Coltzan's Shrine

When King Coltzan III died, a shrine was build for him in the Lost Desert. One of King Coltzan's last wishes was that his crown was to be placed in the shrine, for its power will protect all of Lost Desert from harm. Rumors say that visiting the shrine might grant you items, Neopoints, or even pet stats! You can visit the Coltzan's Shrine every 13 hours for a chance to have King Coltzan III bless you. Your account must be 48 hours or older to receive prizes from the shrine.

On May 9th, 2024, the shrine converted to be mobile-friendly. Shortly after, on June 25th, 2024,  the shrine turned grey from The Void Within plot and a new prize pool was added that included grey items and special Lost Desert food items.

Visiting Coltzan's Shrine

Having reached the shrine, you will be presented with the following:
 

Coltzan's Shrine   Standing at the peak of a sand dune you see a tall monolith covered with strange hieroglyphics. It is the Shrine of the late King Coltzan III. His spirit still inhabits the shrine, and if you approach, he may grant you something to help you in your battles.   PETNAME says, "Im glad they brought the crown back!"     To watch the unveiling of the shrine, click here. IMPORTANT: Please do not create multiple accounts to visit the Coltzan's Shrine as it unbalances the game. You are limited to one account per person to visit here. Using multiple accounts simply to gain Neopoints is not allowed and will result in freezing.

Whenever you visit the shrine, your active pet will have various sayings. Below are a list of sayings collected.
 

After this we should go and get a smoothie! 'I hope this doesnt hurt!!!' Do you think he will make me stronger? I could do with some help, Coltzan! Was Coltzan a good king?? This sounds like fun! Poor old Coltzan... I'm hungry. I better get some rare items out of this!!!

I'm sure more intelligent Neopets would understand this shrine better than me! And to think, Malkus Vile would have got away with it if it wasnt for us pesky Neopets! They took long enough to make this shrine, it better be good! I'm not sure, do you want to play Gormball instead? I wonder if the shrine gives better prizes at certain times of day? I hear the shrine can give out one million Neopoints!!! Aren't there dubloons buried in the sand around here? Afterwards, do you fancy a game of Deckswabber?

 

Coltzan's Shrine Results

By clicking Approach the Shrine , you will be taken up to the shrine, and King Coltzan III appear and will (possibly) grant you something.

If King Coltzan III does not appear, then most likely you are not blessed and nothing will happen.

If you visit the shrine prior to 13 hours or at midnight NST when the daily resets, you will get the following result:

Other Results

The prizes that you can get from the shrine vary between Neopoints, stat increases, items, and more. All stat increases will be given to your active pet. 

When the shrine was first released, the prizes that were awarded were linked to the time at which you visited. However, this has since changed, and there's no relationship between the time you visit the shrine and the prize that is awarded.

Awww, nothing happened.	No stats, Neopoints or items are given.
You feel slightly richer!	You're given anywhere between 100 NP to 300 NP.
Some food from the Lost Desert appears in front of you.	You are given Desert Food. If stated that it is burnt, then it will primarily be Scorched Desert Food.
Some burnt food from the Lost Desert appears in front of you.
Coltzan has granted you a magical gem.	You are given magical items that can be used in the Battledome.
Coltzan has granted you a magical shield.
Coltzan has granted you a magical lens.
Coltzan has granted you a fine magical artifact.
PETNAME has gained 1 level(s)!	The stats of your active pet increases.
PETNAME feels faster!
PETNAME has gained 1 point(s) of defence!
PETNAME feels more intelligent!

You find a dubloon lying in the sand.	You are given various Dubloon Coins. The shinier the coin, the higher the Dubloon Coin. It ranges from One Dubloon to Fifty Dubloons.
You find a shiny dubloon lying in the sand.

You find a VERY shiny dubloon lying in the sand.
You find a SUPER shiny dubloon lying in the sand.
You find a very magestic plushie lying in the sand.	You are given a plushie.

Coltzan's Shrine in the Companion App

On October 1st, 2026, Coltzan's Shrine was made available on the Neopets: Companion App. Just like on-site, you can receive all rewards, including the avatar, when participating in the daily on the app. Premium Subscribers can try at the shrine twice when playing on the app. For more information about the Companion App, check out our Neopets: Companion App Coverage Guide. 
 

Prizes

Sparky

Sparky was the pet of a former Neopets artist that inspired the petpet Spardel. He passed on August 27, 2013, and so starting on August 28 of that year, people could visit the shrine to get the following Something Has Happened! event:

	Coltzan's beloved pet, Sparky, has ascended. In honour of Sparky, Coltzan has presented you with a winged likeness of his beloved Petpet.

 

The Void Within Plot

On June 25th, 2024, the shrine turned grey from The Void Within plot and a new prize pool was added that included grey items and special Lost Desert food items. It is currently unknown if you are able to receive these items after the plot has ended.
 
 

History of Coltzan's Shrine

King Coltzan III was a brave and just warrior who governed The Lost Desert with a kind heart and generous soul for many years. His legendary status as a noble defender of The Lost Desert grew as the tales of his heroic deeds spread throughout the land. There isn't a single Sakhmetian alive who has not heard the tale of how Coltzan defeated a savage Monocerous with his bare paws, or of the time Coltzan rescued Princess Lightfoot from the clutches of the nefarious Baron Nehlaki.

Once he died his crown was stolen from the Coltzan's shrine by Malkus Vile with the help of the infamous Meerca brothers. It was soon recovered and returned back to the Shrine.
