The Soup Kitchen

The Soup Kitchen opened its doors on March 8th, 2000 (Y2), where the Soup Faerie provides free food to all Neopets in need. This kind-hearted Faerie and her kitchen resides in the Neopian Marketplace of Neopia Central. As of August 12th, 2026, to be eligible to receive food from the Soup Faerie, your total income between your bank account, shop till, and what you're physically carrying on-hand is less than 100,000 NP. The change from 3,000 NP to 100,000 NP was to match the economic flow of Neopia. It is safe to use the Soup Kitchen on side accounts.





 

Receiving Food

When you visit the Soup Kitchen, you will be greeted by the Soup Faerie. If you have less than 100,000 NP between your bank account, shop till, and what you are carrying, you will be able to receive free food for your Neopets. 
 

The Soup Kitchen   If you don't have many Neopoints, you can always come to the Soup Kitchen to get free food for your pets. The Soup Kitchen is kept running by donations from the Money Tree, so many sure one day when you are rich that you donate!!! Remember, the Soup Faerie knows how much is in your Bank AND your Shop Till :) Here are your Neopets : PETNAME Hunger : very hungry PETNAME Hunger : hungry Ahh! You don't seem to have many Neopoints at all... click on the pet's picture to feed them.

 

You can click your pet as many times as they need food. Each time your Neopet has been fed, they will share various responses of gratitude and their hunger will slowly increase towards fullness. Once they are full, they will state that they cannot eat anymore.

For every time you feed your pet soup from the Soup Kitchen, they share a response of gratitude. Responses do not correlate with specific soup flavors and are shared at random.

Unable to Receive Food

If you happen to have more than 100,000 NP between your bank account, shop till, and whatever you are carrying, you will not be able to receive free food for your Neopets. Instead, the Soup Faerie will ask for you to consider donating. She even mentions that there are some treats for those who donate generously.
 

The Soup Kitchen   In the Neopian Marketplace, there is a very large cauldron of soup! The Soup Faerie looks after it and makes sure there is always a plentiful supply for hungry pets. If you don't have many Neopoints, you can always come to the Soup Kitchen to get free food for your pets. The Soup Kitchen is kept running by donations from the Money Tree, so make sure one day when you are rich that you donate!!! Remember, the Soup Faerie knows how much is in your Bank AND your Shop Till :) Oh dear! You have 66,748,029 Neopoints! Only really poor neopets (under 100,000 NP) can get handouts at the Soup Kitchen. The Soup Kitchen is now accepting donations! Special Occassions

Every year during the Faerie Festival, the Soup Faerie will lift its wealth restriction, allowing all Neopians to feed their pet no matter how many Neopoints you have. 
 

The Soup Kitchen    For the Festival, The Soup Kitchen has received extra dontations and will help regardless of your prosperity.  Bring your hungry pet forward and let it eat to its heart's content. :) In the Neopian Marketplace, there is a very large cauldron of soup! If you don't have many Neopoints, you can always come to the Soup Kitchen to get free food for your pets. Remember, the Soup Faerie knows how much is in your Bank AND your Shop Till :)  But do remember to donate at the Money Tree! Your donations will help feed poor and hungry pets even after the festival is over.

Strategies

There are a couple strategies to use that can help you get the avatar.

Trading Post
Create a series of trades on your  side account and place the highest number of Neopoints from your main account. Keep creating trades until you have less than 100,000 NP in your bank account, shop till, and on-hand. The Trading Post can last for a few days, so this will allow you time to keep feeding your pets and randomly recieve the avatar. Dedicate Donations
The minimum amount of Neopoints needed to donate for a random chance at the avatar is 5,000 NP. You can choose to dedicate a certain amount per day or week to donate to the Soup Kitchen. This is considered a Neopoint-sink strategy.
