April Fools Jokes

Why this page?
Every year on April 1st The Neopets Team tries to pull everyone's leg by changing something to the site that is rather radical. For example in 2006 they told everyone they would have to start paying taxes for every page load. We decided to start making a log of TNT's April fools jokes, starting April 1st, 2007. From the years before 2007 we've tried to gather some information to give you insights in the older jokes.

April 1st, 2014

In 2014, the retirement of Dr Death was announced. The Pound closed down (although Transfers still worked) while a replacement was sought.



So that the pets already in the pound wouldn't be left all alone in the meantime a new foster system was introduced:



You could get this event about once every hour, no matter how many pets where already on your account.




In the beginning of the day all you could do with these pets was to feed them, a few hours later it was also possible to let them play with toys, use medicine on them, groom and morph them.

Later in the day it was announced that four candidates to take over the pound had been selected and you could vote for your favorite.





At the next day all foster pets were released back into the pound and Dr Death returned to his duties.

The Neopian Pound poll results are in! Rosie is our winner. Since it appears that Dr_Death wasn't actually going anywhere, you can now find Rosie overseeing the Neopian Pound Neoboard. Hooray!
