia didn't let them get the best of them, though, because Shootout Showdown was awarded to the prehistoric squad. That was a fun match to watch but I could engineer Team Virtupets' robots FAR better than whatever weak technician they have hanging around.

Abilgail: What did I tell you about crossing a line, AAA?
AAA: Oh come on, that was a nice report!
Abigail: Right up until the point you insulted Virtupets' technicians!
AAA: What? There was smoke coming from Goltron the whole match.
Abigail: No there wasn't, that was steam from a hotdog you bought before the match started.
AAA: It was? Oh well, they should probably hire better engineers or whatever anyway. Continuing...

Team Brightvale versus Team Altador. Abigail will tell me off if I say what I want to say about the match so here's my best shot at being nice. Brightvale had luck on their side as they won Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown... well, not so much luck as talent really. And both teams were loud enough that it ended in a draw in Make Some Noise. Team Altador did much better in Slushie Slinger, although they could do with some much better wrist-action. Was that nice enough for you, Abi?

Abigail: You have a long way to go, AAA.
AAA: Shut up, what do you know about reports anyway?
Abigail: I know that you fail at school. And you've overused the term "much better" so far.
AAA: You didn't just say that!
Abigail: I did. Now behave.
AAA: Alright, alright...

Now Team Maraqua and Team Meridell was a good game to watch, they're both really tough teams. Maraqua boasted wins in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise, whilst Meridell got Slushie Slinger. Shootout Showdown ended in a draw. But really, Meridell, a JUBJUB as a goalkeeper?! And Maraqua, what on Neopia possessed you to trade Dorina Hals for Lamelle Turow...

Abigail: AAA!!! Manners.
AAA: I'm sorry but it has to be said.
Abigail: That was rude, it's up to the teams who they hire.
AAA: Dorina was a great player, why did they get rid of her?
Abigail: Maybe she LEFT because Maraqua's Team Captain is almost as diabolical as you.
AAA: I'm more diabolical than he is! In his face.
Abigail: *Facepalms* Ugh... just get the reports over with. You need better people skills.
AAA: :P

Team Shenkuu... what to do with you? You won Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger against Team Terror Mountain so you did a good job, but you're so far down the standings you need to analyse where you're going wrong. Maybe some time with me will help! Terror Mountain, you got two wins! Granted it was in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown, but you need to focus more on the main game if you want to regain that lost stamina--

Abigail: Time with you?
AAA: What about it? It's a generous offer, don't you think?
Abigail: You honestly think Team Shenkuu will ask for YOUR help? You aren't exactly athletic, brother.
AAA: I AM the Games Master. Everyone should be thankful for any offer of help from me. I am charitable, Abi.
Abigail: And what was with you shrugging off the wins in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown for Terror Mountain? That wasn't very nice, all games count towards the team effort, you're just being critical.
AAA: Sue me!
Abigail: I won't but they might.
AAA: Moving on!

Ah yes, the Rooligans! Team Roo Island did us proud by winning Yooyuball and Make Some Noise against Team Faerieland. Well, that was to be expected, Faerieland doesn't hace the best Yooyuballers in the world. But Queen Fyora has a right to be happy with the Faeries with their two wins in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. I have to admit, they really are putting up a fight this year... but Rooligans, come on, you could have prevented that result, surely?

Abigail: That was biased, AAA.
AAA: I can support my home team!
Abigail: Yes but match reports are meant to be none-biased.
AAA: I'm doing this, you're not. Be quiet.

Team Lost Desert - fallen champions *tut tut* - you did incredibly well against Team Kreludor, I must admit! The Kreludans are way up there in the standings and you're allllll... the way down the standings - BUT YOU GOT SLUSHIE SLINGER AND MAKE SOME NOISE - that was great work. Alas, Team Kreludor got Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown (as they should, being like the #1 competitor this year) but I bet they couldn't beat my high score on Zurroball! Yeah, Kreludor, I'm callin' you out!

Abigail: Stop being cocky, AAA.
AAA: I'm bored, I want a challenge.
Abigail: Be careful, brother, you may get more than you bargain for!
AAA: Yeah, yeah...

Team Mystery Island versus Team Haunted Woods. Well, having a zombie on the pitch really didn't help the Haunties much, did it? Because Mystery Island won Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown no questions asked. But Haunted Woods redeemed themselves with wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Funny, I would have expected MI to do the screaming considering who they were against...

Abigail: Team Haunted Woods is nice.
AAA: They're meant to be scary. I wasn't scared.
Abigail: Believe me, they can be scary, but they're good sports.
AAA: They weren't this time. Epic fail.
Abigail: Don't blame me if you have nightmares about them tonight, AAA. I warned you.
AAA: Whatever. Now for the last match!

Team Krawk Island looted the win in Yooyuball but didn't have the strength to beat Team Darigan Citadel in the support games. The Darigans definitely meant business but could not take the main event from the scallywags. Now I wonder how well they would have performed if "Dasher" Soley was still present? DC had the majority win, can argue with that power.

Abigail: I miss Dasher. He was cool.
AAA: Yeah he was, but too old, he was making mistakes.
Abigail: Not many mistakes though.
AAA: I wonder if the Darigans noticed the difference without the Krawk.
Abigail: Duh. That was a stupid question. Anyway, let's wrap this up!

Welcome to Day 27 of the Altador Cup where magic is in the air and Hanso just doesn't care :P. Our special guest, Queen Fyora, has decided to do the whole match report herself :o. "Well, I needed a break from rebuilding Faerieland anyway," she explained.

Take it away, Fyora! This is the report for Day 26 (June 26th) of the tournament:

Thank you! I'll do this match report in the normal format you SunnyNeo reporters do, just to stay in the spirit of things.

Alright, looks like Team Kreludor is first on the agenda with a sweep against Team Shenkuu. They are both tough squads, only room for winners and none-winners, but do not despair! If you believe in karma things can only get better. Kreludor is proving to be contenders but they can so easily be shaken up by the right opponents. Shenkuu is on the other end of the spectrum, but they should not worry. I do not believe that their end of days is here. I have a feeling that next year will be another upside down tournament. I've never been to Kreludor but I have heard it is a nice location. Shenkuu is a beautiful land, I have spoken to their Emperor, but I do not have time to visit either of the afore mentioned places lately.

Oh how delightful! Team Altador versus Team Roo Island. The Altadorians are so hardworking. They remind me of my own team, Faerieland, and play on despite the odds. They managed to win Slushie Slinger (a great challenge, I must say, it gives waitresses some recognition) and had fun doing so, I am told. Team Roo Island - the bells on their uniforms are a wonderful touch - are one of the most cheerful squads in the tournament, I do admire their spirit. They are stronger than King Altador's squad and rightfully gained wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Good game, my friends!

Ah Brightvale... I am rather fond of the place since they were so co-operative during our crisis in Faerieland when Xandra went rogue. Captain Brynn is a star in her own right. Team Brightvale has done a fantastic job against Team Moltara by winning Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. The Moltarans are still finding it difficult to adjust to the tournament settings, it might take a while before we see them higher up the ranks, but they are slowly improving. The Steampunk Squad did make a loud enough racket to win Make Some Noise, after all. Maybe I should invite their Yooyuball squad to practice with mine during the off-season? I will speak to their Mayor to make arrangements.

Team Virtupets is doing extremely well this year! I mean wow. But they had been given a good challenge against Team Kiko Lake. I like Kiko Lake, they sell good toffees. Team Virtupets (I'm no fan of Sloth but their Yooyuballers are nice) did win the match with Yooyuball and Make Some Noise, but the Kikos kept control by drawing Slushie Slinger and winning Shootout Showdown. The difference in both teams is huge. Although it is rather amusing watching the little Kikos bounce around the field! They do make me giggle.

Team Krawk Island... even without your beloved Dasher in the Captain's cabin, you still manage to get yourself into the top of the tables! Hats off to you, my dears. In their match against Team Tyrannia, the prehistoric squad (with their own Krawk) put up a significant battle and won Slushie Slinger. The referee declared a draw in Make Some Noise because they were both SO LOUD, my goodness! The pirates stayed true to form, though, and won Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown.

Meridell, Meridell, Meridell... I really need to speak to Illusen more, but she has things under control over there where King Skarl slips up. Team Meridell, on the other hand, held the fort by winning Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. The main event of Yooyuball and the fast-paced Shootout Showdown were draws! Team Mystery Island could not best the knights, but they should not fear, Mumbo Pango will not hurt them. I won't let him. Now, Jhuidah is another Faerie I must speak to. I need her recipe for Tangella Soup. It's quite tasty.

Yay we're at my team report now! I couldn't be prouder... A win against Team Lost Desert, it really was quite a pleasant surprise, and by pleasant I mean totally amazing! Yooyuball went to my beloved team, Team Faerieland, but it was a draw in Slushie Slinger. Lost Desert doesn't accept defeat, and they took Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. I'm in such a great mood I might send some Water Faeries down to Sakhmet and Qasala just to replenish their water supply some more. They deserve it.

Team Haunted Woods is used to cold temperatures, what with the constant presence of ghosts and whatnot. They were against Team Terror Mountain, Taelia's favourite squad, and drew Yooyuball. The Haunted Woods exhausted themselves getting wins by Slushie Slinging and yelling at the tops of their voices in Make Some Noise. Alas, it was not enough to stop Team Terror Mountain from amounting a win in Shootout Showdown. Congratulations, my friends, keep trying.

Oh and we're at the last match already, what a shame. I quite like talking about this tournament, it's a change of pace. Well, the final match of the day was Team Darigan Citadel versus Team Maraqua. The Darigans are quite friendly towards my squad, I do have a soft spot for them, and it was nice to see them win Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. The Shootout Showdown game was too close to call, so they both settled for a Draw. Team Maraqua seem to be benefitting from their player transfer and won Yooyuball. Bravo! Anyway, this is the end of my segment. Cheerio! Play fair, everyone! *Poofs out*

Hello, everyone! It's time for the Day 25 (June 25th) of the Altador Cup, where there are a couple of sweeps to talk about. Good luck to all teams and have a great day in the tournament!

Team Tyrannia gained the first sweep against Team Mystery Island. "Uh... Volgoth must offer lots of fruit to Mumbo Pango now after that result..." The Islander's Captain groaned unhappily. Meanwhile, Team Tyrannia celebrated over slices of the Giant Omelette. "Who can get sick of omelette?" "Scrap" Taggert said gleefully, eating some Carrot and Pea Omelette.

Team Darigan Citadel were floating above it all with a clean sweep against Team Terror Mountain! "Who doesn't love snowboarding on Terror Mountain?!" Captain Layton Vickles of DC joked. The Mountaineers needed to cool down after the loss and helped themselves to ice creams. "Don't worry, Tooth Faerie, it's sugar-free," Minae Mitora said to no one in particular. I guess she's trying to avoid cavities.

The Rooligans wasted no energy against Team Shenkuu yesterday when they swiped wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Shenkuu narrowly missed being swept when they drew in Shootout Showdown. "That was too close for comfort," Foltaggio from Team Shenkuu said, sighing with relief. "But this won't keep us down!" Fenny Vail from Roo Island said, "Ooh we were so close! Nevermind, we did really well!"

The sun was not too hot for the desert as Team Lost Desert was protected from Team Altador's blaze, which enabled them to gain wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. "I think we all deserve some time off... when's that Bye-Day coming up?" Vonde Cayle asked with a grin. Team Altador won Slushie Slinger, which coolled their nerves. "Sometimes a single win can change your outlook on the tournament," Timu explained. "It's more about the attitude of the players and the supporters. That's far more important."

Team Meridell shocked the stadium by almost sweeping Team Kreludor! "Hooray! This is a victory that will make Neopians think twice when they come to face us," Fiorina of Meridell exclaimed happily. Team Kreludor managed to salvage themselves with a win in Make Some Noise. "Just... wow. The knights were really on form! I think we need to rethink our field tactics," Captain Derlyn Fonnet of Kreludor said in awe.

Team Haunted Woods played all kinds of pranks on Team Faerieland to try and throw their concentration off the games, and to some extent it worked! Yooyuball and Make Some Noise went to the Haunties, but they hadn't frightened Team Faerieland enough to prevent Fyora's Fighters from winning Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. "You know what we forgot?" Captain Krell Vitor of Team Haunted Woods mused. "We needed to put jellied eels in their lockers. Maybe next year..." Faerieland's Elbin Kroe laughed. "I find the Haunted Woods quite funny, to be honest. They don't frighten me."

The pirates of Team Krawk Island could not best the scholars yesterday, even though they took the win in Yooyuball. "WHAT HAPPENED?" Captain Garven Hale roared at the Slushie Stand. "Nitri, who can I blame fer this failure?" Nitri simply told him to eat his own words. Team Brightvale could only laugh in spite of them with wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. They drew Shootout Showdown with the pirates. Kayn Hireck from Brightvale said, "Ah, nothing beats a good upset!"

The two water-based lands splashed it out and the results were enough to flip over any ol' boat. "We got Yooyuball, so there!" Captain Elon Hughlis of Team Maraqua said huffily, standing by the fact that it had in fact been the most important win. Team Kiko Lake had taken no prisoners with a support game sweep! "Never underestimate the power of a lake," Holbie Pinnock said with a hint of "booyah" to his voice.

Welcome to Day 25 of the Altador Cup tournament where there are Weewoos-a-plenty as we all celebrate the 500th issue of the Neopian Times! *Applauds* Even some of our own staff here at SunnyNeo were able to share in the 500th issue celebrations - yay! So in light of this milestone, in honour of TNT's long-running newspaper, this match report for Day 24 (June 24th) is dedicated to the Neopian Times.

The first sweep of the day went to Team Kreludor who stopped the presses to maintain their foothold high up in the ranks. "I'm quite into sending Neomails," Captain Derlyn Fonnet of Kreludor said cheerfully. "As you all know, I'm friends with Brains Mortigan. He's quite a good writer." Team Altador, who sadly won no games yesterday, relaxed after their match with the Neopian Times. "I enjoy reading the articles in the Times. It's a good way to wake up," Lyvon Cibaire informed us.

Team Haunted Woods revelled in orange and black confetti showers as they won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Zo Junior of the Spooky Squad said, "Brains is pretty literate, it's scary, especially as he only has a one-word vocabulary! I personally prefer looking at the comics in the NT." Their opponents, Team Virtupets, were thunderstruck from the results but salvaged a draw in Make Some Noise. "I have no idea what happened!" Captain Keetra Deile of Virtupets gasped in disbelief. "How did they beat us?!" She immediately started to wonder whether some witchcraft had taken place. Zo told her to stop being jealous. Keetra whacked him with the thick-paged 500th issue of the Neopian Times to tell him off.

The knights of Meridell were full of cheers after winning Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown against Team Moltara. "It's good reports all the way for us Meridellians!" Gregorio Maille cried, shaking the hands of his fans. Team Moltara was able to celebrate, too, as they managed to slightly elevate themselves away from last place in the standings with a win in Make Some Noise. Captain Aldric Beign said, "Our fans have a right to celebrate! We're getting better at the tournament!"

The legendary battle between ninjas and pirates could be heard for miles around the Colosseum grounds, but there was only one sound victor. Team Krawk Island roared victoriously as they won Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. Ex-Captain "Dasher" Soley dropped in to say hello. "Have yeh seen th'number o' Weewoos lately?! Rumour has it it has somethin' t'do with th' five-hundredth issue of the Neopian Times. I like th' Neopian Times... it makes a good sleepin' mask." Team Shenkuu redeemed some footing with draws in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Captain Mirsha Grelinek of Shenkuu said playfully, "Dasher wouldn't know good literature if it whacked him upside the head! I enjoy the art of calligraphy, it's quite therapeutic."

Team Tyrannia is familiar with stone etchings and cave drawings. They even have their own version of the Neopian Times; the Ugga Ugg Times. Captain Loryche said after the match when they won Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger, "Ugga Ugg Times is fun to read." Team Kiko Lake took Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown yesterday but congratualted the Neopian Times staff for running such a great newspaper. "Hey, editor, can we please have some more stories about Kikos?" Meela Kitah asked innocently. "You guys rock, Kiko-style!"

There was some faerie magic present when Team Faerieland forced a tie in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger against the icy Team Terror Mountain. "Oh my favourite part of the NT has to be the series!" Ciona Broan from Faerieland chimed excitedly. "I especially like the stories about Faerieland. Neopians are very talented." Terror Mountain swirled in on a cloud of snowflakes as they won Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown in the updraft. "I like the editorial personally," Captain Prytariel said, holding her copy of the 500th issue. "It's very informative."

The scholars of Team Brightvale know all-too-well the satisfaction of a darn good read! "Oh yes, the Neopian Times every week makes a wonderful way to stimulate those braincells before taking to the Yooyuball field," Captain "Squeaky" Tressif said jovially. He has reason to be upbeat because his team won Yooyuball against Team Darigan Citadel! But the Darigans were not too put-off by this loss because they had a support game sweep to pick them up. "Sorry, Shaye, your comic didn't get into the 500th issue," Kep Bonnefie told her teammate apologetically. Tandrak Shaye shrugged, saying, "Oh well, I only drew it in like five minutes. There are far more talented artists in the world."

"They brought mr. Coconut back!!!" Teylor Nix from Team Mystery Island exclaimed as he ran through the Colosseum with his copy of the Neopian Times. The match results were a different story, though, as Mystery Island drew Yooyuball with the hardy Team Roo Island. "The comics!" Team Roo Island cried in unison after being asked what their favourite part of Neopia's best selling newspaper was. And it was a colourful finish for the Rooligans as they won Slushie Slinger. The Mystery Islanders took the overall win by smashing Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown.

Isca: Greetings from Maraqua! I am so, so sorry for not being able to talk in the VIP Booth earlier but I am back to full health now! Congratulations to the Neopian Times for running for 500 issues! That's incredible. Well, it was a wonderful for Team Maraqua as I saw them win Yooyuball in the stadium. I've never seen Yooyuball before but it reminds me of when I used to chase little fish around in the ocean as a child. I wasn't sure what the Slushie Slinging contest was but apparently that ended in a draw against Team Lost Desert, so that's okay. I think our luck ran out, though, because the Lost Desert won Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. My sister Caylis probably predicted the losses but nevermind. I'm sure we will pick up the pace before the Finals! Fairwell, my friends, I've got some shell collecting to do!

Hello, everyone! Today, just for a change of pace and in light of the new Yooyuball updates, we will be hearing from the goalkeepers of the tournament. Without further ado, SunnyNeo presents the Altador Cup match report for Day 23 (June 23rd) of the tournament.
Match summary: Team Meridell swept Team Faerieland!
Yoris Obbles: I like Team Faerieland, they know the difference between me and a Faerie Yooyu! It was a great match, though, a clean sweep to us!
Valtonous Rea: The knights are very skillful. I'm tempted to visit Meridell one day to learn some of their medieval ways. A day in Meridell... could be fun. Oh, the match? Yeah they swept us, I don't really want to comment.
Match summary: Team Roo Island won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and shootout Showdown. Opponents, Team Haunted Woods won Slushie Slinger, preventing a sweep.
Clutch Billaban: Haha! I've never seen the field so filled with gROOsome play! Only kidding, the match was clean and Brains had obviously eaten beforehand. think the bells on our uniforms put off the opposition.
Fanetti: Those jangly bells on the Rooligans are annoying. At least they didn't sweep us! Still, the bell tolls until the end of the tournament. We will spook our next opponents!
Match summary: Team Virtupets beat Team Altador in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Slushie Slinger ended in a draw.
Goltron Mk I: BEEP... Win for Virtupets affirmative... Draw between Team Virtupets and Team Altador occurred... BEEP... Overall win... to Team Virtupets... BEEP.
Salayne Ritad: We weren't so lucky this time but Virtupets put on a good show. I still find it unfair that they have robots on the squad though.
Match summary: Team Maraqua took the overall win with victories in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Team Brightvale fought hard to draw in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger.
Tonie Plessix: Brightvale were really on the ball, I can't remember how many saves I did. But although Elon complained about the draws, at least the scholars didn't take our pride.
Orie Dinelle: Have you seen Elon throw those Fire Yooyus? It's like he's afraid of them or someth-- AH-HAH! He's afraid of fire. Go figure. He is aquatic after all... aw, shame we only realised this just now.
Match summary: Yooyuball and Make Some Noise went to Team Mystery Island, with Team Kiko Lake scrambling a draw in Make Some Noise and a win in Shootout Showdown.
Lor Benneveldt: It's pretty hard trying to catch a Yooyu thrown by a Kiko. I think it's that split second in your brain when you have to differentiate the Yooyu from the Kiko. It's mind-boggling sometimes.
Erli Quinnock: Yeah, I unfortunately let in some goals... It wasn't on purpose, they just have really fast throws! Bertie was brilliant against the Kikos though. As always.
Match summary: Team Kreludor had the upper-hand in Yooyuball but slipped in Slushie Slinger, gaining a draw against Team Darigan Citadel. The Darigans finished off the support games with wins in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown.
Jurin T.: The match didn't go quite to plan. Darigan Citadel weren't supposed to win the support games! We were meant to sweep them. Oh well, they're good, really, I'm just joking - they performed well, but we got Yooyuball. Kreludor for the win!
Reshar Collifey: Don't blame me for letting in the goals! (Yes, I know I'm the goalkeeper...) Those Clockworks are horrible.
Match summary: Team Lost Desert had Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise engraved on their results table as theirs to keep. Shootout Showdown was a draw against Team Shenkuu but the ninjas took Yooyuball as their own!
Xana DiLanche: I'm glad that the Altador Cup Committee is relaxing the restrictions on us goalkeepers but it's hard work with the new Clockworks. It takes a lot of stamina to keep playing after enduring the blast of one of them.
Leera Heggle: The ninjas may have had Yooyuball but they weren't so tough in the support games. Come on, Lost Desert, we can make a comeback!
Match summary: Probably the sweetest victory of all today went to Team Moltara who won Yooyuball against Team Krawk Island. The pirates won the support games.
Mor Gollog: FINALLY! We caught the pirates off-guard. Yooyuball for Moltara!
Garven Hale: I ain't complainin'. I suppose it was gonna happen one day... At least we had all the support games.
Armin: Heya! I'm Armin the Small and I'm here to do the report on Team Terror Mountain's match against Team Tyrannia. Um, well, Team Tyrannia did really well, they won Yooyuball. It was a bit disappointing, I think my team could have done better BUT NOT TO WORRY! Terror Mountain won all of the support games! Yay! You know, I haven't heard from Hannah in a while, I think she's busy. She would probably like to watch some Yooyuball... Wait SHE HAS? Well, so long as she had fun... Anyway, I'm gonna have a look around Altador, it's quite a big place and it's nice to be out of the cold for a while. Where are the docks?

Next in the VIP Booth will be Isca who has successfully recovered from a case of the Bubbles! Yay!

TNT has announced new changes in Yooyuball as mentioned in the New Features today:

Yooyuball Update - Based on all your feedback, we've been working on a goalie control toggle for Yooyuball and it's finally ready to go. We'll be updating the live game later today so you can give it a try. Using it is completely optional, but if you do try it out, please let us know what you think!

Yooyuball has been updated to include the goalie controls.
Yooyuball Downtime: It looks like there will be some short downtime on Yooyuball whilst TNT update the game. Loading the game and sending scores may still be an issue temporarily.
Support Game Problems: As a possible knock-on effect from the Yooyuball updates, there seem to be some problems with gameplay in the support games as well. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.


Instructions: When your goalie is on screen, you'll see a key appear over his/her head in the top left corner. Pressing this key on your keyboard lets you take full control of the goalie, turning the auto-switching feature off for the moment. Pressing it again will allow you to go back to controlling the other players via auto-switching. If the goalie goes off-screen at any point (say the ball has moved downfield), control will switch back automatically for you.

Hello again, time's really racing on so let's not waste anymore time with this match report, I'm pretty sure you've all got those foam hands waiting to be waved around like lunatics! Cracking on we have a few clean sweeps to talk about, stuff about a place that doesn't exist, and of course the main bulk of SunnyNeo's match report on Day 22 (June 22nd) of the Altador Cup.

The first sweep of the day went to Team Krawk Island who raided the shores of Team Mystery Island and left nothing un-pillaged. Four games to the pirates, Mumbo Pango will not be happy with the beach-dwellers. "Hey, I was gonna say that!" Volgoth complained to us. Nitri Cassale from Team Krawk Island cried, "Set sail for our next sweep, Captain!"

Captain Elon Hughlis (his boastfulness) was thrilled with the clean sweep his team, Team Maraqua, got against Team Altador. We allowed him a moment to release his pent-up excitement. "Aw heck yeah! You should've seen me! I was all over the pitch, runnin' and slingling and the fans were there cheering for me... It was the best!" Team Altador were dejected about the loss but were reassured by their king that he thought nothing less of them. "King Altador is so kind. He told us that we are still his squad and despite the losses, we're his favourites," Salayne Ritad said, definitely showing signs that King Altador's words were having a good effect on their morale.

The knights were not afraid of the ghoulish antics Team Haunted Woods got upto yesterday as the stalwart squad marched in to take wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Ilsa Ellits from Team Meridell said, "This is the kind of result that gets King Skarl to crack a smile. It's really quite incredible." The fans of Team Haunted Woods were not silent about it, making enough of a racket to rouse sleeping zombies (yes, Brains did fall asleep during the match) giving them the win in Make Some Noise. "The supporters saw Brains Mortigan dozing off. Thanks to them we didn't have to call in a substitute player," Captain Krell Vitor explained, grateful to the fans.

It was like a really expensive game of Ugga Smash in the stadium as Team Tyrannia clashed with Team Lost Desert, which left the former champions with some heavy bruising. Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown were handed to the Tyrannians. "We have mighty fans and players. Lost Desert is lost," Captain Loryche of Tyrannia said knowledgably. Luvea Trivon of LD said, "They may have taken us down but we still have our pride - we drew in Slushie Slinger." Indeed, Luvea! The draw in Slushie Slinger is a slight statement, but unfortunately not enough to knock the prehistoric squad's morale.

Team Kreludor was showing no mercy as they snatched Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown off Team Moltara. Qlydae Wegg said, "We'll give them credit for the effort but they have to try much harder to actually beat us." Not all was lost, though, as the Steampunk Squad had the upper-hand in Slushie Slinger. "The fans just saw the weakness and went for it. I couldn't be prouder," Mor Gollog stated with a satisfied grin.

Two games each for Team Virtupets and Team Terror Mountain but there could only be one winner. "The superior ones are always loyal to the great Doctor Sloth," Weldar Xupenfarb from Virtupets said adamantly. The loyal squad to Sloth was awarded the win in Yooyuball and also took Make Some Noise for good measure. Terror Mountain did not let this worry them and they snapped up wins in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown to give them a nasty bit of frost bite. "Don't mess with the best, dudes," Rinok Fitel of Terror Mountain said coolly.

It was almost way too close to call for the Referee in the Team Brightvale versus Team Faerieland match, where Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown all ended up as a draw. Team Brightvale was only able to secure the overall victory through Make Some Noise. "In the end, our fans had managed to get rid of any traces of Kikoughela and were perfectly loud enough to give us that extra ounce of oomph to defeat the Faeries," Reb Weemelott said sagely. Elbin Kroe from Team Faerieland was astounded. "How close was THAT to being a four-way tie?! That was a very fun match."

For two mini worlds being quite close to each other, the differences are significant. Team Roo Island was dominant in Yooyuball yesterday, avoiding the usual traps opponents fall for against the confusing Kikos, but Team Kiko Lake was steamrolling through with wins in all the support games. "They don't have anything on Lilo and Jair," Gordo Gunnels, Defender of the Rooligans, said proudly. "Our Forwards are unstoppable." Team Kiko Lake's "Poke" Cellers said, "They can have Yooyuball, we had more wins than them in the match from the support games, it's a quantity victory for us Kikos."

And now for our mystery guest! Let's give a warm welcome to "Number Five", Prisoner Five from Cellblock. He has been brought here under the supervision of Master Vex, the prison warden.

Now it's time for our Altador Cup match report for Day 21 (June 21st) of the tournament. Amazingly there were no clean sweeps:

Team Krawk Island took to the high seas (or the little lake) and won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise against Team Kiko Lake. Captain Garven Hale said, "Ack, Dinksy really needs to work on her slinging skills for Shootout Showdown." Team Kiko Lake was victorious in Shootout Showdown. Holbie Pinnock announced, "Kikos have strong arms, it's kind of the way we were created that helps with this game."

The Rooligans bounced to a happy ending against Team Lost Desert with wins in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. There was no way of telling who was better in Shootout Showdown so the referee declared a draw, but the Lost Desert pulled a success in Slushie Slinger to redeem themselves. "King Roo will be so pleased with us," Captain Lilo Blumario from Team Roo Island chimed. Derbi Azar from Lost Desert said, "Has anyone seen King Jazan lately? Apparently he was last seen at the Wheel of Exrtavagance before being mobbed by fans."

Team Maraqua out-rocked Tyrannia yesterday in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. "Who's the boss? Me," Captain Elon (kingsize ego) Hughlis said tauntingly after the match. Team Tyrannia did not have the same dominance in the support games, only managing to draw in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. "We have the joy of knowing that they did not sweep us," Wila Benne of Tyrannia said smugly.

Team Faerieland lived up to their nickname as Fyora's Fighters by wrestling wins off Team Shenkuu in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. "The ninjas might be improving but we're able to break some patterns." Shenkuu's Larcy Phu acknowledged this, "The Faeries are stronger than some people give them credit for. But we also have room to improve." Yooyuball and Make Some Noise went to Shenkuu, giving them the match.

The flames of Moltara's steelworks were brighter than the Altadorian sun as Team Moltara burned through with wins in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. Tulah Kisner from the Steampunk Squad said, "I've been paid to say that everyone should go to Moltara to see Tangor's Workshop. There, I said it, can I go celebrate the win now?" The gladiators were glad with wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. "At least our supporters were in good shape! Long live the king!" Lyvon Cibaire from Team Altador said delightedly.

The four games were split between Haunted Moon: Team Haunted Woods and Team Kreludor. The overall win was awarded to the tougher Team Kreludor, Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown sealed that result. Coco Metrone said, "Sorry, Krell, we'll pay for Brains' medical bill." Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise went to the Haunties. "Aww, poor Brains, he'll be back for the next match, don't worry," Captain Krell Vitor said reassuringly to the fans who saw the damage the poor zombie endured.

The knights of Team Meridell stormed Team Terror Mountain's ice castle and made haste to take Yooyuball as their own, but valiantly wrestled a draw in Slushie Slinger. Fiorina of Meridell said, "That'll teach them for making fun of Yoris." Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown went to Team Terror Mountain, though. Osielle Lidel looked mildly embarrassed. "I'm sorry, I thought he was a Faerie Yooyu!"

Team Brightvale was able to cause an upset against Team Virtupets as they sidled in and stole Yooyuball from their metallic clutches. "The pen is mighter than the Sloth!" Captain "Squeaky" Tressif chortled. Team Virtupets had the last laugh by winning all three support games. "Sloth will still be proud of us... right?" Sela Pretore said semi-confidently.

Tiki Tack Mon (AKA Tombola Guy): Hola, everybody! Have you had a go on my Tombola in Mystery Island? NO? What, why? Oh, yes, the Altador Cup season... You really should give it a go and visit my Tiki Tack Shop, it is full of awesomeness. I have closed up shop for a time to join SunnyNeo in the VIP Booth to talk about my Yooyuball squad, Team Mystery Island. Ah yes, they played against Team Darigan Citadel. Well Mumbo Pango was not present at the match - of course, he is BIG - but my team managed a draw in Yooyuball. The Darigan squad won all of the support games! What was that about, mon? They had more power than the magma of Techo Mountain. But no worries, Mystery Island mons, just think about home and we will win! Okay, time is up now. I must be heading back to my Tombola.

The Altador Cup Committee would like to apologise for the delay in opening the Colosseum gates this morning, ten buckets of confetti had been accidentally released on the grounds and had turned the entire stadium into a colourful mess. The Yurble Janitor required Water Faerie help in order to get the place cleaned up. Now that that announcement is out of the way, onto the match report for Day 20 (June 20th) of the Altador Cup:

The knights fought against the sun flares yesterday and managed to slay the solar squad in one fell swoop... Well, not exactly a swoop, but a sweep! Team Meridell swept Team Altador and had no intentions of looking back. "We won all four matches in the stout honour of King Skarl!" Captain "Wizard" Windelle exclaimed, followed by cheers from his teammates. Timu of Team Altador smiled sweetly. "They played well. Although I think we should considering hiring King Altador on the team," she joked.

Team Faerieland had a good day against Team Moltara as they swiftly stole wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. "I think Elbin Kroe is getting better at this game as the tournament draws on," Captain Kakoni Worrill observed elatedly. Team Moltara still stands with some of the loudest fans. "Yep, we have awesome fans, they come out and cheer for us despite the results... it's like morning coffee," Captain Aldric Beign said whilst signing a fan's jersey.

The Rooligans versed the scholars and could not deny themselves wins in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. "Ah... our secret? Hmm... that would be telling," Fenny Vail teased from Team Roo Island. Team Brightvale put up a good fight and drew in Make Some Noise, but claimed Slushie Slinger for themselves. Kayn Hireck said, "I think I need some stitches." His arm was slightly torn from the match.

Yooyuball ended in a draw when Team Darigan Citadel and Team Haunted Woods took to the field. Sort of brings back memories from Altador Cup I. The Darigans secured the overall victory, though, with wins in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Tormo "The Terror" Frein released this statement; "The only one doing any scaring on the pitch is me." Team Haunted Woods had a louder response from their supporters and won Make Some Noise. "I think they're practicing for Halloween," Zo Junior remarked as he surveyed the crowds.

Team Mystery Island held back the tides from Team Maraqua with bags of sand along the coast. Their defence was strong enough to win Yooyuball and scramble a draw in Shootout Showdown. "I tend to avoid waters with squids nearby," Bertie Shurtz said as an obvious jab at Elon Hughlis in Maraqua. The Maraquans once again had to deal with their Captain complaining, but comfort was taken in the form of wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Barit Jowes from Maraqua said, "Hey, two wins, it's still great! Forget what Elon thinks."

There was a clean divide between Team Lost Desert and Team Kiko Lake but the Desert Squad had the upper-hand with victories in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. "Fast-paced sports and cold drinks go hand-in-hand, don't you agree?" Rhee Solters said chirpily after the match. The Kikos were pleased generally, "Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown are ours, and don't you forget it!" Erli Quinnock said challengingly to his next opponents.

Team Virtupets proved that they were dominant in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise when they took on Team Kreludor in the stadium. "And this is why Sloth pwns," Keetra Deile taunted on her way to the locker room. Team Kreludor was stronger in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Zenor Kevix retorted with, "Sloth should go and eat moon dust!"

Team Shenkuu is swinging back into action! With a sound win in Yooyuball, the squad is looking up (not to the stars, but to a possible comeback). Team Tyrannia was not swayed by this and remained dominant in the support games, taking Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. "No surrender!" Antola Maeir cheered. "Scrap" Taggert said, "We still have the support games. No one takes our trademark."

Hannah: Oh my, this is an awkward match to comment on. Do I root for Krawk Island or Terror Mountain? Hi, I'm Hannah, treasure hunter extraordinaire... Hannah the Brave. Dasher Soley ACTUALLY retired from Yooyuball? I never thought I'd see the day. Well, at least Krawk Island won Yooyuball. Their new player seems to have things under control. Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise went to Team Terror Mountain. Armin will be pleased with that. Did I ever tell you guys that I saved the Bori tribe on Terror Mountain? Yeah, that was me... and Kanrik... and Armin. But mostly me. Oh! And Shootout Showdown, that one was VERY close. I don't think the referee could even tell who was faster, so that just ended in a draw. I have too many mixed emotions about this match. I'm happy that the pirates won the main event, and the draw makes things easier because I don't have to take sides with that game... but yay for Terror Mountain taking the other two support games! Okay, I'm gonna go and see if Altador has any hidden treasure. Seeya!

Now for the match report for Day 19 (June 19th):

Team Virtupets was orbiting the planet and eliminated their opponents, Team Roo Island. The Rooligans put up as much defence as they could, but could not prevent the clean sweep that washed over them from above. "We're back on form. Turns out Goltron just needed some fresh oil," Keetra Deile explained. "So we were caught off guard... Now, if the Altador Cup was a tournament based on Dice-A-Roo, we'd be looking at a different result right now," Gordo Gunnels said with a grin.

Team Darigan Citadel could withstand the heat against Team Altador, where sun flares could not get them in the shadows. Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown went to the Darigans, but Slushie Slinger went to the Altadorians. "Sometimes one extra slushie can make all the difference," Timu said sagely, leaning against a colosseum pillar. Darigan Citadel's Reshar Collifey said, "Who needs slushies when we can look up and think 'we have a shot at the Cup'?"

Ciona Broan from Team Faerieland was looking forward to another day in the bright sunshine. "Hey, it's no wonder why slushie sales are through the roof, what with THIS weather." The Faeries were against Team Krawk Island and the pirates succeeded in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. "Whilst they were enjoyin' the sunshine, we were enjoying the wins," Zayle Sufhaux said jovially.

It was a close match between Teams Mystery Island and Terror Mountain as Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown ended in a draw. The Mountaineers secured the match with wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. "It was unbearably hot but considering we were against the Islanders... we coped better." Teylor Nix of Mystery Island folded his arms. "I think we played excellently! Who thinks we can change those draws into wins next time?"

Team Haunted Woods spooked Team Kiko Lake out of wins in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. They held their ground to draw in Slushie Slinger, but the Kikos got the last shock by winning Shootout Showdown. "They didn't frighten us, what are you talking about?" Captain "Poke" Cellers laughed, only to be scared silly by Wan Dirx moments later.

The knights gave Team Tyrannia a performance they'd never forget! The only win the prehistoric squad were able to steal was in Make Some Noise (they do like to yell) and came close in none other than Shootout Showdown. Team Meridell took no prisoners as they won both Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. "We're the knights of the round table and we'll thwart anyone who stands in our paths!" Captain "Wizard" Windelle cheered after the games.

The ninjas were still on the ball and won Yooyuball against the scholars. Team Brightvale and Team Shenkuu were unable to claim a win in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise so the referee declared both games a draw. Shootout Showdown went to Team Shenkuu. "Roberta's right, with her doing our paperwork, we can focus more on matches," Orie Dinelle said happily. Shenkuu's Foltaggio said, "I think Brightvale are on form this year, but don't underestimate the determination of our team."

It was an extremely close match between Team Maraqua and Team Kreludor. Elon Hughlis had to be locked in a wardrobe again as they drew in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise AND Shootout Showdown. Lamelle Turow of Maraqua said sheepishly, "Our Captain is not coming out of the wardrobe until he deals with the results." Guess that will be a while yet. "Elon has nothing to complain about," Captain Derlyn Fonnet of Team Kreludor said in disbelief. "His team WON the match by taking Slushie Slinger. Sheesh."

Cog: Hello, everyone! This is rather exciting, I haven't been out of Moltara before! It was a delight to watch Team Moltara play against Team Lost Desert today. Now I know Team Moltara does't have the best record in the tournament, but when they come home to Moltara they are still treated as heroes. And you know what? They drew in Make Some Noise, so that's good! Team Lost Desert was very talented. You should have seen them on the field! They played Yooyuball expertly and Shootout Showdown was... well, I know I am talking about the opposition but they did very well. And Slushie Slinger also went to the Desert squad. Yeah, yeah I know Moltara was almost swept, but did I mention that this is my first time out of Moltara :D? I'm gonna try some Feta Cheese and maybe go to the docks to look at the boats next. This is really exciting...

It's Day 18 of the tournament and the start of the Second Round Robin! Seventeen more days of play before the only Bye-Day (break day in the schedule) which takes place before the Semi-Finals and the Finals Rounds. Avoid sitting next to the Techo Super-Fan and you'll survive the Altador Cup with your hearing (although you might suffer from tinnitus for a while - you know, that ringing in your ear after listening to something loud? That.) So dump that bag of merchandise at home, put on your support gear and cheer for your team as LOUD as you can :D! Whilst you're doing that, here's the match report for Day 17 (June 17th), the last day of the First Round Robin, right now:

The first sweep was awarded to Team Lost Desert, who out-blazed Team Altador yesterday. "It's great to sweep once again. Sure, it's not one that's considered to be a ground-breaking sweep (no offence, Altador) but hey, it's definitely worth the celebration!" Team Altador's "Trapper" Remis tried to keep his team's spirits up by treating his team to a meal at Exquisite Ambrosia. "Trapper is great, he really treats us well as a team," Lyvon Cibaire commented sincerely at the restaurant.

The second sweep went to those steadfast, chivalrous knights from Team Meridell. They were up against last year's newest squad, Team Moltara and successfully wiped the castle floor with them in all four games. "To make up for sweeping them, we offered to treat Team Moltara to a meal. It was the honourable thing to do," Captain "Wizard" Windelle said courteously. Moltara's Tulah Kisner said, "Well, at least we got something out of the loss. They were very kind."

Team Faerieland were on their toes yesterday after Team Shenkuu had caused the powerhouse Virtupets an upset in Yooyuball the other day. The Faeries made sure that they were on their guard the whole time, and managed a first class win in Shootout Showdown. "We won't lie, that was our last shot at preventing a sweep," Kakoni Worrill of Team Faerieland stated with a sense of relief. That Slushie Slinging waitress of ours is a star." Team Shenkuu's Mirsha Grelinek said; "They had us worried for a short while," she laughed, pleased with the wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. "Their defence was top-notch in Yooyuball."

Team Kiko Lake meant business when they zipped up their coats and jackets to tackle Team Terror Mountain in the games. They were so prepared, in fact, that they won three out of four games! Holbie Pinnock was overjoyed. "Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown?! Yes, we officially rock!" Team Terror Mountain did not freeze in their own cave though, as they kept themselves going with a win in Slushie Slinger. "Gotta hand it to those Kikos, they know what they're doing." Rinok Fitel grinned.

Team Virtupets was shaken up as Team Krawk Island fired cannons at their space ships. The Space Station Squad was able to cause enough damage to the pirates' hull to secure wins in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise, but was not strong enough to prevent the Draw in Slushie Slinger. The pirates had the best sharpshooting skills, though, as they won Shootout Showdown. "If they thought they were sweepin' us, they were wrong!" Eayln Hawkshanks protested, waving a mini Jolly Roger. "Conclusion... Team Virtupets were victorious," XL Striker 3.8 said in his montonous voice.

The match was almost inconclusive between Teams Darigan Citadel and Kreludor as both Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger ended in a Draw and they both took a support game each. "Kreludor was faster on the draw in Shootout Showdown," Tandrak Shaye of DC explained over a game of dominoes. "But we had a much louder fanbase." Jurin T. from Team Kreludor said, "I guess we'll have to call it an overall tie. Definitely a fun match, though."

It was a split game between Team Tyrannia and Team Roo Island, but Tyrannia had the main victory with wins in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger. "Cluch Billaban from Roo Island looked a bit tired in goal," Wila Benne observed after the match. "I think he might have had too many Clockwork Yooyu encounters the previous day." Meanwhile the Rooligans won Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Clutch Billaban dismissed the claims from his opponent. "Nah, I think what the problem was, was that I was starting to molt my feathers, what with it bein' summer an' all. Some flew up into my face during the match."

Team Brightvale was not very pleased yesterday when Team Maraqua soaked all of those scrolls and they had to redo all of their profiles on the other teams. "It was an outrage! We spent hours during the off-season writing those player profiles. We're adding 'dirty play' to Team Maraqua's profile, for sure," an angry "Squeaky" Tressif complained in the locker room. Tonie Plessix from Maraqua sighed, "We swear, it was all Elon's idea! Don't hold that against us!" Team Maraqua won Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown against the scholars but could not best them in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise.

Sophie: What? No, I do not want a cup of tea, thank you. Right, well I suppose I'd better start talking about the Team Haunted Woods versus Team Mystery Island match, donn't I? I mean, that's the ONLY reason I've been invited to the VIP Booth, not just because I'm the most powerful witch in Neopia. Ha! Well, the Islanders had no coconuts against the Haunties, we totally dominated, no questions asked. I have to admit, the Islanders did a great job but they just didn't have the right frame of mind as the Haunted Woods players and supporters did. What?! No, I had absolutely NOTHING to do with the fact that Mortogs rained down on the pitch. That was an unforeseen random event. Anyway, I didn't need to use any magic during the games, the Haunted Woods had all of the talent and earnt that clean sweep on their own. I have to say, Krell Vitor is an amazing Captain, he completely deserved the MVP status from ACI. (What? I can follow Yooyuball, just because I'm locked up in a hut doesn't mean I don't have access to the Neopian Times and stuff.) Anyway, I must be off, I'm in the middle of concocting a potion to try and get my plants to flourish at home. The Haunted Woods likes to make any of my gardening attempts wilt and die, it's kind of annoying. Goodbye! *Poofs out*

The first of two sweeps went to Team Krawk Island as they were pitted against the fury of Team Roo Island. In the history of the Altador Cup, these two teams generally had the "one to watch" label stuck to their foreheads, and it is still the case these days. Even though the pirates took all four matches, it doesn't mean that it wasn't a worthy scuffle! "Blooming pirates," Jair Tollet of Roo Island scoffed playfully. "The match is ours!" Garven Hale roared after the results were posted.

Team Terror Mountain had the last of the clean sweeps yesterday in their match against the hardy Team Faerieland. Kakoni Worrill was not discouraged. "If you think being swept is the end of the road, you really need to pay more attention to our team. It has never broken us, nor will it ever." Prytariel of Terror Mountain said, "Taelia might be a bit miffed about Faerieland's loss but she's on our side, so that's okay."

Team Kiko Lake raced to victory against Team Altador, which earned them success in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Slushie Slinger went to the Altadorians, thus saving them from being swept like the slushie cartons off the fan stands. "Trapper" Remis said, "All for one and one for us!" Erli Quinnock from Kiko Lake turned to the gladiators saying, "Who wants a game of Tubular Kiko Racing on my handheld gaming device?" Team Altador jumped at the offer.

Team Tyrannia had a run for their Neopoints when they were up against Team Haunted Woods. Both Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown ended in a tie (sorry, Brains, your brain-chomping technique was a failure yesterday) and Tyrannia's fans rallied for their classic style victories in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Tyrannia was kind about the wins, though, and invited Team Haunted Woods to an after-game party. Was it fancy dress? We will never know.

The knights in Team Meridell had a ball against Team Lost Desert as they danced on the tables to draw Yooyuball and Make Some Noise, and were tough and able to defeat the Desert Squad in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Yoris Obbles of Meridell cheered, "In the name of King Skarl, we declare this match as ours!" Derbi Azar of Team Lost Desert cracked her knuckles. "Alright, it's almost the Second Round Robin. Watch out, we're gonna come back and bite you like a Cobrall."

Teams Maraqua and Darigan Citadel really had their work cut out for them as neither team secured the overall win for their match-up. With Draws in both Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, this left them to try and snatch the remaining two support games. Maraqua took Slushie Slinger (yes, Elon was thirsty, he helped himself to twenty of those) and Team Darigan Citadel stormed Make Some Noise. "Well, that was anti-climatic," Layton Vickles of DC said with a shrug as the teams returned to their locker rooms. Lamelle Turow of Maraqua said, "Who could've guessed that our results would be that close? Incredible."

The Steampunk Squad of Moltara really put up a fight against Team Brightvale as Slushie Slinger ended in a Draw. Yooyuball was awarded to the scholars but Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown went to the newly fuelled Team Moltara. "We're not as weak as some teams think, we're still capable of an upset," Vere Polnicek of the Moltarans said happily. Montecito was not too despondant about the results. "The way I see it is that we just need to play with much more focus next round."

Team Shenkuu managed to cause an upset against Team Virtupets yesterday that not even Dr. Sloth or the Wise Old Gnorbu could foretell. Shenkuu used all of their strength in Yooyuball to prove that they are still serious about the tournament, and even though the support games went to Virtupets, it just goes to show that there are still little gems in the rough waiting to shine. Xana DiLanche beamed. "That was AWESOME! Have you seen our team look so alive? It was amazing" Keetra Deile of Virtupets was proud of her team's support game sweep. "Our fans are still going strong! One loss of Yooyuball won't set us back much. Needless to say it was unexpected."

Gorix: Haha, Cylara, I got your tickets! Hello, everyone! I'm Gorix, you might remember me in the fight against Doctor Sloth. I'm gonna talk about the Team Kreludor versus Team Mystery Island match now. Well, Yooyuball was a treat to watch! The Grundo twins totally thwarted the Mystery Island defence, and Captain Derlyn Fonnet was completely on the ball. The stadium was very loud in the Make Some Noise competition, I had to wear earplugs for that one it was deafening! But Kreludor came away with a win in that one too :). Slushie Slinger was an interesting face-off. Both teams could not get the upper-hand and the waitresses served exactly the same amount of slushies to each team. Unfortunately for us, Shootout Showdown went to the Islanders but they did deserve it. By .30 of a second they won that game! It was excellent! Now, I've better run for it because Cylara is waiting outside, and if I'm mistaken she has a box with Meepits inside just waiting to munch my face for stealing her VIP Booth tickets... Seeya later!

Hello, happy people! The sun is shining here in Altador and no one can hear anything because Make Some Noise is going on. So let's press on with the Day 15 (June 15th) Altador Cup match report, shall we :).

Team Virtupets is the only team with a sweep yesterday. They pulled out all the stops against Team Brightvale and left no page unturned. Reb Weemelott was disappointed but said that the best scholars don't let a crumpled page get them down! Keetra Deile was so delighted with the result she treated her whole team to a Dr. Sloth three course meal after the match.

It was a good day for Team Darigan Citadel as they won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Kep Bonnefie flew five laps around the field after the result and high-fived Tandrak Shaye. Team Lost Desert won Slushie Slinger and celebrated with... slushies! "I'm starting to understand the underdogs now... you enjoy what victories you can," Vonde Cayle said reflectively, sipping a Tangerine Slushie. Words of wisdom indeed.

Team Faerieland swam with the fishes yesterday after Team Maraqua flooded their crater next to the Haunted Woods. The Maraquans won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Elon Hughlis was pleased again but we won't give him the glory with a quote, instead we bring you Oten Runeu; "Heh, they swam with the fishes. Good one. They're flying fish!" Oookay. Team Faerieland still won Slushie Slinger so not all was lost. Elbin Kroe said, "You know it's a good day when others laugh with you and not against you."

The gladiators were scared silly when Team Haunted Woods burst in howling on the field. This gave the Spooky Squad the advantage as they won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown (is anyone seeing a pattern with these match results?) Luckily Team Altador were not shaken enough to drop their slushies - earning them a stalwart win in Slushie Slinger. Winberto Seliz said, "I hate it when Krell howls, it gives me the creeps." Fanetti from Haunted Woods sniggered. "We're the best at sending shivers down our opponents' spines."

Team Kiko Lake could withstand the heat against Team Moltara yesterday, gaining the same pattern of results as the afore mentioned squads. The Kikos took Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. The Moltarans, in something opposite to their flaming auras, won Slushie Slinger. "Oh yeah! We're masters of the elements!" Zax Bannet cheered after the victory. Kiko Lake's Ditan Colb said, "I think Moltara can improve, they just need to channel their focus on the other games some more."

Team Roo Island had a rough time against Team Meridell but drew Make Some Noise and won Shootout Showdown. Fenny Vail said, "Not our best day but Fiorina was kind enough to paint my nails after the match." The knights won Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger, giving them the overall win. "Yeah, I offered to paint Fenny's nails after the match," Fiorina confirmed to us after the game. "Why not? The Rooligans are good sports."

Team Shenkuu had a good day yesterday by winning Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown against Team Mystery Island. "Sometimes you just need the right balance of motivation and energy to pull a sweet victory," Antola Maeir said happily, waving to his fans. "It's good to move up the ranks." The Islander took Slushie Slinger but equalled Shenkuu in Make Some Noise. "I think I need more time at the Training School," Volgoth mused, rubbing his chin thoughtfully.

Is there ice on the moon? There is now because Team Terror Mountain won all of the support games against Team Kreludor yesterday. Whilst the Kreludans won Yooyuball, they could not quite gain the friction needed to gain the footing against the Mountaineers. Nothing could quite stop the Lunar Squad from stealing those Snow Yooyus during the match. Celebratory slushies, anyone?

Ticket Vendor: [Translated from Tyrannian] Hello, Neopians. Why aren't you buying tickets for the Tyrannian Concert Hall? What? Yooyuball?! What witchery is...? Oh... It's a sport? Like marbles? Hello, everyone! How are those wrists coping with the Altador Cup? Let's hope there aren't too many admissions to the Neopian Hospital as a result of this xD. Today we bring you the match report for Day 14 (June 14th) of the tourney.

The first of a few sweeps went to Team Haunted Woods who gave Team Brightvale a fright they would never forget! "Braaaaiiiinsss..." Needless to say, Brains Mortigan had fun chasing the Brightvalian scholars around the pitch, so it was more of a hunt than a game of Yooyuball. "Someone needs to consider changing Brains' diet!" Orie Dinelle of Brightvale said pointedly towards the Haunted Woods' Captain.

The second sweep went to Team Virtupets who set their lasers to "kill" against Team Moltara. "If they thought they were getting a Draw or Win against us, they were so wrong!" Sela Pretore said competitively outside of the Coliseum. Tulah Kisner of Team Moltara pondered other tactics. "Maybe our team would do better if we were paid more?" That suggestion was directed straight at Moltara's team manager.

Team Kiko Lake would not be dominated by Team Darigan Citadel yesterday when they put up a great defence method against them. All of the support games were awarded to the scrappy Lakers whilst the Darigans held their own by securing Yooyuball as theirs. "The Kikos are excellent at causing an upset when they want to," Tandrak Shaye said, signing autographs for his adoring public. "It's very promising for the underdogs." "Poke" Cellers from Kiko lake said, "The only ones under the rockslide this year are Team DC!"

There were some rocky results from the Team Maraqua versus Team Roo Island match when two draws prevented the Maraquans from dominating the games. The draws happened in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. "No one wants Elon to have full boasting rights. It's just not cool," Gordo Gunnels of Team Roo Island said in a joking manner. Team Maraqua did have the match in their fins with wins in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. Lamelle Turow from Maraqua said, "It's still hard to adjust moving from the Lost Desert but I think the change is refreshing. We performed well!"

Team Mystery Island played under the sun yesterday as they challenged Team Altador on the pitch. Needless to say Altador managed to cause some upsets by drawing in Make Some Noise and winning Slushie Slinger! Lyvon Cibaire from Altador said, "We may not be the best in the tournament but this just proves that our potential is pending to shine!" Regardless of this, the Islanders had the upper-hand by winning Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. Vela Binal of Mystery Island cheered. "It's great when Altador steps up their game, it will make the second round more interesting."

In the Team Kreludor versus Team Meridell match, the knights were determined to cause as much damage as possible to the Kreludans' chances of winning the match. "We forced a draw in Yooyuball," Ilsa Ellits from Meridell explained over a cup of tea, "and made good with a win in Slushie Slinger. It was an honourable game." Kreludor did have the overall win, though, as they won Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. "Blasters are better than swords any day!" Zenor Kevix declared adamantly.

Team Lost Desert is keeping their heads up and their eyes set on a higher rank as they battled through the worst sandstorm they have ever encountered since ACI. Naturally the sandstorm came from Team Faerieland who won both Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise against them, whereas the Desert Squad retained their dignity as former champions by winning Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. "We won't deny that our performance has suffered a great deal since winning the trophy last season," Captain Leera Heggle of LD said in more of a mumble than a statement. "But I really am starting to believe in the 'Winner's Curse'." Team Faerieland's Valtonous Rea had this to say, "Lost Desert shouldn't feel ashamed of what's happened. This is just a knock-on effect from the rise of the underdogs."

T2 faced off yesterday (Team Terror Mountain versus Team Tyrannia) in an almost anti-climatic duel! The games were so close that the results almost ended in a four-way tie, but Terror Mountain managed to prevent that from happening by besting Team Tyrannia in Slushie Slinger. (They did WHAT now?! Tyrannia are the masters of Slushie Slinger!) So the match did go to the snowy squad but only by the thinnest snowflake of chance. The Referee of the tournament was astounded. "Honestly, I've never seen two teams rival each other so equally. Will this happen against in the Second Round Robin? It's hard to say!"

Hoban: Hello, people! I'm Hoban, the navigator from the Cyodrake's Gaze; more famous for being pushed overboard causing the forced set of circumstances that revealed Shenkuu to Neopia all those years ago. I have some free time on my hands since Captain Tuan went on holiday to Mystery Island for a week, so now I'm having a break from mending old maps. Today I'm here to talk about my team, Team Shenkuu, and their match against Team Krawk Island (who doesn't love a game between ninjas and pirates?) Hmm, well, unfortunately things didn't go too well for my team. Shenkuu actually buckled under the attack from the pirates, but you've gotta hand it to Mirsha and her squad, they do have a high endurance despite being swept... Krawk Island doesn't look the same without Dasher Soley in the picture. That new girl (Dinksy, is it?) seems to be quite talented, but I don't know, it seems like everyone can feel Dasher's absence. Team Shenkuu was very courteous about the four losses, though. I think after some meetings with their manager they're just trying to recover some footing after falling to Eleventh last year. Credibility seems to be their highest priority right now, can't say I blame them, the team suffered a fall as bad as mine from the deck of the Gaze - it's very hard to recover from! But I believe they can rebound in the future... we don't need stargazing to foresee that, just the will-power to succeed. I am proud to support my team :)! And Team Krawk Island... you had the honourable win. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some more matches to watch. (Keep going, Shenkuu! I heard the Emperor has not forgotten your past successes.)

It's Day 14 of the Altador Cup tournament and the Altador Cup Committee are pleased with the amount of Neopians flooding their VIP areas. now for the Day 13 (June 13th) match report!

Team Terror Mountain was the only one able to come away with a clean sweep yesterday and their victim was the molten hot Team Moltara. "They just can't stand the cold, poor guys," Prytariel, Captain of Terror Mountain, said sympathetically. "Quick! Get me in the Lava Pool!" Captain Aldric Beign was heard shouting after having been frozen in ice five times during that match.

Team Tyrannia had a good day against Team Faerieland, except for the fact that they drew Slushie Slinger which had become their trademark game. "We don't live off slushies!" Wila Benne of Tyrannia laughed, eating a Hairy Rock Burger. "That's silly." Ciona Broan of Team Faerieland said, "We weren't swept, so at least we have our dignity."

Whilst the main event, Yooyuball, was a draw, Team Darigan Citadel lost all of the support games to the spookylicious Team Haunted Woods. Captain Krell Vitor looked scandalised. "Spookylicious?! What kind of a word is that?" Captain Layton Vickles of Team DC shrugged. "I don't think that word exissstsssss..." Who doesn't love to confuse team members with nonsense xD?

Captain Elon Hughlis of Team Maraqua was pleased yesterday when his team won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown against Team Altador. Unfortunately for Elon (and much to the relief of everyone else) the Committee silenced him for 24 hours for inappropriate language. His teammates could be heard sighing with relief at this action, and Team Altador just found it hilarious! The gladiators happily came away with a win in Slushie Slinger.

Team Roo Island really put up a fight against Team Kreludor by drawing in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown respectfully. "Lilo and Jair were on fire," Clutch Billaban of the Rooligans commented in awe. "Kreludor were a tough team to fend off." Coco Metrone of Kreludor was as pleased as her teammates when the Lunar Squad won Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. "Sticky Glob Sticks for everyone!" she exclaimed.

Shenkuu took riverboarding to the Lost Desert by winning Yooyuball and Make Some Noise against the former champions. Xana DiLanche, Team Shenkuu's goalkeeper, seemed intrigued by the results. "Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed that Team Lost Desert is looking sluggish on the pitch? But on the bright side... WE WON!" The Desert Squad redeemed themselves with a win in Slushie Slinger and a draw in Shootout Showdown. "At least the fans are still with us," Rhee Solters of Team Lost Desert said happily.

Team Virtupets did Sloth proud again yesterday by winning Yooyuball and Make Some Noise against Team Mystery Island. They also drew in Slushie Slinger. "The Islanders caught us by surprise but it was an exciting game." Keetra Deile of Virtupets said, smiling. Mystery Island won Shootout Showdown. "Jhuidah thanked us in person for a great match," Bertie Shurtz beamed with pride.

Team Krawk Island won the match-up yesterday against Team Kiko Lake by claiming Yooyuball as their own and drawing Slushie Slinger. What they did not expect was for Kiko Lake to win both Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. "They always underestimate us," Holbie Pinnock said, smirking. The pirates shrugged it off and drank lots of grog to compensate.

Unfortunately Isca could not join us today in the VIP Booth because she has a terrible case of the Bubbles. Instead, we bring to you... King Skarl!
King Skarl: Yes, yes, hold your applause. Well, how convenient that I got to do the match report for my team versus my idiot brother's team (yes, YOU, Hagan!) and you know the best part? MY TEAM WON! YEAH, in your face, you Brightvale scum!

Who wants some cake :D?! It's Day 13 of the tournament and time for the Day 12 (June 12th) Altador Cup match report. There are three sweeps to report from yesterday, so let's get those balloons out!

Team Krawk Island swept Team Mystery Island yesterday in a bid to steal their thunder (and their scores). "You always have to be wary of those pirates," Teylor Nix commented, leaning against a wall. "You never know when they'll trick you." Nitri Cassale laughed in spite of this. "Ha! This just proves that us pirates will always have the upper-hand."

The only thing steaming after yesterday's match was Team Moltara's mood. Team Lost Desert took the second sweep of the day, with Captain Leera Heggle saying, "Nothing against Team Moltara, but that hardly felt like a workout." Tulah Kisner of Moltara retorted, "One of these days we'll pull a great upset to a team, just you wait."

Team Kreludor smiled as they came away with a clean sweep against Team Shenkuu. "I bet that Lunar Temple guy wagered correctly to see us win," Jurin T. of Kreludor said with a smirk. Larcy Phu of Shenkuu grit his teeth. "If I hear about that Wise Old Gnorbu again I'll --" His Captain, Mirsha Grelinek, quickly interjected: "No further comments. It was a fair match." This is the first time in Altador Cup history that Kreludor has beaten Shenkuu in Yooyuball!

Brynn would be pleased about yesterdays results from the Team Brighvale versus Faerieland match, where Team Brightvale came away with the overall win of all the support games and a draw in Yooyuball. "Squeaky" Tressif of Brightvale said, "No harm was done to the Faeries, we don't risk Captain Brynn of Fyora's Guard getting angry." Delma Harrence of Team Faerieland confirmed this. "They were quite courteous."

The sun blazed over Roo Island but that did not put the Rooligans off their match. Team Roo Island played expertly against Team Altador by winning Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. "Did someone mention that there was cake?" Gordo Gunnels of Roo Island asked eagerly, with a fork and plate at the ready. Yes, yes there is cake. "Gimme!" he exclaimed, racing to the refreshments stand. Salayne Ritad laughed, "Oh Gordo and his food. I could do with some cake too." Altador took a win in Slushie Slinger to the delight of their fans.

Team Haunted Woods played well against their opponents by drawing Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown and they won Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. Team Terror Mountain could not handle the chiller thrillers on the pitch. "I'll be honest... Wan Dirx scares me," Evrem Guilako from Terror Mountain admitted after the match. Wan from Haunted Woods cackled. "Sometimes spooking the opposition is the BEST tactic EVER."

The only Draw in the Team Darigan Citadel versus Team Tyrannia match was in Shootout Showdown, where both their star Forwards performed equally. Team Tyrannia won Slushie Slinger ("Naturally," remarked "Scrap" Taggart) while DC won Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. "95% of those that helped our Make Some Noise effort are Shaye Fevered fanatics," Layton Vickles commented knowingly.

It was a clean split between lake and ocean as Team Maraqua had the strongest wins in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger and Team Kiko Lake won Make Some Noise
and Shootout Showdown. "At least we had the strongest games!" Barit Jowes said gleefully. Ditan Colb from Kiko Lake was equally happy, "We got two wins over Maraqua! Hooray!"

Cylara: GORIX! I'm gonna shove you in the airlock when I find you! *Grumbles* Grr, I lost a bet to my friend Gorix and now I have to report about Team Virtupets' match rather than Team Kreludor's... FINE. Well, Team Virtupets were against Team Meridell in their match yesterday, but could not do very well against the knights. Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown went to Meridell, whilst Make Some Noise went to the Space Station. I can't say I was very interested in the match, I wanted to watch the Kreludor one, but Gorix stole my tickets!! But... in all fairness I can't say it wasn't an entertaining match. They all move very quickly on the pitch, it's incredible.

In the VIP Booth tomorrow will be none other than Isca! What will her visions foresee this time in the Altador Cup?

"It's all in the wrist action," Coco Metrone of Kreludor explained. Derbi Azar of Lost Desert said, "I didn't deserve that Red Card, it's outrageous!"

Three wins went to Team Mystery Island against Team Moltara yesterday. Moltara did not let them get the best of them, though, by winning Make Some Noise. "Our supporters are really revved up! It's fantastic," Aldric Beign beamed after the result. Bertie Shurtz of Mystery Island said, "Mumbo Pango happy now."

The pirates plundered wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown against the scholars yesterday. "They're a menace, that's what they are," Orie Dinelle from Brightvale said indignantly. Garven Hale from Krawk Island roared, "YEAH! We rule!"

The Rooligans were jumping for joy yesterday as they celebrated three wins against Team Faerieland. "The Faeries played very well and totally deserved their win in Slushie Slinger," Fenny Vail of Team Roo Island said happily. Elbin Kroe of Team Faerieland clapped. "Hey, since when has a loss kept the Faeries down?"

Wins in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise went to Team Haunted Woods against Team Kiko Lake, despite Brains almost losing an arm. "He was fine after some juicy Brain Muffins," Zo Junior explained dismissively. Shootout Showdown ended in a draw as the Kikos fought back. They also took the win in Slushie Slinger. "Why do our opponents continue to underestimate us?" Holbie Pinnock asked with a shrug. "Oh well, works for us."

Team Maraqua had one over the rockstars as they won Yooyuball and Drew Make Some Noise. "Elon avoided the wardrobe today but we kept him quiet with peanut butter," Lamelle Turow said sagely. Tyrannia still managed to dominate the side games again with wins in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Wila Benne said, "We rock!"

Team Virtupets emerged victorious with wins in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise against Team Darigan Citadel. "XL Striker is pleased - end statement." Three guesses who said that. Tandrak Shaye from Darigan Citadel sighed. "Honestly, who knew that robots would boast so much." DC won Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown."

Team Meridell paraded wins in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown against Team Shenkuu. Gregorino from Meridell said, "King Skarl might lower our taxes now! Yay!" (King Skarl dismissed these claims.) Foltaggio from Team Shenkuu said, "We drew in Yooyuball against the knights, it was a tough match but we did well!" Shenkuu had the rowdiest fans, though, and won Make Some Noise!

Taelia: Hello, dearest Neopians, I hope you are well! I have had the most wonderful time at this tournament, Illusen doesn't know what she is talking about. Then again, I am probably the only Faerie (aside from the Negg Faerie) who can withstand the cold. Ah, yes, Team Terror Mountain versus Team Altador... sun versus snow. Well, the sun did not melt the snow as my winter wonders won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. They did not win Slushie Slinger against Team Altador, which was disappointing because we have the Slushie Shop on Terror Mountain, but nevermind, it was a graceful win by the Altadorians. I have had an uplifting experience here in the Colosseum but I must be off. I believe there is a poor Poogle stuck in a crevice on the mountain who will need saving. Goodbye! *Poofs out*

There are three sweeps to report for Day 10 (June 10th) of the Altador Cup. The Crumpetmonger in Neovia would just like to remind everyone that she is still selling delicious scones and pies if anyone gets peckish during the matches.

Team Haunted Woods pulled a frightening victory against Team Lost Desert! Nothing could change the fact that when things got hairy, the Haunted Woods get scary. They managed to shake four wins out of their opponents.

Team Kreludor used lunar magic in their match against Team Moltara yesterday. They collected four wins and moonwalked out of the stadium happily. Team Moltara shrugged and waved at their fans. "We'll get back on our feet. Really, we will," Zax Bennett commented innocently.

Team Maraqua did not like gaining a draw against Team Mystery Island in Shootout Showdown, but were extremely happy with wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Slushie Slinger. The Islanders were disappointed because they hated to see Elon Hughlis' ego inflate more.

Team Shenkuu proved that ninjas are stronger than gladiators yesterday by winning Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Team Altador won Slushie Slinger respectfully. There were no hard feelings by the end of the match.

Team Virtupets was against Team Faerieland and rocketed away with wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Team Faerieland wasted no slushies though by slinging their way to victory in Slushie Slinger. The Faeries continue to fight back!

It was a strange split of results between Teams Darigan Citadel and Terror Mountain. The Referee had to call draws in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger, leaving DC as the overall winners in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Fans of both teams were stunned as both squads are tough contenders.

There were choppy results between Team Krawk Island and Team Meridell as Yooyuball ended in a draw and Meridell smited the pirates in Slushie Slinger. The pirates would not be defeated and secured the last two games (Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown) as their own.

It was a harder match to call between Teams Roo Island and Kiko Lake as both teams fought with all their might. The Rooligans took the match with a Yooyuball victory, but the draw in Make Some Noise managed to elevate Roo Island just high enough to earn that overall win. Team Kiko Lake valiantly earned their wins in Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown.

Brynn: GO TEAMS BRIGHTVALE AND FAERIELAND! Oh, sorry. Hi, I'm Brynn, Captain of Queen Fyora's Guard. You may remember me as the Kougra who keeps a certain Ixi thief in check from The Faeries' Ruin. As you can tell, I am divided between my two favourite teams, but seeing as I was aligned to Brightvale primarily in service, I will be reporting about the Team Brightvale versus Team Tyrannia match. Well, things went terribly for my team, Brightvale! I mean, COME ON, what was Kayn THINKING?! He should have thrown that Clockwork to the Tyrannians when they had the chance. *Huffs* Team Tyrannia SWEPT of all things, it was not pleasing. I was yelling really loudly too, we should have got Make Some Noise. I mean, really, it's a crime.
Hanso: Brynneth! Calm down.
Brynn: Shush, Hanso, I'm talking.
Hanso: You really need to take a loss more gracefully...
Brynn: Quiet! Brightvale deserved a win somewhere.
Hanso: Tyrannia deserved the win too, sweetheart.

Snow fell on Mystery Island when a blizzard blew in from the ominous Terror Mountain. It was so cold that even the Tiki Tack Man had to pack up shop and head home to a nice fire! Team Terror Mountain have been partying non-stop since last night. "Slushies are on us!" Prytariel proclaimed boistrously over party music. Team Mystery Island looked slightly anxious after being swept. "Mumbo Pango is not happy. Will his wrath reach our opponents first or us? We do not know," Lor Benneveldt from Team Mystery Island wondered nervously.

Team Tyrannia could not claim a sweep against Team Shenkuu as Captain Mirsha Grelinek put her whole strength into Shootout Showdown after they lost Yooyuball to the rockstars. "We can't afford to be swept again, it's a shame we didn't take Yooyuball but any victory is sweet right now," Mirsha said breathlessly after the match. Team Tyrannia won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise, giving them a solid victory. Harlis Neyhbol said, "Three outta four ain't bad."

Solar power did nothing against lunar light in yesterday's match between Team Altador and Team Kreludor. Altador took Slushie Slinger, but the rest went straight to the Kreludans. "Our fans just weren't that thirsty during the match," Captain Derlyn Fonnet explained with a shrug. "They deal well with long periods of time without fluids." Young Timu from Team Altador said, "Our fans spotted Kreludor's weakness and took advantage of that... it was a smart move! Go Altador!"

Team Faerieland claimed wins in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger yesterday, only to draw in Shootout Showdown against Team Moltara. Valtonous Rea of Faerieland said, "We really put our hearts into this match. Elbin is proving to be a great addition to the team and is settling in well. Team Moltara are doing a bit better this year." Mor Gollog of Team Moltara said, "At least the fans won Make Some Noise for us. Nothing beats thousands of Neopians calling your name!"

The pirates stormed the citadel yesterday and stole wins in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. Team Krawk Island lost Make Some Noise to Team Darigan Citadel, but forced a draw in Slushie Slinger. Tormo "The Terror" Frein from DC shook his fist at the pirates. "You aren't getting away with that, scallywags!" To which Team Krawk Island snickered and said that was only the beginning of their exploits.

Team Lost Desert had a very choppy set of results against Team Kiko Lake in a match that left them feeling a bit sick. "So many Kikos..." Vonde Cayle from Team Lost Desert groaned, lying down on a bench on the sidelines. "So many..." The Desert Squad won Yooyuball and drew in Make Some Noise, but Kiko Lake managed to win both Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Holbie Pinnock of Kiko Lake grinned widely. "You know, after Lost Desert boasted so many victories last year, it's kind of nice to be one-up over them this year."

Team Maraqua couldn't quite best Team Virtupets as they lost Make Some Noise and drew Yooyuball against the Space Station. "We locked Elon in his wardrobe for a few hours after that match until he calmed down," Tonie Plessix of Maraqua explained, facepalming. "He started talking rubbish so we had to take action." Sela Pretore of Virtupets giggled. "Elon is really funny sometimes after an unsettling result. More often than not he's a jerk but occasionally his attitude just makes me laugh. It was a good match." Maraqua won Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown, so at least Elon couldn't complain about those!

There were no real winners in the Haunted Woods versus Meridell match, as both teams drew in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise, leaving a win for Meridell in Slushie Slinger and a win for the Spooky Squad in Shootout Showdown. "Now THAT was an evenly matched game," Gregorio Maille from Meridell mused, looking at the results again. "It was really close." Zo Junior of the Haunted Woods had this to say, "The knights really took us by surprise! They had all the moves right, it was hard to match, but we managed it."

Today I'm taking a break from Dice-A-Roo to state my comments about my favourite team (Team Roo Island), and their opponents' (Team Brightvale) match. Hmm, well it's a lot faster than Dice-A-Roo but I have seen my team practice and they are very good at it! I always wonder whether Gordo Gunnels will eat the Practice Team during sign-up week. But nevermind! Naturally the Roos won... because we ROOl! And winning Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Slinger Slushies (oh, is it Slushie Slinger? Four clean sweeps can be announced from Day 8 (June 8th) of the Altador Cup. The Petpet Protections League (PPL) stresses that Clockwork Yooyus, although a newer breed of the petpet, do have a more volatile explosion, but they are still unharmed. The PPL does not meddle in the welfare of Yooyuballers and can only say that it's part of the thrill of Yooyuball to risk being blown halfway across the pitch by Clockwork Yooyus. Injuries have been on the rise ever since they were introduced this year with bigger explosions.

Team Terror Mountain needed no sugar to boost their energy in their match against Team Roo Island yesterday as they swept all of the games. "The problem here is that the Rooligans didn't take into account that we can recover faster from being frozen in ice than they can," Rinok from Terror Mountain explained. Jair Tollet of Roo Island sighed. "All these power-ups are exhausting! Ever been through Supersize to being frozen in quick succession? It really alters your performance on the pitch."

Team Maraqua had another sweep, but this time it was against Team Lost Desert. "Can someone please put a cork in Elon's mouth?" Captain Leera Heggle of LD complained, glaring at the Maraquan Captain. "He's been boasting or complaining for a whole week, it's getting unbearable." Elon was too elated to take notice of Leera and commenced his victory dance. "Oh yeah! I made the Desert swim with the fishes!"

Team Kreludor had a similar story to boast as they made Team Krawk Island eat their moon dust. "I'm liking these results were getting," Captain Derlyn Fonnet of Kreludor smiled, signing some autographs for her fans. "I can see celebrations going on for the next few days on Kreludor." Captain Garven Hale of Team Krawk Island was not going to let this get him down. "Nyeh... Maybe we shouldn't have stolen that gold from Geraptiku last season. I'm startin' t'believe it was cursed."

The final sweep went to Team Tyrannia who played Ugga Smash with Team Mystery Island's heads. "We won. Coconuts go bye-bye. Tyrannia is supreme!" Captain Loryche cheered, rocking out to some tunes from Sticks N Stones. Bertie Shurtz of Team Mystery Island looked unhappy. "You know, something tells me that this year will involve a lot of hard work to get into the Top Tier. I still can't catch those Fire Yooyus fast enough."

Team Darigan Citadel almost boasted a sweep, except for the fact that Team Moltara had been training extra hard in Slushie Slinger to force a Draw in the results. "Our Slushie Slinging Waitress has been practicing very hard during the off-season. She's only just getting warmed up!" Captain Aldric Beign of Moltara said with a wide grin. Tandrak Shaye of DC stated later on that he would have preferred to have another clean sweep.

The knights of Team Meridell was another team that just missed out on a clean sweep against Team Faerieland. "The Faeries are able to keep their heads above the water by really focusing on one or two games specifically. They drew against us in Shootout Showdown, but that's okay," Fiorina said happily, congratulating Fyora's Fighters. Delma Harrence of Team Faerieland punched the air elatedly. "Maybe we can managed to get much higher up the ranks this year if we really try."

Team Haunted Woods caused Team Shenkuu another upset by almost sweeping them yesterday. All three support games went to the Spooky Squad, leaving Shenkuu a slither of light with a Draw in Yooyuball. "AAAWWWOOOO!" Captain Krell Vitor of the Woods howled in delight. "Now that was a good match!" Captain Mirsha Grelinek of Shenkuu addressed her teams' fans; "All hope is not lost. I am so proud of you for remaining strong. The Cyodrake's Gaze crew never stopped looking for Hoban, and we shall not give up in the tournament. We will not be broken!"

Team Kiko Lake took Team Brightvale by surprise by winning all of the support games. "Kavi's speech the other day inspired us to keep on going and we did it! We got a support game sweep!" The scholars were able to hold their heads high with a victory in Yooyuball. "We weren't worried," Montecito from Brightvale said with a shifty look. "Nah, seriously, Yooyuball is the best type of win if we had to defeat our opponents in only one game."

King Altador: Greetings, loyal Altador Cup fans! *Waves regally* Of course I need no introduction but I am just dropping by to check on proceedings. I am going to leave some comments about the Team Altador versus Team Virtupets match. Now, I see no problems with Team Virtupets having robots on their squad, but some guidelines must be laid down. It is not okay for said robots to use a speed boost without a power-up. That is not the equivalent of running, it is an unfair advantage, but I am sure Captain Deile is sorting that out as we speak because she is a charming young Cybunny. Hmm, according to the scorekeeper, Team Virtupets won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Yes, that all seems in order, it was a clear win for the Space Station. My team's Slushie Slinging waitress deserves a pay rise after winning Slushie Slinger, though. Good show! If Team Altador is able to keep out of the Consolation Bracket this year, I might just consider giving them an extra week's holiday in the off-season this year. Good deeds will be rewarded. Anyway, I must be going. I can't seem to find that Darkest Faerie statue since Faerieland crashed a short while ago. Continue to enjoy the tournament, loyal fans!

It's like the Month of Celebrating in summer! We present to you the report for Day 7 (June 7th) of the Altador Cup. Hooray! There are three clean sweeps to mention today, what a treat! Except for those who got swept, in which case it's probably not so much as a treat than something else the Techo Super-Fan can yell about. Keep trying! It's only Day 8 after all.

Yesterday Team Kreludor challenged Team Brightvale to a game of Zurroball. After that inconclusive match they actually turned their attention to the Altador Cup and locked in an epic battle of quills and lasers! The Lunar Squad had the advantage, though, and claimed four wins. King Hagan had this to say; "Go away! I'm busy." Not the most enlightening of comments, but Forward player Reb Weemelott said, "You think you know how someone will act on the field... then they turn around a lob a Clockwork Yooyu into your face. That wasn't very nice of them." Reb was uninjured but Qlydae Wegg from Kreludor issued an apology. "I swear, I did not AIM for the head. It just ended up in that direction."

The next sweep of the day went to Team Tyrannia who weren't stopping for anyone! Team Altador could not rock the house, no matter how much of a light show they put on for the fans. Lyvon Cibaire from Altador said, "We had a fantastic strategy! How did it fail? I think we need to change our diets or something, that might help." Harlis Neyhbol on Team Tyrannia smirked. "No one knows this until now, but I'm an EXPERT at catching Mutant Yooyus. Lucky for me, there were three in this match."

Ninjas normally work well under the cover of darkness, but Darigan's minions had a way of preventing this. It resulted in the third clean sweep that day. "Like with Roo Island the day before, we noticed certain patterns in our opponents' behaviour on the pitch. We just had to be one step ahead of them and we were generally able to avoid them getting the Yooyu," Tandrak Shaye from Team Darigan Citadel explained wisely. "It's a gift," he added smugly. Foltaggio of Team Shenkuu addded, "Part of the reason why we failed was because we lost to Maraqua the day before. That and the Darigans are very strong this year. The match was intense."

Team Moltara couldn't keep up with Team Roo Island as they dominated Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. "I couldn't see which way they were going!" A frantic Aldric Beign exclaimed in reaction to the match. "They were everywhere! And the BELLS... They will give me nightmares." At least Aldric could be assured that Team Moltara won Make Some Noise. "I may be old," Clutch Billaban of the Rooligans stated, "but even I could hear the difference in crowd noise. Moltara definitely won that one."

Sloth's favourite squad went up against last year's champions and came away with transparent wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Weldar Xupenfarb from Team Virtupets had this to say, "If they can't stand the fire, they shouldn't have started it in the first place." (I think you got your metaphor wrong, Weldar!) Team Lost Desert were able to scramble a draw in Slushie Slinger but it was a far from desirable result. "Maybe we shouldn't have gotten rid of Lamelle..." Captain Leera Heggle mused in light of his player transfer at the start of this season.

Team Krawk Island got frost bite yesterday when Team Terror Mountain dumped them into the sea with wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. Not ones to go down without a fight, Team Krawk Island stole the most valuable win (Yooyuball) and parried a draw in Shootout Showdown. "I reckon if ol' Dash were 'ere, he'd have forced somethin' one way or another to get us another win," Captain Garven Hale wondered over some grog. "Oh well, they put up a good fight." Captain Prytariel of Terror Mountain could only smile at the result. "Our fans are performing extraordinarily! We couldn't be prouder."

Team Faerieland had one heck of a match to play against Team Kiko Lake, as it was almost a full set of draws across the board except for in Shootout Showdown where Meela Kitah had the stronger forearm. "That was one of the closest matches we have EVER played!" Ciona Broan of Faerieland exclaimed in shock. "It was really quite amazing."  Team Kiko Lake were too busy partying to send us a comment. Ah well, they deserve to have some fun after that struggle!

Team Maraqua wasn't too happy about a draw in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown against Team Haunted Woods yesterday (well, primarily Elon is the one who was upset over the results) but the fans carried the subterranean squad to victory with wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. "AGHFJK!" Captain Elon Hughlis exclaimed in a garbled mess of complaints. "How did we DRAW against THEM?!" Zo Junior of Team Haunted Woods could only chuckle in response. "Heh-heh. It's really entertaining when Elon throws a strop. I hope we can pull more of an upset next time we face Maraqua!"

Illusen: Oh hello! I'm Illusen, you may still have some quests to do for me. Meet me in Meridell later and I'll see what else I need. Today I will be speaking about the Team Meridell versus Team Mystery Island match. *Claps* Oh how fun! Well, my favourite team won Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown. Make Some Noise was too hard to declare, so the Referee deemed that a sraw. I have to say, after sitting here in the Colosseum, I really do miss my Glade. It was nice and peaceful and this is like a wall of sound! Jhudora would just say I'm being a wimp, but I like to sit down in the quiet with a nice book. I've actually just started reading Four Leaf Clovers - Fact or Fiction?, it is quite fascinating! Anyway, I must be going! Quests to give out and petpets to care for, you know the drill. Smile for the cameras because the press has arrived! Here's the report for Day 6 (June 6th) of the Altador Cup. Get those support banners waving because we have a whopping FOUR CLEAN SWEEPS to report about today! *le gasp*

The first sweep of the day goes to Team Maraqua who sent a tidal wave over the Shenkuu mountains, causing Team Shenkuu a disappointing defeat. "The Maraquans won fair and square," goalkeeper Xana DiLanche commented, still shaking after the bombardment of Fire Yooyus she had to deal with yesterday. "They put on a wonderful show." Naturally Captain Elon Hughlis claimed the spotlight once again to boast his team's success. "Who's got ninja skills? Coz they ain't." Yep, that sounds like the Elon we all love and hate, doesn't it?

Old rivals Team Darigan Citadel and Team Roo Island also had an extremely decisive battle on the field. The Darigans overpowered the Rooligans to retain four well-earnt wins. Reshar Collifey from DC said, "Can't say it matches the level of excitement from our rivalries in previous tournaments, but that probably has to do with the change in gameplay, but the Roos put up a good fight. Our Forwards just had to step-up their tactics a notch and it paid off." Meanwhile Roo Island Defender, Fenny Vail, said, "There are some days where being hyperactive can't help the team, no matter how many jelly beans you consumed before the match."

Snow fell on Brightvale yesterday as a bitter storm from Terror Mountain trapped the scholars in mortal peril. Team Terror Mountain became the third team to earn an undisputed clean sweep in their match against Team Brightvale yesterday. "I just don't understand. I could have sworn our fans were yelling louder," Orie Dinelle, Brightvale's goalkeeper, lamented as her team returned to their locker rooms yesterday. "I guess all of those Clockwork explosions are playing tricks on my mind." Meanwhile we had to translate Tyrannian for Terror Mountain player Evrem Guilako, who said, "This is the year where snow will win."

The final sweep went to Team Krawk Island as the pirates soundly defeated Team Moltara in all four games. "Sometimes magma and monoliths won't help a team," KI Defender, Nitri Cassale, said pointedly at the Moltarans. "What they need is more brute strength, and even though they look the part, they just aren't using that potential." Tulah Kisner of Team Moltara had this to say in response; "That doesn't give our opposing team the excuse to trip us over every two seconds!"

Avoiding a sweep, Team Faerieland ensured that they took a win in Slushie Slinger against famed Team Kreludor for their match-up. The Lunar Squad won the other three games but congratualted the Faeries for their tenacity. "They're still holding their ground," Captain Derlyn Fonnet said kindly to the press. "Nothing will keep them from a win of some form." Team Faerieland also exchanged nice comments about their opponents. "Kreludor gave it their all. They are still potentially good enough to place high this year," Elbin Kroe of Faerieland commented.

Team Lost Desert were determined not to lose Yooyuball to the Tyrannians and managed to stand their ground in the rockslide. Tyrannia retain their status as a support game powerhouse by winning all three side games. "The Deserts aren't so tough," Wila Benne said smugly by the end of the day. "We won more than them." Derbi Azar of Lost Desert shrugged. "They have nothing on us. Yooyuball is our priority. We just need to work harder next time."

Team Meridell could not be bested in their match yesterday. Team Altador barely escaped a clean sweep by pushing for that Draw in Make Some Noise - really calling to the Heroes for statistical safety. "When all else fails, yell louder," Salayne Ritad, Altador's goalie, said sagely about their game. Ilsa Ellits couldn't help but smile. "It's a shame we didn't quite get the clean sweep but the gladiators really bellowed their support yesterday. Altador must be proud... but our Meridellians are even prouder."

The Team Virtupets versus Team Haunted Woods match ended haphazardly with wins in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise going to Sloth's favourite squad, a win to Haunted Woods in Shootout Showdown, and a draw in Slushie Slinger as their waitresses served an equal amount of slushies that day. "VICTORY... BEEP... GOES TO TEAM VIRTUPETS... BEEP... TEAM VIRTUPETS... BEEP... FOR THE WIN!" Goltron Mk I from Virtupets stated in a tinny tone. Wan Dirx from Team Haunted Woods looked slightly annoyed. "XL Striker almost ran me over on the pitch! That was hardly fair, where was the Referee?!" He then calmed down and said, "Well, they did play well but I'm not happy about losing to them."

Kavi: I've taken a break from Tubular Kiko Racing to lay down some awesome comments about my fave team in the tournament. Team Kiko Lake went up against Team Mystery Island and really played their hearts out! I mean REALLY did, they were amazing. But they still managed to lose Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. I was cheering loads... LOADS but I think the Islanders had bigger lungs than us. I did my part for the team by visiting the slushie stand for Slushie Slinger, and we ended that game in a draw, so I'm happy those five Jumbleberry Slushies I bought helped the team, but the best part was when Meela Kitah won Shootout Showdown! No questions about it, that was more intense than sliding down a bunch of rapids in a rubber inflatable ring. I have to admit though, those Mystery Islanders know what they're doing. No messing around by dawdling about on the pitch for those guys, they just get stuck in there and play until there is no tomorrow. Go Team Kiko Lake! I want to see you in the top bracket this year! Whoo!

We're on the 6th day of the tournament, so here's the report for Day 5 (June 5th) of the Altador Cup. Today we have dragged invited most of the Yooyuball Team Captains to our couch (We have a couch?!) to talk about their matches yesterday!



For the first report of the day, we have Captain "Squeaky" Tressif from Team Brightvale and Captain Leera Heggle from Team Lost Desert talking about their results yesterday. Brightvale came away with wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise, leaving Lost Desert to steal Shootout Showdown.
Squeaky: I can't believe we managed to find Lost Desert's weakness...
Leera: What weakness? We're hard as nails!
Squeaky: You weren't yesterday, my friend! One win? I'm afraid you've inherited the "Winner's Curse".
Leera: We're just off to a rocky start! And you guys played well.
Squeaky: Thank you. But you can't deny that you're slipping.
Leera: I'm sure it's only temporary.
Squeaky: You keep telling yourself that.
Leera: *Grunts* Don't get smart with me just because you won the match! It doesn't mean that you won't fall and we won't rise further along the tournament.
Squeaky: Okay, I'm sorry, don't get sand in your pants! But you have to admit, we played really well.
Leera: I'll give you that one, Squeak. Why do they call you "Squeaky" anyway?
Squeaky: It's an inside joke.
Leera: Figures.



Captains "Poke" Cellers from Team Kiko Lake and "Wizard" Windelle from Team Meridell joined us next on the couch. Team Meridell emerged victorious with wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown but finished with a draw in Slushie Slinger against the Kikos.
Wizard: Our Yoris Obbles gets enough gip about being a JubJub goalkeeper, but you look at the Kikos and have to admit they're equally handicapped without any legs. They put on a good show yesterday, but we're just better in some areas of the games.
Poke: Lack of limbs doesn't come into this. I don't know why some Neopians have a problem with that, we play alright.
Wizard: Well Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise are fan games anyway. Because we, as Yooyuballers, don't partake in that part of the competition so it's fair game.
Poke: I can only apologise to the fans for not securing wins in Yooyuball or Shootout Showdown. I'll admit that my arms have been aching no thanks to the constant slinging of Yooyus all week. I need to talk to the medic about that.
Wizard: Well I hope you feel better, dear chap, you can't be running around this here field with a sore arm, it defeats the purpose of the match.
Poke: I'm well aware of that, Wizard.
Wizard: Very well then! Say, shall we grab a slushie before our matches today start?
Poke: Sounds good to me!
Wizard: Marvellous!



We are now joined by Captains "Trapper" Remis of Team Altador and Kakoni Worrill from Team Faerieland. Faerieland amazed their supporters by taking down the tournament hosts with wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Altador redeemed themselves with a victory in Slushie Slinger.
Trapper: Team Faerieland is definitely rising up the ranks this year, no doubts about it, but I just wish we hadn't got that Clockwork Yooyu in the last thirty seconds of the match!
Kakoni: I kind of feel bad for the gladiators. They try every year and still struggle to succeed. At least their hearts are in the right place.
Trapper: As much as I respect you, Kakoni, we don't need your sympathy. One day we will rise. And that day will be glorious!
Kakoni: Maybe you need to change your pitch formation? Or perhaps hire a new player?
Trapper: I'm in discussions with my manager right now. But hopefully we can figure out how to improve without too many drastic changes. I know you guys signed on Elbin Kroe, and he is a great player, but I'm not sure if a roster change is the way for us to go.
Kakoni: Well, I wish you the best of luck!
Trapper: You too, Kakoni. It must have been difficult after Faerieland crashed for you guys to get back into training.
Kakoni: I know! I'm so proud of my team for recovering so swiftly from that. I still have nightmares about it.



Captains Layton Vickles from Team Darigan Citadel and Volgoth from Team Mystery Island were the next to join us. The Darigans had the overall win with Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown ended in ties.
Volgoth: Not the greatest day for the island.
Layton: Aww, don't be bitter about it.
Volgoth: The Great Mumbo Pango won't be pleased.
Layton: Wasssn't he called Pango Pango?
Volgoth: No. *Shows picture* Mumbo Pango. He is BIG.
Layton: He'sss huge!
Volgoth: *Nods* He is not pleased with loss.
Layton: Just don't invite him to the tournament and you'll be fine.
Volgoth: He knows all.
Layton: I'm glad he doesssn't play for you guysss. We'd be doomed.
Volgoth: *Chuckles* Maybe we should hire him.
Layton: Ssssorry I mentioned it.
Volgoth: Do not worry, Hissi friend. He is too grand for the stadium.

On the couch next are Captains Lilo Blumario from Team Roo Island and Mirsha Grelinek from Team Shenkuu. The Rooligans claimed wins in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown and ended in a draw with Shenkuu in Slushie Slinger. Make Some Noise went to Shenkuu's rowdy fans. Despite the rocky results, both Captains were giggling constantly about the match.
Lilo: You should have seen their faces! My team just played "Catch" for a while with the Yooyus and Shenkuu was running all over the place!
Mirsha: You can talk! YOU scored against yourself with that Darigan Yooyu. The look on your face was priceless. The shock from your teammates was too funny!
Lilo: Yeah well, at least my Defenders didn't score an own goal.
Mirsha: That only happened because Jair tackled Antola right near my goal.
Lilo: He wasn't hurt, was he?
Mirsha: Just a bruise, nothing to fear, Lilo.
Lilo: You didn't have to whack me on the head with the Faerie Yooyu though!
Mirsha: That was an accident!
Lilo: Oh really? I just thought you wanted my attention.
They were both smirking by this point.
Mirsha: I love our matches together. It's the one time we can relax in the tournament and just enjoy it for what it is - a game.
Lilo: I wouldn't say that after a loss, personally, Mirsha.
Mirsha: No... but they are fun.
Lilo: Think the fans remember our alliance from the other years?
Mirsha: I hope so. We have nothing against you guys.
Lilo: Same here. But good sportsmanship is best all around anyway.
Mirsha: Can't agree with you more!



Captains Garven Hale from Team Krawk Island and Krell Vitor from Team Haunted Woods sat as far away from each other on the couch as they reflected on yesterday's match. Krawk Island won Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown whilst the Haunties won Make Some Noise and Drew Slushie Slinger with the pirates.
Krell: Why do I have to sit next to him?
Garven: Don't be sour because you lost.
Krell: That new girl of yours should've left poor Brains alone! He was literally in pieces by the end of the match! He spent the entire evening in medical care.
Garven: Sorry 'bout that, Krell. Yer need t'try a better glue on yer zombie.
Krell: Very funny, Hale.
Garven: Anyway, don't blame Dinksy! She was only doin' her job. The effects of a Clockwork Yooyu cannot be blamed on my players.
Krell: Ugh... You're right.
Garven: What was that?
Krell: Shut it.
Garven: Oh yer playin' THAT game now?
Krell: Wanna take this outside, pirate?!
Garven: Bring it on!
The Altador Cup Committee intervened at this point to tell them to take it to the Battledome AFTER the tournament or just resolve it all on the pitch in the Second Round Robin. The two Captains agreed to settle it over a game of Frumball.



The following two Captains on the couch are Keetra Deile from Team Virtupets and Prytariel from Team Terror Mountain. Virtupets thwarted Terror Mountain in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise whilst the Mountaineers took Slushie Slinger and Shootout Showdown.
Prytariel: I swear Dr. Sloth has something to do with their victories. They got WAY too many power-ups during that match.
Keetra: Oh you're just jealous because you didn't get the overall win.
Prytariel: I'm sorry but you shouldn't be allowed robots in this tournament! They rarely tire.
Keetra: They don't tire and the Committee isn't allowed to be prejudice to Neopians.
Prytariel: Yeah, well, I hope it rains.
Keetra: Why? So they'll cancel the upcoming matches?
Prytariel: No, so your robots will malfunction.
Keetra: That was cruel, Pry.
Prytariel: But I've gotta hand it to you, your team is well-oiled.
Keetra: Haha! Thank you. And your team is too cool.
Prytariel: And don't you forget it!



The final Captains on the couch are Captains Loryche from Team Tyrannia and Derlyn Fonnet from Team Kreludor. Both teams drew in Yooyuball and Make Some Noise. Tyrannia took their traditional win in Slushie Slinger whilst Kreludor won Shootout Showdown. Overall it was a draw.
Loryche: I really didn't expect THAT result.
Derlyn: It was pretty anti-climatic. I have no idea what happened.
Loryche: Neither of us won, did we?
Derlyn: Statistically we did not. We were equally matched. I have to hand it to you, Loryche, you were doing something right.
Loryche: I think both our teams were on form. What was your trick?
Derlyn: It might have something to do with a lot of Neocola before the match.
Loryche: Seriously?
Derlyn: No, I was lying, but I had you going for a minute! *Laughs*
Loryche: I just get my team to listen to Sticks N Stones music before the match. Motivates them a great deal.
Derlyn: We don't listen to music before the match. It distracts concentration from the game.
Loryche: Each to their own!



Garin: Hey, everyone! I'm a different type of Captain... Not the Yooyuball type like everyone else who spoke before me, but the PIRATING kind! No, I'm not reporting for Team Krawk Island - I'm a pirate but I supported Maraqua in their darkest hour against Captain Scarblade. My name is Garin, Captain of the most beautiful ship on the Neopian seas: The Black Pawkeet. Today I am reporting about the Team Maraqua versus Team Moltara match because SunnyNeo asked me to. Very well... *pockets some Dubloons*. I'd like to say it was a struggle against Moltara, but Team Maraqua was pretty much unrivalled against the Steampunk Squad. They SWEPT those opponents away like the waves sinkin' a ship with rotten wood. Not a single win for Team Moltara. I mean, they seem nice, they had some good moves on the pitch, and their fans had a set of lungs on 'em... but alas, they could not best the Maraquans. Elon Hughlis, Team Captain, had a right to boast yesterday. I know that Moltara didn't have a great start to the tournament last year, but they couldn't match Maraqua - no one can match Maraqua! (Yes I am completely biased.) But they can do better against other teams, I'm sure. Now if you'll excuse me, Jacques and I have some loot to seek out!

Time to put on your sun lotion as we bring you the match report for Day 4 (June 4th) of the Altador Cup. Don't forget about your poor P3s, Habitarium owners!

Gaining the only sweep of the day, Team Tyrannia cried victorious by taking four sound wins against Team Moltara. "It's not going to end up like last year, it's not going to end up like last year..." Vere Polnicek from Team Moltara was heard chanting quietly to herself. Fear not, Moltara, there is plenty of time for you to break out of old habits. "Scrap" Taggart from Tyrannia was feeling smug. "I'm getting a good feeling about this year for Team Tyrannia."

It was a disappointing day for the Roos when Team Virtupets put their robot programming to full capacity and processed three epic wins in Yooyuball, Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise! Team Roo Island's Captain, Lilo Blumario, was able to stand his ground by Drawing Shootout Showdown against Captain Keetra Deile of the opposing squad. "Team Virtupets is definitely rising up the ranks," Lilo remarked friendily. "They have newly found talent." Keetra smiled after hearing this. "The Rooligans still have great sportsmanship, it's fun playing against them. Especially when we win!"

In a war that has lasted since Captain Scarblade's reign of terror, Maraqua and Krawk Island clashed Maractite and steel in the stadium. Both teams were unable to best eachother at Yooyuball, but Team Maraqua had the upper-hand in the support games. "I was too slow," Captain Elon Hughlis grumbled to himself as he made his way to the locker rooms. "If I had timed it right with that Clockwork Yooyu, we would have had a clean sweep!" Ealyn Hawkshanks of Team Krawk Island refused to comment on the match. It was not worth mentioning.

The Darigan Citadel loomed ominously over majestic land of Altador, overcasting their day in shadow as their team won Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Tandrak Shaye beamed at his fans. "Sorry, Altador, no sun for you this week." Winberto Seliz, Altador's Centre Forward, sighed in relief at their win in Slushie Slinger. "Thankfully our Slushie Slinging waitress was on form! We owe her a lot for preventing DC getting the clean sweep!"

Team Kreludor moonwalked all over Kiko Lake by gaining the same result as Team Darigan Citadel - three wins minus Slushie Slinger that went to their opponents. Erli Quinnock of Kiko Lake said, "Well, they did place Second last year, the odds were kinda stacked against us." Jurin T. of Kreludor shrugged. "It's just a matter of odds and statistics. We were better than them. That's all it narrows down to."

It was the beach versus the desert yesterday and the Altador Cup Committee weren't too impressed about getting sand in their sandles! "Team Lost Desert is slipping," Teylor Nix of Team Mystery Island observed, brushing off some dust from his uniform. "Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown were in the bag for us almost immediately. Their fans stepped up their game, though, by drawing Make Some Noise and winning Slushie Slinger against us." Apparently the Desert folk were so thirsty, they made record sales that day! "I think Zeenana was the best seller," Vonde Cayle of Lost Desert mused.

The knights trudged throught the snowy tundra, bracing themselves against the bitter cold of Team Terror Mountain's offence, and finally managed to place that special Team Meridell flag at the summit of the mountain. The Meridellians won Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger, lost Make Some Noise (isn't shouting on a mountain considered dangerous?) and drew Shootout Showdown. "Good show, good show!" Captain "Wizard" Windelle clapped at the results. "We weren't afraid of them, honest!" Minae Mitora of Terror Mountain shook her head. "The knights got the best of us. Gotta hand it to them!"

The Ninjas took the scholars by surprise yesterday in a sneak attack that won them both Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. "I don't think that Brightvale's defenders realised what we were up to on the field," Antola Maeir sniggered, recalling the match. "Foltaggio had them on their toes and in Shootout Showdown Mirsha really showed them who was boss!" Not all was lost for Team Brightvale as they soundly defeated Team Shenkuu in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. "You win some, you lose some. It's just nice that it didn't rain during the match," Reb Weemelott said optimistically as he removed his Yooyuball Sling.

Hanso: Hey, guys! It's your favourite Ixi here. I've been allowed to do the coverage for the Faerieland versus Haunted Woods match. How nice! Well, seeing as I WAS there when Xandra crashed Faerieland right next-door to the Woods, it does seem fitting that I should be the one writing this part of the match report. Well, personally I was rooting for the Faeries - why, I AM employed by Queen Fyora now, of course - but, alas, we didn't win this time :(. I think that it was technically cheating when "Brains" Mortigan tackled Delma Harrence to try and eat her brains, he should have been given a Yellow Card for THAT! But somehow the ref. let Team Haunted Woods win in the end. Nevermind, better luck next time, Faeries! At least you managed to take Slushie Slinger, Fyora tells me that she is VERY pleased with the fans for that win. And can someone explain to me HOW we lost Make Some Noise? Our side of the stadium was packed! Now Kakoni Worrill was excellent in Shootout Showdown against Zo Junior, if I do say so myself! A whole TIE! Against one of the best forwards... whoa, I mean, I'm not trying to offend you, Kakoni, but he is statistically better on the pitch... to end in a tie on that game is amazing. Is that it? Do I really have to end this match report now? Aww, well have fun, everyone and GO TEAM FAERIELAND!
Brynn: I haven't joined a team, Hanso, my heart is divided between Brightvale and Faerieland!
Hanso: I can tell that! You look ridiculous with those Team Spirit Flags for Faerieland whilst wearing a Brightvale Jersey.

*Waves from the VIP Booth* Bet you wish you were here? Today we have the match report for Day 3 (June 3rd) of the Altador Cup. News just in! Ex-player of Team Faerieland (Babolino) has received a special honour from Queen Fyora on Fyora Day for services to Faerieland. Congratulations, Babolino! (Unfortunately we weren't told the details but I'm sure it's a good thing.) There are no clean sweeps to report about today.

There is one thing you should never do against Team Darigan Citadel... Never insult them because of their Orb! Team Brightvale made that mistake and lost out to Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. They managed to avoid a clean sweep by Drawing in Slushie Slinger. "I'm not apologising," Kayn Hirek said stubbornly, glaring at Captain Layton Vickles of the opposing team. "Especially not after they beat us." Layton sighed and added with boredom, "Always with the personal attacks. Can everyone just leave the Orb out of this?" Don't mess with the Orb!

A similar result was echoed in the Lost Desert versus Terror Mountain match, with the icy team defeating the sandy team with wins in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Like the DC versus BV match, they both tied in Slushie Slinger. "This is Terror Mountain's year. Everyone should take cover because we'll be sending an avalanche!" Rhee Solters, Lost Desert's newest player, had the following thing to say; "It's not been the best start to the season but we're tough from the desert, so the next team will need to watch out."

The knights of Meridell took to sea and sunk thanks to the Maraquan currents. "Unfortunately we couldn't dominate the Yooyuball field and lost out to Shootout Showdown as well," Captain "Wizard" Windelle of Team Meridell admitted, rubbing his neck awkwardly. "The fans managed to give the Maraquans a right ol' thrashing in Slushie Slinger but still managed to lose Make Some Noise. It was a sad day for us Meridellians but we take our hats off to Team Maraqua for a good game." Captain Elon Hughlis of the opposing team yelled, "And don't you forget it!"

With signs of the ye olde Haunted Moon alliance reanimating from the grave, Teams Haunted Woods and Kreludor howled together to end up with two wins and two losses each. Captain Derlyn Fonnet of Kreludor had this to say, "We got the overall win with Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, but the fans were no match for the Haunties in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. It was fun to face-off our old friends and who knows? This could be a good year for both of us." Brains Mortigan, Derlyn's penfriend and the Spooky Squad's Zombie Usul, only commented with, "Braaaaaiiinnnssss..." Ah, you joker, Brains!

The Kikos meant business yesterday when they faced the Ninjas in a battle that... didn't quite blow the audience out of the water, but it was still fun to watch. "Meela Kitah is a stealthy performer," Captain Mirsha Grelinek of Shenkuu said sincerely about the opposition. "Size is definitely an advantage for the Kikos and it was a well-played draw in Yooyuball." Team Shenkuu had taken the overall win, because they had won both Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Team Kiko Lake were quicker on the throw when it came to Slushie Slinger and stole that victory away from the Ninjas. "Anyone want a spare slushie?" Holbie Pinnock asked cheekily, staring at the floor in the Slushie Stand.

"Agh, no, get sparkles off me ship!" Captain Garven Hale exclaimed mid-match against Team Faerieland as Team Krawk Island went head-to-head with them yesterday. The pirates, albeit tougher than most teams, were unable to plunder wins in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise. "The crowds were of equal volume," Ciona Broan of Team Faerieland stated to the press. "But our Slushie Slinging waitress was much more agile than the pirates' one. We're very pleased with the win." It was Team Krawk Island who came home with the prize with sounds wins in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. "No Faerie will stop us," Zayle Sufhaux claimed with a glint in his eye.

Team Roo Island managed to kick sand into their opponents' eyes when they scraped the win in yesterday's match against Mystery Island, dominating Yooyuball. "Unfortunately we couldn't seal a flawless victory, because the Islanders fairly matched us in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise," Jair Tollet of Roo Island explained calmly. "It's a shame that we lost Shootout Showdown but we can always rally in the next match." Volgoth, Captain of Team Mystery Island, said that the Rooligans are a tough team to play, but it won't mean they will win in the next round!

Team Tyrannia managed to almost support game sweep Team Virtupets yesterday, except they came up short in Make Some Noise as the Colosseum resounded with an equal amount of cheers on either side of the field, ending in a draw for that game. Team Virtupets won the main event, Yooyuball, thanks to the undisputed system upgrades that XL Striker 3.8 had undergone during the off-season. "I FEEL FANTASTIC," XL Striker exclaimed in his monotony. I'm sure you do, Striker, it must be easy for you to handle those Clockwork Yooyu explosions! "AFFIRMATIVE." Needless to say, Tyrannia is still looking at retaining their support game powerhouse status.

And last but not least we arrive at the final match of the day, Team Altador versus Team Moltara. Now many of you will remember that these two teams combatted in the Consolation Bracket in ACV for 17th and 18th Place. Today Moltara was able to get their revenge on the Sun Squad by winning Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. "The hosts of the tournament really need to step-up their game," Mor Gollog, Moltara's goalkeeper, stated matter-of-factly. "If we could do it, there's no reason why they can't." Team Altador's Timu had this to say, "Moltara are starting to show their potential now. I think the changes to Yooyuball made it fair on everyone."

Other news' just in. Hanso (Master Thief who saved Faerieland, you may remember him from The Faeries' Ruin plot?) has decided to watch a few days worth of matches in the Colosseum before he goes back to artefact hunting with Brynn! What a treat. Be sure to look out for him in the VIP Booth!

Hello, Altador Cup fanatics (and casual participants)! Today we have the match report for Day 2 (June 2nd) of the Altador Cup. There are a few notices up in the Colosseum about littering. Try not to do it, the Altador Cup Committee has stated that they do not pay the Yurble Janitor overtime, so it's rather inconsiderate leaving slushie cartons all over the floor whilst he has to clean it up. Then again, he is receiving a new mop upgrade, so those floors should be sparkling when you arrive each day to watch the games. Great job, Mr. Yurble Janitor guy!

The first of two sweeps from yesterday goes to Team Tyrannia who caught Team Kiko Lake at unawares with some Stone Age trickery. The Lakers could not keep up with the pace of the rockstars and ended up as the supporting act. Holbie Pinnock from Kiko Lake said, "Tyrannia, much like Terror Mountain, is looking like a very promising team this year. We'll be focusing more on our other matches, so the fans don't need to worry about this one loss." Slushies all around for the Tyrannians, though!

The second sweep went to the scholars as Team Brightvale destroyed the Altadorian archives (figuritively speaking of course *eyes King Altador warily*) taking four smashing wins against Team Altador. Timu from Altador folded her arms as she remarked on the sweep. "I just don't understand. That Faerie Yooyu was all over the place, none of us could get control of the thing!" On the other hand, Orie Dinelle from Team Brightvale was elated as she exclaimed, "Team Brightvale for the win!"

It was the Sakhmetians versus the Pirates yesterday in a whirlwind contest that called Krawk Island as the victors. Team Lost Desert may have inherited the "Winner's Curse" but it is still too early to tell. Feldon "Dinsky" Collibridge, KI's newest player, had this to say; "I know all the fans miss Dasher greatly, but we have proven that we are still a strong team! We can do it!" Leera Heggle from the Lost Desert refused to comment but was pleased that Slushie Slinger turned in his teams' favour.

In a match that pit ghastly ghouls against happy-go-lucky Neopians, it was a support game victory to Team Haunted Woods and an honourable draw in Yooyuball against Team Roo Island. Fanetti, the Haunted Woods' goalkeeper, had this to say to the fans; "Those Rooligans are too happy! But it's incredible how a loss hasn't dampened their spirits." Fenny Vail, the Roo Island Defender, replied to that comment; "The Spooky Squad could really live up a bit. But it was still interesting to play against them despite the fact they kept on freezing us in ice!"

Team Mystery Island, home of mr. Coconut, stepped on an unexpected result yesterday as they faced Team Faerieland. Although the Islanders took home wins in Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown, the Faeries rallied and drew in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise! Kakoni Worrill (Captain of Team Faerieland) was thrilled with his team supporters. "Now this is looking to be a great year for Team Faerieland!" Volgoth, Captain of Team Mystery Island, agreed that Fyora's Fighters were putting their immense team spirit to good use.

Now we visit a pinnacle match-up that happened between Team Virtupets and Team Kreludor. Both Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown ended in a tie, but the overall winners were Team Virtupets for securing victories in Make Some Noise and Slushie Slinger. "The Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown contests were too close to call," the Referee explained after the match. "But Virtupets pulled a significant win in the support games. These two teams are quite well-matched." Zenor Kevix, Kreludor's Right Forward, congratulated his opponents. "I have to agree that it was an astronomical match and I can't wait for us to beat Virtupets in the second round!"

Team Moltara sped on with full steam yesterday in their match against Team Shenkuu. Both teams were recovering from being swept on the first day of the tournament, so neither of them wanted to lose. Moltara's fans rallied enough to equal Shenkuu's score in Slushie Slinger, Make Some Noise AND Shootout Showdown. "Neither of us could afford to lose," Captain Aldric Beign of Team Moltara stated formally to the press. "The Ninjas really wanted to return to their former glory and we just wanted to get some kind of foothold up the ranks after last year's finish." Shenkuu did take the overall win with Yooyuball. Larcy Phu had this to say; "When two teams face each other after having been swept, all the stops come out. Moltara played extremely well and we're proud of our fans for rising to that challenge."

King Skarl of Meridell spoke immediately on behalf of his team. "See that, Lord Darigan? My knights beat your minions in Yooyuball AND Slushie Slinger. Team Meridell will see to it that you don't end up in the Top Four again - hmph!" To which Lord Darigan retorted, "Your team LOST Make Some Noise and Drew in Shootout Showdown. You can only boast if you SWEEP Team Darigan Citadel, fool." It was at this point the Yooyuball squads interjected. "Uh... just ignore them. Great game, Darigans!" Ilsa Ellits of Meridell apologised to the fans and their opponents. Kep Bonndfie from Darigan Citadel returned the good wishes. "Ah, this loss won't stop us. We'll get our own back the next time we face-off."

And our last report of the day goes to Team Terror Mountain versus Team Maraqua with a haphazard set of results. The wintery squad gained an overall win by ploughing Maraqua in Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise, but scrambled a Draw in Yooyuball along with a loss in Shootout Showdown. "Elon was determined to win Shootout Showdown," Osielle Lidel from Terror Mountain commented from the sidelines. "He hated the loss in Yooyuball, but it's nice to freeze their progress with a little victory for ourselves. Yay Terror Mountain" Oten Runeu of Maraqua could not disagree with that! "Elon hates losing. He will be very angry during the next match so our opponents had better watch their backs!"

Day 3 is here already? Time flies! Time to get those Yooyuball slings back on to head out to the field, teams. ACVI will be tournament history.

Ah the tournament season, you've gotta love it even if you hate it! (Wait, that makes no sense...) Anyway, here is the first match report of the season for Day 1 (June 1st) of the Altador Cup. A special shoutout to the Altador Cup Committee for the changes to the Yooyuball game rules: Look out for the Techo Super-Fan, he isn't too pleased with the changes to Yooyuball... That or he's yelling because he got brain freeze from too many slushies. Fortunately the Altadorian security guards have managed to convince some of the supporters to enjoy the event despite the changes. After all, it's the teams who have to run around the pitch, not the lovely Neopians who cheer from their seats in the Colosseum. There are two clean sweeps to report from yesterday's matches so let's get on with the report!

First off, we have Haunted Woods versus Team Moltara. The Spooky Squad could not resist the urge to steamroll the Steampunk Squad into the gritty playing field. The Haunties were in good spirits after they took home four wins. Naturally the Moltarans weren't happy about the result but are determined to rid themselves of the underdog status they acquired from last year. Aldric Beign explained, "It's that darn Darigan Yooyu! It gets us every time."

The second sweep of the day went to Team Terror Mountain who snowed in Team Shenkuu. Not the greatest start of the tournament for the Ninjas, but they are not going to let one sweep ruin their tournament. "We're all getting used to the Committee's new rules," Foltaggio from Shenkuu explained after the results were announced. "The Mountaineers improved significantly over the off-season, it was an exciting match." Prytariel from Terror Mountain later said that the secret to their success was stealing the power-ups on the field before their opponents could.

Team Darigan Citadel snagged three wins from Team Faerieland yesterday in Yooyuball, Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. "The Faeries still need to work on their Yooyuball, but they deserved the win in Slushie Slinger," Captain Layton Vickles said casually to the fans. "No one should underestimate them." Elbin Kroe, the newly assigned player to Faerieland, told us of his experience with Fyora's Fighters. "This is a breath of fresh air. I hope I can help them secure that win in Yooyuball one day."

Another team that lost Slushie Slinger but won all the rest of the games was Team Virtupets. The Space Squad faced Team Kiko Lake in a bid to start the year off with a bang. Keetra Deile of Virtupets said, "We were thinking about sneaking some Unstable Slime onto the pitch but then decided that we're good enough without it." Ditan Colb from Kiko Lake shrugged in response to this. "The fans were thirsty, that's why Slushie Slinger was our best game. Hopefully we'll perform better as the tournament goes along."

The result echoed for Team Krawk Island who sailed through three wins, losing Slushie Slinger to Team Altador. "Jus' goes t'show that even though ol' Dash has retired, the pirates fight fer the gold as usual," Captain Garven Hale mused happily. Team Altador felt disappointed that they had not performed better with the changes to Yooyuball and hope that their next match will be a ray of light for them.

The scholars of Brightvale almost swept Team Mystery Island, if it hadn't been a tie in Yooyuball. "Squeaky" Tressif, Captain of Team Brightvale, stated, "So close! If we had grabbed that supersize power-up before the last few seconds ran out we would've secured the sweep." Meanwhile, Bertie Shurtz from Team Mystery Island has risen to fame in the Top Goal Scorers list! "The Kougra is gonna limbo to victory!" she cheered, punching the air happily. Although she has dropped a few places, she did hold first place for a while.

Team Kreludor is fighting strong as they outshone the sea against Team Maraqua. They waxed the games with a win in Yooyuball and Slushie Slinger whilst taking an honourary Draw in Make Some Noise and Shootout Showdown. Captain Elon Hughlis from Maraqua was miffed about the loss but boasts, "I'm the Top Goal Scorer so they can shut up." And he wonders why Dorina Hals left...

The rising rockstars from Tyrannia have proven that new addition, "Spikes" Barmie, is not one to mess with on the pitch as he helped take down the knights of Meridell yesterday. "He may only know how to speak Tyrannian, but his work on the pitch needs no words, he was amazing!" Captain Loryche of Tyrannia chimed about her new player. "The fans drew Slushie Slinger with us and unfortunately they weren't as lively as the Meridellians, but it was fun!"

Finally there is the match between the defending champs, Team Lost Desert, and the plucky little powerhouse from Roo Island. The Rooligans are determined to keep their performance levels up and proved this by winning Yooyuball and Shootout Showdown. Captain Lilo Blumario had a bounce in his step as he said, "That match wasn't so bad. So we lost Slushie Slinger and Make Some Noise? This is a really good start to the year." Lost Desert's Derbi Azar shrugged. "The Rooligans played well but it won't be long before we sweep our next unsuspecting opponents!"

So there you have it! The first day is over with, good luck in your matches today and don't despair if you lost, there is still plenty of time for your team to turn things around.

Good luck to everyone in the tournament! Altador Cup VI will be an interesting event to be a part of.

Welcome to Day 1 (June 1st) of the Altador Cup, where no match results are posted because there are no results to talk about! As the matches go on today, we spoke to some of the teams and notable Neopians from their represented lands to get into the tournament spirit!

First up, we have Team Altador. Despite being the hosts of the tournament, Team Altador has never really lived up to the game they created. So, in a bid to shake things up, the Altador Cup Committee changed the rules on the pitch to make Yooyuball more challenging for the participants. The Committee released this statement; "It's fun to stir up the game. Hopefully our homeland will stand a better chance for the trophy by upping the ante this year. No team will have the advantage this way. The ones who do not adapt to change will fall."

Next come Team Brightvale (AKA Brightvalue thanks to a typo) who are determined to show that knowledge is power! "We've got player profiles for everyone. The only downside is that we cannot predict how well the opposition will do in terms of roster changes, because we do not know the player profiles of the rookies," Team Captain "Squeaky" Tressif announced to the world. "No worries, we will be watching closely with a scribe nearby to record the matches in shorthand."

Team Darigan Citadel felt alive again after taking Third Place in Altador Cup V. Tandrak Shaye (fan favourite) stated that he loved playing Yooyuball but did not enjoy being mobbed by fangirls or fanboys every two seconds. "I love my fans, really," he said calmly to the Neovian Press lady who had turned up on his doorstep with a photograph to sign. " But I do not like it when they follow me to the grocery store. I mean, it's hardly interesting to see me buying groceries, so please just restrict your fandom to the Colosseum!" After this statement he was seen running for the hills as an obsessive mob of fangirls chased him for autographs. Just another day in the life of Shaye!

Team Faerieland is back, despite their homeland crashing literally next to the Haunted Woods! They got nice new kits, and a friendly new addition to the team in the form of Elbin Kroe (formerly on Terror Mountain and Tyrannia). "Babolino wanted a break, so we signed-up Elbin Kroe who has fast become the most wanted player. He has talent for such a young player! Fyora herself asked him to join. Hopefully we will rise in the standings this year with the extra experience." The Faeries did like the shorter timespan of travelling from Faerieland to Altador, as living next to the Haunted Woods has that advantage. "We travelled to the stadium with Team Haunted Woods. It was a pleasant experience, if you discounted the fact that Brains wanted to eat our heads," Delma Harrence later reported.

Team Haunted Woods all asked the question with a huge exclamation mark: "Brains" Mortigan and Derlyn Fonnet are PENFRIENDS?! Krell Vitor from Team Haunted Woods released another statement: "I have no idea what Brains and Derlyn have been discussing. I didn't even know the zombie could WRITE! Just goes to show that you think you know someone and WHAM... they aren't as dumb as you think they are." He then added as an afterthought. "Oh, I think Derlyn was just messing with the fans. I've heard she likes the publicity." In other news, Zo Junior has been practicing a new victory breakdance routine for winning a match.

The Kikos from Team Kiko Lake aren't backing down either. Their Captain "Poke" Cellers expressed excitement immediately after ACV had ended. "No we won't get caught in another rock slide! We've completely changed our route to the tournament. We can't wait to meet our colleagues again. After the shake-up we caused last year, we hope to perform even better THIS year." Meela Kitah added this comment; "We might not be the most popular species in Neopia but we sure know how to put up a fight!"

"Dasher" Soley's retirement from Team Krawk Island shocked fans because he actually did it! "I know, weird right?" Captain Garven Hale said in bemusement to our reporters. "No one ever thought he'd go. But he likes to try somethin' new every now an' again. We may see him return one day." He then said in regards to their newest player, Feldon "Dinksy" Collibridge; "Dinksy is cool. If we all give her a chance she may fast become our next star player... And no, no one will ever replace ol' Dash in our hearts, but thin air won't suffice either, so a real replacement is kinda required."

Despite the odd news that Derlyn Fonnet (Team Captain) of Team Kreludor was writing to Team Haunted Woods' "Brains" Mortigan, Team Kreludor were having a lot of fun in their new top security training grounds. "It's great!" Coco Metrone exclaimed, talking to us over a videophone link. "No one will sabotage us like in Altador Cup II! And as for Derlyn and "Brains" corresponding? No clue. How does one send a letter by Weewoo into space?" Derlyn later replied, "Will everyone just stay out of my private life? I can chat to a zombie if I wanna."

Team Lost Desert proudly got to take home the Altador Cup last season, and are not discouraged by the transfer of Lamelle Turow for Rhee Solters at all! "Rhee is pretty fun. She's awesome at playing Scarab 21 and knows how to party! Lamelle will be missed a lot but he found fresher waters so to speak." Ha, funny, Leera! "Vonde says that Rhee is annoying. But don't expect any conflict to arise, I know what you media types are like!" He said this immediately after exiting his home and was chased through the streets of Sakhmet for apparently stealing someone's Ummagine Juice. Captain Leera Heggle countermanded that information by swearing he had nothing to do with it!

Meanwhile Team Maraqua was adjusting to the sudden departure of Dorina Hals and the addition of Team Lost Desert's Lamelle Turow. Captain Elon "The Black Hole" Hughlis expressed his fond wishes to ex-player Dorina: "She doesn't know what she's missing!" Elon scoffed, patting Lamelle on the back. "We're gonna win this year and she just left the Cup entirely." Dorina came back with a retort not long after we spoke to Elon. She said, "Jair Tollet was the smart one for leaving the team after ACI to join Team Roo Island. I guess Elon just wants an all-guy team. Fine by me, I can focus on my own life for a while. I'll consider returning but don't hold your breath."

King Skarl drummed his fingers on his throne as he provided us with a statement on behalf of Team Meridell: "My team is far more superior than Hagan's lot! Mark my words, Brightvale, the knights are better than you lowly scribes!" He did not comment on our query about Yoris Obbles' lack of arms considering he is a goalkeeper and shot another retort at his brother. "Hagan, did you put them up for this? My goalie is better than yours because he's unique! Beat that, yer lousy Slorg." Fiorina barged in with ruffled feathers announcing that Yoris was mistaken for a Yooyu again and got lost over the castle wall. Skarl immediately facepalmed.

Team Moltara might have placed last in their debut year in ACV, but the steampunk squad feel more at ease with the Altador Cup Committee's new Yooyuball format. "It's a fresh page for everyone," Aldric Beign (Captain) stated casually as he ordered some food at Moltaran Morsels. "It might just knock some of those old powerhouses down a peg or two. Can't be sure, it's anyone's game this year!" Teammate Tulah Kisner had spent her entire nights dreaming about Yooyuball formations and strategies, hoping to outshine her Captain on the field.

Bertie Shurtz from Team Mystery Island sipped a Green Iced Tea on the Mystery Island beach as she said, "Our mascot? Got to be mr. Coconut! He's done wonders for the economy. The only annoying thing is that we all have to put up with tourists shouting 'GOOD NIGHT!' every time they see a random coconut. It gets old." She then had this to say, "Oh, by the way, Volgoth has a secret plan up his sleeve for this year's tournament. The other teams should be careful." The team enjoyed their last moment of bliss before catching the boat to Altador.

Lilo Blumario, Captain of Team Roo Island, was thrilled with his team's performance. "Once you're in the Top Four, you never look back! Our team always plays for fun and if we feel tired, we'll just give ourselves some energy with sugar. It's foolpROOf!" The Rooligans love their sweets, there's nothing secret about that. It was the first thing Jair Tollet learned about the team when she joined in ACII. "They're my best friends. Elon from Maraqua was a very selfish Captain, and still is. At least Lilo treats us fairly and we have the BEST parties in the world." Invite me, please!

Team Shenkuu became quite annoyed when the Lunar Temple's Wise Old Gnorbu stole their off-season spotlight prior to sign-up week. "I know we hold the elderly dear in Shenkuu," Captain Mirsha Grelinek stated rather tensely, "but he had no reason to intercept our pre-tournament message to our fans. His talk about his betting techniques on our squad in light of Kreludor waxing or waning was unacceptable! We really wanted to speak to the fans after placing Eleventh to remind everyone to enjoy themselves, but he just HAD to steal the limelight. Our manager is filing a lawsuit against him for blocking our communications." Shenkuu prays that their fans will continue to support them, especially through the difficult Yooyuball alterations.

Team Terror Mountain feels ready to take the competition by storm! "Ha, a freeze opponents power-up. Who knew?" Rinok laughed, reading through the new set of gaming rules. "Now that's one advantage we have over our opponents, we live amongst ice." And being a Bori, Rinok probably knows all about being encased in ice (ooh, burn!) In all seriousness, that in itself is probably an advantage. "It's nothing new to us Bori," he said whilst sipping a slushie. "What's a couple of seconds encased in ice when we spent centuries in the stuff? I mean, my teammates might struggle with that if it's used against us, but I know I'll be fine."

Team Tyrannia has spent most of the off-season trying to train up their newest player "Spikes" Barmie along with teaching him to speak standard Neopian. Loryche informed us; "Poor Spikes only speaks native Tyrannian, and is a bit skittish around the other players. I'm not sure how he'll fair in front of a huge audience but I'm hoping he'll be fine. Just be warned, he's brilliant at tackling and loves to steal the Yooyu." She then referred to their Slushie Slinging skills. "Hmm, I think this year will be tough on our fans when it comes to Slushie Slinger. Something tells me that the competition will be much harder for the support games as everyone adapts to this new style of Yooyuball."

And last but not least, Team Virtupets is really feeling revved up about their chances in the tournament. "XL Striker 3.8 is up-to-date and fully functioning. After last year I feel that we can give our best performance yet!" Team Captain Keetra Deile stated happily from her quarters in Virtupets Space Station. "No one expected us to do very well, but this year we're trying to ground ourselves as powerhouses. Got to make Dr. Sloth proud after all!" Then came the inevitable fizzing sound of a robot malfunctioning and XL Striker started spinning around in circles uncontrollably. "Guess there are still a few bugs to work out."
