If you are lucky enough to visit the Magma Pool and find the guards sleeping, you should be able to paint a pet Magma.  This appears to be random.

Also, there's a worm collecting activity happening in Moltara.  First, visit Lampwick's to get your Empty Lantern.
Then start collecting worms around Moltara.  There are ten known colours: : red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white, black (shadow), rainbow, and pink.  Once you have collected one worm of each colour, you can take them to the Dark Cave.  Navigate through the cave and you'll find some Red Moltite, which can be combined with the other items found in Moltara at Tangor's Workshop.  If you return your lamp to Lampwick's, you'll get a wearable lantern.
