Daily Dare

What is Daily Dare?
Daily Dare is a recurring Neopets site event that takes place in the Games Room. It was first introduced in March of 2007, when it ran for one month. If you did not participate in previous years Daily Dare challenges, don't worry! This new round of Daily Dare is independent of the one that took place previously, and it is very fun and easy to participate in. In 2007 Daily Dare was mainly hosted by sponsoring companies, while in 2008 Daily Dare was themed off of a more intricate story (read the story or watch the video).

This year AAA postponed Daily Dare until summer this year, but then forgot about it and went off to Game Design Camp with Lulu. So we have AAA's classmate Chadrick Woolsworth Tuffington IV otherwise known as Chadley as the new top opponent to beat.

If you want a prize, whichever opponent you challenge is the one you need to beat. However, unlike the 2007 Daily Dare, if you accidentally challenge Chadley but are unable to beat his score, you can still get credited for beating Abigail! If you send a score that is higher than Abigail's while trying to beat AAA, it will automatically count as a win over Abigail unless you eventually are able to beat Chadley's score for that game. If you challenge Chadley but only beat Abigail you will not get your prize until the end of the event. You have unlimited tries for the day, even if you already send your score three times that day, you can still complete a daily dare challenge, you will not rewarded any more neopoints though.

Remember that the cutoff time for sending scores is 12:40AM NST. If open your game window before 12:40, then you won't be able to send your score after 12:40- you'll just get an error message. To prevent this, make sure to close your game window before 12:40 and then reopen it after 12:40. TNT put this cutoff time in place so that people can't just keep the same game window open for days at a time. This cutoff time effects every game, every day, all year round.

Winning Prizes
Of course, this event wouldn't be as awesome without the prizes. This challenge rewards you generously with different game related items. You can obtain a item prize each day by beating either opponent. Beating Chadley gets you a better item prize than from beating Abigail. Aside from that, the prizes are the same for everyone for each game. Everyone gets the same prizes though, depending on who you beat. Once you beat either opponent's scores, you have to manually go back to the main Daily Dare page to manually collect your reward. Simply click the little image of the giftbox adjacent to where the score you just beat is listed, and a prize will be rewarded to you. If you send a score and the gift is still faded and therefore you can't click it, you've done something wrong. Make sure you didn't forget to click the button to challenge either Chadley or Abigail for the day, and also make sure you sent the right score. At the end of the challenge, extra prizes are also awarded depending on the manner in which you completed the event.




Double Dare
Double Dare is a special challenge during Daily Dare. To take the Double Dare, you must challenge Chadley and match or beat his score. If you succeed, you'll receive Chadley's and Abigail's prizes for the day! If you fail, however, you'll receive nothing. There will be one or two double dares per week.


Trophies
Along with marvelous prizes, you can also get a trophy for participating. For 2013 the trophies look like this:

Gold � Beat Chadley at each challenge. Silver � Complete all challenges before the end of Daily Dare, beating Chadley at least once. Bronze � Beat Abigail at each challenge. Participant � Beat or match at least one Chadley or Abigail score by the end of the event.

Whether or not you participate every day does not play into the trophy tiers.

Important Tip: If you're not sure if you can get the AAA score, do not challenge either Abigail or AAA right away. Play the game first and then if you do manage to get AAA's score, minimize the game window, click the button to challenge him, and then send the score.

NC Mall Challenges

Team Challenge
For Team Challenges, pair up with a Neofriend and then challenge Chadley/AAA or Abigail together. You can both win an extra prize if you both defeat your opponent. To complete the Team Challenge, you'll need to visit the Team Challenge hub. Team Challenges will be made available each Friday through Sunday, beginning Friday. From the Team Challenge hub, follow the prompts to choose your opponent, pick your Neofriend partner, and send an invitation. You must challenge Chadley/AAA or Abigail from the Team Challenge hub in order to accept the Team Challenge. You might also be asked to accept an invitation from a Neofriend. Once you and your partner beat or match Chadley's/AAA's or Abigail's score (depending upon whom each of you has agreed to challenge), you will be awarded a Team Challenge bonus prize in addition to the regular Chadley/AAA or Abigail prize for that day. You and your Neofriend will have to best Chadley's/AAA's or Abigail's score prior to midnight the following Monday in order to qualify for the Team Challenge bonus prize. Tips for Spellseeker: When using numbers, you must form chains that increase or decrease by the amount listed above the board. You start with 1, so a sample chain could be 3-2-1-2-1-2-3-2-3. When using letters, you must spell words. When using symbols, you form chains by clicking on adjacent tiles that have matching symbols. It's easiest to play in numbers mode. When you see any golden tiles, try to incorporate them into long chains. The longer the chain, the better your score. The gold tiles act as a bonus. Also try to include slime tiles in the chains, otherwise they will slowly work their way to the bottom. Don't allow the slime tiles to reach the bottom. If that happens the game is over. If there are too many slime tiles in later rounds, there is a vial next to the wizard. It will fill up with gold. Click this vial - only when it is full- and all the slime tiles will be removed from the screen. The vial refills itself everytime gold tiles are used up in chains. If the vial is full from one round, it will carry over into the next round, so there's no need to worry about it having to refill again. At level 1, make a chain of 2700 points at first. This this is the highest score you can get without finishing the level. When the tiles refill with a gold tile, try to make a chain as long as possible with it. If there's no gold tile, restart and try again. In this way, you'll be able to get a lot of points during the first level. If there's more then one gold tile, try to connect those for even more points. At the start of each level press shuffle a few times until one or more gold tiles appear. Don't worry about the slimey times and try to include them and the gold tiles in your chain.

Today is a Team Challenge! To take part in the Team Challenge go to the Team Challenge page. Tips for Ice Cream Machine: The game code strawberryvanillachocolate gives you an extra life when typed before the start of a level. One use per game. The yellow scoop with a cherry on top is worth 100 points and the blue fish scoop is worth 250 points. A large amount of your points will come from collecting these scoops, so try hard to collect them any time you see them. Extra lives are important- the pink scoop with the heart on it will give you an extra life, so collect it whenever you can. Collecting the red scoops causes the ice cream to slow down. This powerup will stack- the more you collect, the slower the ice cream will go. This can be helpful, but make sure not to slow things down too much, especially in later levels, or you're likely to get stuck behind walls of slow-moving ice cream that you can't escape from. The purple scoop which has a small outline of a chia on it will cause your character to shrink down, making it easier for you to dodge ice cream. It's very useful to have, and this powerup also stacks, meaning your character will get continually smaller as you collect more of these purple scoops. The green scoop causes the ice cream to speed up- you don't want this! You also don't want to collect the light blue scoop which has an outline of a chia on it- it will make you larger, and therefore it will be harder for you to dodge the ice cream. Both of these powerups will also stack. If you collect the cherry scoop, the fish scoop, the strawberry bomb, the shield, or the extra life, it will cancel all of your stacked powerups, so be aware of this. The strawberry bomb is fairly useless, and the shield only lasts a short while, so you may not want to collect either of these two scoops if you're under the effects of good powerups. Attempt to stay around the middle of the screen so that you don't get trapped against a wall. Don't move around too much. You can usually stay still most of the time in the first few levels, only making slight movements left and right. Be careful not to right click with your mouse, as this will cause your game to automatically end!

Tips for Escape to Kreludor: The game code empulse destroys ships within a block radius of your ship. One use per game. Make sure to pick up the purple gems, as they are worth 50 points. Also get the white gems, as they give an extra life. The grey ships will crash into each other or when run into a debris, blowing themselves up. Try to lead them around until they crash into each other or a pile of debris. The red ships will avoid crashing, so you have to get the red ship next to you and shoot it. The white comet cannot be destroyed. If you find yourself in a tough spot, head for one of the portals in the corners. It will transport you to a random spot on the board.

Tips for Freaky Factory: Try to fill up all the vats no matter which colour you need next, it will improve your chances at the bonus for consecutive plushies. Keep the Grundo from stealing your plushies by clicking on him. Do your best to aim the paint blobs, overfilling vats and splashing are your enemies. Click the soap blob when needed to clean up your waste. The Angel blob fills up whichever vat it lands in, so aim carefully. The Glowing blob upgrades all the plushies on the belt, this is a very good thing. The Clock blob adds time, this is good. The multicoloured blob with electrons around it will fill all your vats, don't worry about aiming for this one. When starting the game, try filling up the two vats you don't need for the first plushie before you fill up the needed colour. Once in a while, a paint blob with an angry face might appear. Don't click on this one, since it will only make your dirt meter go up.

The vampire Cybunnies take several shots, so you'll probably have to shoot them a couple times, turn around and fly away, then turn back around and shoot again. The skulls give extra health, so pick them up if you need to. If you get hit by Hubrid Nox's fireball, you won't be able to shoot for a while, so turn around and fly in the other direction until the effect wears off.

Tips for Shenkuu Tangram: Press the left and right arrow keys or the space bar to rotate the shapes. Press the up arrow key to flip the shapes. You'll often have to press the up arrow key to flip the light blue shape in order to make it fit. Play on normal mode. You actually get more points on normal mode than on hard mode, because you get a time bonus on normal mode. Basically, hard mode is a lot harder and gives less points. Play on Low quality, it will show you where some of the pieces need to be placed, which makes it much easier for you. If you like, you can click quickly on each piece as soon as it appears, so that you'll have all the pieces in reserve, and can then start with whichever one of the pieces you want. Just play the levels several times until you memorise where each piece goes in each puzzle. Then you'll be able to finish puzzles quickly and get a larger time bonus. Remember, there's a time limit, so if you're having trouble placing one piece, just move on to the next one. Memorise the figures and how to put the pieces of the puzzle. In order to get a high score you need to put them away instantly, you don't have time to think. When the level starts, immediately click on the piece of the puzzle that falls down. Click quickly after each other so that all the pieces are put into the box at the bottom left site. You should have all the pieces there at the start of the level. Put the big pieces in the puzzle before you put the small pieces. Don't use firefox, use Opera instead, firefox will make the time counter go much faster than it should be going, you don't want that.

Tips for Crisis Courier: The game code kingaltador gives you one extra life. One use per game. Type the code at the very start of the game, before any enemies come up. Remember to click on your left mouse button to switch between the fire and snow Yooyu. The fire Yooyu kills the red enemies and is able to collect the red money bags, and the snow Yooyu kills the blue enemies and is able to collect the blue money bags. The key to this game is memorising the levels. Play several times until you remember what's coming up, so you'll be prepared to switch to the correct colour or to collect the money bags. The winged fruit will turn you into a faerie Yooyu, which causes each money bag you collect to be worth more points, and also allows you to collect both red and blue money bags. However, you can't kill any enemies while in faerie form. If you've got a lot of enemies but few to no money bags coming up, collecting the winged fruit would be a bad idea (this is one instance where memorising the levels comes in, so that you know when to collect it and when not to.) The red fig will turn you into a mutant Yooyu, allowing you to kill enemies of either colour. You can collect the regular yellow money bags while in mutant form, but the red and blue money bags will kill you. Most of the times when a fruit appears, it appears a a strategic point where you can use them, like a line of red and blue enemies going with the fig and a collection of money bags going with the winged fruit. However, avoid collecting the winged fruit almost at the end of the second level, almost before you bump into into the first winged enemies. This time, collecting the fruit will probably make you lose a life instead of helping you. Be careful- practically everything in this game kills you. Touching any walls or structures kills you (except the big post at the end of each level, which you can pass through.) Touching the enemies kills you if you're not in the proper form. Touching red or blue money bags kills you if you're not in the proper form. Touching any enemies kills you if you're in faerie form. Don't take any risks and do not to try collect everything. Don't go for the money bags or enemies when they are placed between two walls, and don't go for a row of red and blue enemies unless you're in the mutant Yooyu form. The few points you'll gain from this are not worth losing a life over. If your computer is lagging a lot, try playing on a smaller size and lower quality. Also, this game is a pain for touch-pad users; if you happen to have a normal mouse lying around somewhere, make use of it. If you're trying to beat AAA and you already lost a life on the first level, restart the game. You'll be needing your lives later on.

Today is a Team Challenge! To take part in the Team Challenge go to the Team Challenge page. Tips for The Great Qasalan Caper: Use your mouse, not your keyboard to play this game. The game code caperiffic gives you 20 seconds extra. Speed is key to this game, the faster you complete the level, the more bonus points you'll receive. Just try and get the statues down as fast as possible. Try and collect the green gem, its worth 50 points. Landing on the gebs will create a large vertical way down, perfect for tossing all your statues down quickly. The levers will change around your crates. Avoid them if you can because they will most likely slow you down. Uunless you're stuck with a row full of creates, then go for the levers to try and create an opening.

Tips for Swarm - The Bugs Strike Back: Try not to miss any bugs! You will get more points for consecutive hits. Always keep an eye on the fireballs and make sure to dodge them. Power-ups to avoid: Grow (dark blue) - doubles the size of your tank; Slow (purple) - will slow you down; Laser (white-blue) - lets you clear an entire row of bugs, but the points for this are minimal. Try and hit the big green bug, especially when you have the slugs powerup. It will be much easier to hit then. The first hit get you 20 points, the second 10, the third 5, the fourth 2 and the fifth 1. After that you will not get any points for it. So try hit it at least 3 times.

Tips for Kookia: Play in Hard mode to gain more points. You need to collect at least three Ghost Kookiths to unlock the bonus round. Once you've unlocked it, ignore them unless they're easy to collect. You will earn more points for each Kookith collected if you collect them in "chains". Try to position your mouse in front of a chain to grab them in a row quickly. If you wait a second before collecting the first group of Kookiths, you can string the second group on to the same chain for more points. When the meter fills up, you can press the space bar to slow down the Kookiths. This also works in the bonus rounds. The Kookiths appear in the same order each time for a scene, but the scenes are random.

Today is Double Dare! Tips for Sorcerers' Skirmish: Play on easy mode, the points are the same no matter what. There are only 3 rounds. You get 2350 for defeating all the enemies per round, 2350 * 3 rounds = 7050. If you can manage to beat the round in less then 30 turns you get bonus points as well. The white Xweetoks are the only pieces that can take out the fire Scorchios, so make sure you have at least one of those left or you will not be able to take out all the opponents and get all the points. Sometimes there are powerups on the board. Red gives you 1 attack, Blue gives you 1 defence, Green gives you 1 speed. You have to go to the spot they are on to get them on that character, once you pick it up, it will be gone. You can only have 1 buff on you at a time. If you pick up a 2nd one, it will replace the 1st buff. Once the character has been used, the buff will go away. Take it slow and think your moves out, theres no time limit, and you will have more luck getting the 7050 for defeating all enemies, rather then trying to do it 30 turns or less.

Tips for Attack of the Revenge: The game code blackpawkeet gives an extra life when used on level 3 or higher. One use per game. In the beginning of each level, you will have some downtime - time when no pirates are attacking. In the earlier levels, you should also have some pirate-free time after defeating 2 or 3 of them. In the later levels, you need to defeat 4-7 pirates before you have a short break. During these breaks, take time to reload your cannons and move to the center of the first plane. If you lose lives because of the pirates you can lose all of them in a single level. So if you have reached the point where your fingers can't keep up with all the game's elements, it's time to let your cannons catch fire. From Levels 2-5, try to hit every pirate with a cannonball, if possible. After level 6, you should start defeat pirates in the order in which they appear and don't worry so much about hitting them with cannonballs - unless you happen to spot Captain Scarblade.

Today is a Team Challenge! To take part in the Team Challenge go to the Team Challenge page. Tips for Goparokko: Play the game on the easiest mode. It may reward less points than hard, but unless you're an expert at the game it's much easier to get to a higher score on this mode. Slow and steady wins the race. Try to combine the 4x and 2x blocks together for extra points. The dynamite block destroys all other blocks of the same colour, the timer block will give you more time. Use the dynamite block as often as you can, not only does this give more points, with one colour less for a short time, it's easier making combo's. Combining a dynamite block with one or more 2x or 4x blocks will give you more extra points. Combo's with a dynamite block and at least two times a 4x block or more are rare to make but very much more with! Try to form the squares in the least amount of time possible, saving you time. If a block with a lock on it appears, try to get rid of it as soon as you can, as more will appear, and you don't want to be stuck with multiple locked blocks later on in the game. Always look for new block squares you can form. If you're about to solve an easy combination, first look around for a few seconds for some combinations. In easy mode, the timer refills itself basically all the way to the top every time you solve a puzzle, so there's really no rush. Blocks with the hour glass will give you extra time.

Tips for Jubble Bubble: Always target the Jubbles before the dubloons or shells, which are the bonus items. You will lose a life if you do not catch the Jubbles. Whenever you have the chance, go for the dubloons. They are worth five times the amount of the shell bonus item, and more than twice as much as the Jubbles. It is actually easier to send the bubbles on up to the items and Jubbles the higher up they are! Shoot the bubbles up as high as possible. As soon as you fire one bubble, instantly begin charging up a second. If you have a break, swim to the middle so you are equidistant from both sides.

Today is Double Dare! Tips for Magma Blaster: Hitting the magma blocks in full target will give you 4 points instead of 2. In order to get to the bonus level you must hit all magma blocks for 4 points. If you want to get a high enough score you will need to get at least 3 bonus rounds If you hit a magma block for 2 points rather than 4 points, you might still be able to get the bonus level by hitting extra blocks. The only way to get extra blocks is to wait with shooting the last block until the volcano spits out one or more extra blocks. In order to know when that is, count the blocks you've already shot. First level you need 10, then 15 and so on. You have to use the number keys above the letters on your keyboard. The ones at the numpad won't work.
