Chemistry For Beginners

General Info
Deep in the very scary part of the Haunted Woods, there is a very scary lab where a very scary Ixi Scientist is building up molecules, creating very scary compounds! (How scared are you now?) Chemistry for Beginners is a puzzle game where you are strategizing the placement of elements, creating combinations that give you points.

Since this is a site feature that gives out neopoint rewards and prizes, you may not play Chemistry for Beginners on your side accounts. For more information look at our side accounts guide.

How To Play
The object of the game is to strategize the placement of elements that are given to you, building various combinations. Each combination that you build earn you certain amount of points that will help you proceed to the next level. There is a catch: you are given only a certain amount of atoms to build with. Players can refer to a chart of what kinds of combination to build throughout the game, determining what compounds will help them proceed to the next level. Be careful– building unstable compounds, or running out of elements within a level can cause you to lose the game!

Understanding The Layout
It is vital to know what to expect when looking at the layout of the game. Below is a picture of what to expect when playing a level of Chemistry for Beginners.

Elements
There is a total of five elements to build with, each introduced during different levels of the game.
Neopium Tyrannium Slothite Faeryillium Krawkite

Combinations
When building each molecule, there are some that are safe to combine, and some that are extremely dangerous, causing the game to end. For safe combinations that work, points are earned. Below are the various combinations and when they appear in the game. Combinations do not need to be in a neat line to be activated. They can be in an "L" formation, "square" formation or "zig-zag" formation to be activated.

Strategies
There are a few known strategies when playing Chemistry for Beginners to take into consideration.

Memorizing Compounds
It is highly recommended to memorize the different compounds available when playing each level. This will help with looking ahead.

Looking Ahead
While you have an active element to place, you are given a sneak peak of other elements that are available to use later on. Use that to your advantage! For example, if you have an active Neopium (green element), but there are two slothite (red element) coming up, then you can prepare for them to make points. This can also help with clearing the board, which gets you an extra 5 points.

Placement Is Important
Other than preventing dangerous combinations from happening, it is helpful to know that if you have a Neopium (green element) next to a Faeryllium (gold element) and a Neopium (green element) is your active element to place, to place it three spaces away from the Faeryllium (gold element) to make room for that combination. Looking ahead can also help with this strategy to know what elements may come available.

Take Your Time
You are not timed to get to the points needed. You can take your time and map out your placements efficiently.
