Many of you may have noticed the last few days have resulted in a mass amount of accounts being disabled.  Even a few of us here at SunnyNeo have also been affected including one of my sides, and another's main and side.  Many users sat at their computers to play Neopets, only to find they've been logged out, and passwords appeared invalid.  Looking at your account via a side/main - one that allows you to log in reveals the account has been disabled.

It is easy to suddenly get upset or panic.  However, Neopets has always disabled accounts when they are compromised.  This is to keep your account safe from anyone or anything that may of found its way inside.

There is talk only among users at this point as to the cause.  Some think its a continuation of the 2012 leak, others blame recaptcha, some the reset password link, and others think its just a new glitch.  At this point, it is unclear exactly what happened.

Sifting through many boards, it appears users are starting to get their accounts returned.  However, know that there are many users trying to get their accounts back and this will take some time for them to sort out.

You can Submit a Ticket or you can email Neopets at [email protected] and provide as much information as you can.

Also from reading through boards, the change password reset neomail may be glitched - whether it caused the issue, that its not changing the password, or people aren't receiving the email.

To keep safe for now, avoid places requiring recaptcha such as Userlookups and Petlookups.  When the password reset is working properly once again, we suggest you do so.  Change your pin when you can.  Keep records of things as you play day to day, old passwords or emails connected to that account.  Take screenshots, record important dates, know who your neofriends are, items in SDB, Closet, what pets you adopted/transfered/pounded, etc.  So if this happens again you have a built-up case.

And I say this as one among you, hold on tight to your patience.  Neopets seems to be aware and working on returning things as they can.  I personally bought a plushie of my side pets and have them in my inventory for viewing and will let my pets play with them when they are returned.

Update :

We have been seeing users posting on boards. As well as notifying us that there account's are now being returned to them. So hold on there everyone! Stay strong and have patients. You should be getting a reply from TNT and/or your accounts back soon.

​As you can see the TNT staff member Alice is working hard right now to return accounts to users.  Just need to be patient and wait as TNT goes through the mountain of tickets and e-mails they have received in regards to this issue.
