TNT has mentioned they'd be deleting a lot of old, inactive accounts in the near future soon, but now we have more info about on how soon this will be. 
  According to an e-mail that has been send to owners of accounts that'll be deleted soon, the purge will take place around August 9th:

Hi user, We're sending you this email because you haven't logged in to your Neopets.com account in a while. Unfortunately, that means your account will be deleted on or around 2010-08-09, along with your Neopets, your items, and any other account information. Your Username: user here Your Neopets: neopets here If you wish to keep your Neopets account (hooray!), all you need to do is log in to https://www.neopets.com with your username and PW before 2010-08-09 and your account will be safe. If you'd like your account to be deleted (boo!), you don't need to do anything more. It will be deleted and we'll miss you dearly! We hope to see you in Neopia soon! The Neopets Team

It seems this purge will happen to all accounts that have not been used for two years or longer. If you have an old account and you still know it's password, be sure to log into it as soon as possible.
