Introduction:
On an unrelated note, I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Jay and I just recently joined the SunnyNeo staff. I'll be here to help out with getting pet models and image models. Just trying to help finish up the closet here so that you will be able to better dress up your pets. The battle has begun!  There are challengers to fight at the Mysterious Obelisk.  It also appears there are achievements to earn.

Battle cries ring out as blades clash and Novas fly through the air.  The obelisk sits silently in the middle, waiting patiently for a victor to emerge...

The SunnyNeo Plot Coverage will be updated as we watch the first day of the battle unfold.

It also appears that Neopets is a bit broken at the moment, so watch your step.

There's no way these factions can come to any kind of rational agreement. It's going to be war! But that's not the issue here. The question is... which side will YOU fight for?

Just when we thought it couldn't get any more crowded at the Mysterious Obelisk, zombies and monsters and ghosts, OH MY! We heard that each faction is taking volunteers to fight for their cause. "Lucky" Neopians will be able to swear their loyalty to the Thieves Guild, The Sway, the Order of the Red Erisim, the Brute Squad, theSeekers, or the Awakened. Which one will YOU pick? You can make your choice starting tonight, but choose wisely!

So it looks like we will be able to choose a team to join very soon. Not sure which team to choose yet? We have guide about all the 6 different teams in our plot coverage, go have a look at them!

We hope the new Faerie Abilities aren't given you too many headaches. If you want to find out more about the Weak Bottled Faeries you need for these new Faerie abilities, our Cooking Pot guide has now been updated on how to obtain them.

It also seems the release of the new Faerie abilities caused many glitches on the site:

First off all there are glitches that deal with the trophy and awards that have been given out. TNT has stated about these on their message board:

Hello!  If you can read this then the lag has shown you mercy, if only for a moment. Huzzah!  If you attempted to collect veteran rewards soon after they launched, the current lag spike -- which is unrelated, coincidentally. It's a database issue and we're working on it! -- might have caused some rewards to go un-granted. We've coded in some extra fail-safes to prevent this from happening in the future, but if you were already affected then please check below for a solution to your particular issue:  - If you're missing all of the rewards, please visit the main Battledome page again later. As the lag subsides, your rewards will be granted. (https://www.neopets.com/dome)  - If you received one reward but are missing another, please submit a Battledome bug ticket with the information requested so we can grant you the rewards you're due!  TROPHY: First check to make sure you have wins in the old Battledome. If you do and you still didn't get the trophy, submit the ticket! Please make sure we have your username, as well as how many fights you've won in the old Battledome (so we can give you the proper trophy). You can find that stat on your user lookup.  NEOPOINTS: Check that you had learned at least one of the old abilities. (https://www.neopets.com/abilities.phtml) If you have at least one and still didn't get Neopoints, please include your username and the names of your Neopets with abilities in your ticket.  AVATAR: That was granted to everyone who had at least one win in the old BD. If you should have gotten it but didn't, please include your username and the number of wins you had in the old Battledome when you submit your ticket.  Sorry again for the trouble. We'll get your rewards granted ASAP as tickets come in and we're working to fix the issue causing the lag. (It might be a while. We'll keep you posted.)  - The Neopets Lag-Loathing Team

There are some more glitches though:

- Some people do not seem to be able to view the new abilities (they can open the Abilities page, but there aren't actually any abilities showing up on that page). Other people are able to view them, but not actually train for them.

- People who have used any of the weak bottled Faeries on their pets will find these have not been added to their availible blessing on the abilties page as well. So be carefull with blessing a Pet right now! 

- Some people seem to have their Neopet stuck in battle. They cannot feed or heal it, or finish a Faerie quest with it, although they are able to battle with this Neopet. Battling with the Pet is possible, but this doesn't make any changes to the status. Withdrawing at the status page doesn't work either, since the Neopet doesn't show up to be in battle there.

- At the moment, you will only get opponent only prizes in battledome 1-player fights, and no general prizes like codestones anymore. Have a look at our Battledome prizes page to see what these prizes are.

We hope tnt will pull out some coding Mynci's who will sort out all these glitches soon!

A new video about a new group has show up today. The new group, the Awakened, are a group of Zombies who are dying to join the party! They seem to hope there is cake inside the Obelisk, but who knows who they truly want?

TNT has just posted their news, and it seems that Aethia's Ability Academy is now supposed to be open for business. Unfortunately, the page won't load.

Aethia's Ability Academy! (BETA) - Aethia has opened shop and is now ready to teach your Neopets a plethora of new abilities for use in the Battledome... if you're strong enough! Some things to note: How does the new system work? In short, open new bottles to receive blessings and then use those blessings to train the abilities available to your Neopet based on their level. You can train one ability per tier! Any ability you train can be used during a fight using the new slot next to your weapons. Visit the Ability Academy to check it out. You may start finding stronger bottles that give out more blessings! The new ability system, just like the new Battledome, is in beta! Please report any bugs or irregularities! We may also need to change certain abilities or their blessing costs based on fight data and your feedback, to make sure things are balanced. If we change anything, we'll let you know! Old abilities are no more! If you had any of them, please be sure to visit the Battledome, where you will be compensated for your loss. Veteran Battledomers will also receive a trophy to commemorate the old Battledome. *moment of silence* There's more to learn, but that's the gist. The tutorial and Battledome FAQs will be updated as we work out the kinks. We hope you like the new system. Please continue to send us your feedback on all things Battledome!

And also the Battledome homepage will give you a neopoint compensation  for your old faerie abilities. You will get neopoints (seems up to 62,000 nps), an avatar and a trophy.

Another startling video was released.  The new team, The Seekers wants to catalog the obelisk and study its properties.  They have proposed an expedition to join in the fight for the obelisk.

Wisest of scholars, this society has collected on every subject in Neopia.  Even King Hagan goes to them for research.

The newest video was released at the Mysterious Obelisk.  It appears that the team of Brute Squad is all about muscle and want to take the obelisk by force of the toughest warriors.

The true strength of a warrior lies in his strength.  These warriors know the value of old-fashioned smashing and whacking.

There has been a third movie released at the Mysterious Obelisk.  The most recent group to join the race to claim the Obelisk is known as The Order of the Red Erisim.

Magic is best studied by experts, like these folks, so stand back.  You don't want to be on the wrong side of their experimental fireballs.

A second movie has appeared at the Mysterious Obelisk. This movie is titled The Sway. This seems to be the rival group to the Thieves Guild. Read all about this plot at SunnyNeo's Plot Guide.

Those pesky thieves just don't know how to heed a warning, do they? If you have seen (hopefully from afar) members of the Thieves Guild hanging around the Mysterious Dig Site, please, do not approach them! Tyrannia is still rather unstable, and we would advise against going near that obelisk, no matter what the thieves claim. *sigh* We just hope a brave group of Neopians will show up to stop them.

Also, it seems as by some glitch, for a short time an new challenger has appeared in the battledome, that seemed to be an upcoming challenger for the plot. Maybe it's time for training? Thanks goes to thethighris for telling us about this!

It appears that the digging at the Mysterious Dig Site has ended. Now a Mysterious Obelisk has appeared!

Mysterious Obelisk Behold, an obelisk... how very mysterious. How long has this been sleeping beneath Neopia's surface? Word has gotten around that something big has been discovered. Even now, forces are mobilising to investigate the obelisk... and perhaps, claim it for themselves.

Argh! You haven't been at the Mysterious Dig Site as of yet, have you? A strange obelisk has been unearthed and it is pulsating with an unsettling energy. Experts are advising all Neopians to stay away. We hope that nobody will suffer any ill effects from having been there...

We are convinced all this is leading to a plot. So we've decided to make a plot guide! We don't really know the name of the plot, so for time being we have referred to it as Tyrannia Plot Guide. Seeing the plot will involve a makeover of Tyrannia. We just wonder how Kanrik fits into all this...

In the plot guide so far:

• Background information with all clues given about the plot so far;
• a Walkthrough with all prizes on the Mysterious Dig Site and
• a guide on the NC Challenge: Scanning for Buried Relics

It has begun! It seems you are now able to dig at the Mysterious Dig Site. From what I have learned from the NeoBoards, it seems you can dig at 15 minute intervals and you get a prize from digging. A guide and more information about this will be out soon!

In the mean time, if you would like to join in the discussions of what is happening, there is a NeoBoard: Tyrannia: Mysterious Dig Site We are going to need lots of models for this event, so please help out by modeling for us!

We don't know what this all will mean yet, but it very much looks like this could be another hint for the upcoming plot! 

Update: Two new random events are going on now that seem to be related tp the  new Tyrannian area. It seemed they started to appear at the same time the new Tyrannian map spot appeared as well.

One of them is a varriation opn the old earthquake RE, which will shake your browser (it seems all the common browsers are effected) It seems you can get is RE on all kinds of pages, not just on Tyrannian ones.

Thanks goes to parody_ham who provided the picture we used, but so many people have informed us about this event that is is impossible to name them all, but thanks a lot everyone! You know who you are :)

Also, it seems some new bottled faeries has been released and battledome Abilities will return soon!

New Bottled Faeries! - Aethia is almost ready to open her new Ability Academy in the Battledome, but your Neopet won't be able to train without the proper blessings. Thankfully -- or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it -- Balthazar has recently stepped up his game and come up with some new Bottled Faerie technology. If you find one of these new bottles, you can open it and start collecting blessings to prepare!         This means the old bottles' magic is fading fast, but fear not. It's said that if you somehow combine them together, there may just be enough magic left to help you train.

All old bottled faeries are now retired. You can now mix three of them in the Cooking Pot to get one of the new bottled Faeries. It seems the new bottles will give out points you can spend in Aethia's new abilities feature. As soon as we know more about this, we will keep you updated!
