You may recall the Soup Kitchen had a few changes after getting the page converted back on August 12th, primiarly related to donations. In the news TNT stated:

Stay consistent with your help and your kindness might even be rewarded!

A few weeks later on August 25th people started winning various items from donating. And today someone won an all new avatar. Requirements at this time are not fully known, but it's possible the news was misleading as some people have donated consistently daily and have yet to get it.
