The Reserve Barracks
On July 8th, 2024, the Reserve Barracks opened its doors to Neopians to battle a series of void creatures as a way to help! In the beginning of the plot, you could earn a total of 200 points in the Reserve Barracks. However, at the start of Act II, a maximum number of points can be earned between all activities per chapter, ranging up to 3,000 points in Act III and 4,000 points in Act IV.
The Reserve Barracks Walkthrough
To reach the Reserve Barracks of the Battledome, you would go to the main plot hub and click "Battle" to find a link.
Those ready to battle will be welcomed by Torakor, one of the twelve protectors of Altador.
Good to see another sharpened sword at the ready!
I'll be posting deployment orders for reserve troops below as the Defenders of Neopia bring word of new lands being attacked. Our goal is to provide support to the military or local militia of each land in defending their lands from these shadowy attackers. Report back here if you notice new lands being targeted or powerful enemies appearing. We may just need your assistance!
If you would like to help out but don't have the stomach for combat, the Neopian Hospital is starting a volunteer program as well to help those caught up in the attacks or adjusting to being greyed out permanently.
Battle Updates from Torakor
03rd June, Y28Just as it seemed we were on the precipice of felling the leviathan of the Void, the creature attacked us with a renewed fury. As the beast grew more and more enraged, the cavity on his chest began to glow and pulse with greater intensity until it discharged a burst of Void Essence. The mauve energy seemed to rejuvenate Vocivus, closing up the wounds we worked so hard to inflict. I know our swords are dulling and our joints are weary, but this battle isn’t over yet. Now is the time to rally, my fellow Neopians. If we don’t stop this terror from the Void here and now, Neopia as we may know it may be lost forever!
02nd June, Y28
The final battle is upon us. The Void Beast has been unleashed and unfettered, and now threatens to devour all light and vibrancy from Neopia. All who are able must stand against it, for its defeat is the only way to steer this chapter of Neopia’s history toward its conclusion!
26th May, Y28
At last, Drakara herself steps forth onto the battlefield. A wicked Faerie of unimaginable cunning, she is the source of all the misery and chaos that has recently fallen over Neopia. Wielding combined powers of Grey and Void, channelled through her weapons and reinforced with her own Faerie magic, she is the most dangerous foe we have faced yet—but there is still hope. We shall give our all to this battle alongside Nyx and the newly-empowered Iridesia, and we will emerge victorious!
19th May, Y28
From dust and void, the Dark Faerie Drakara has summoned servantile constructs to aid her. These skeletal warriors, armed with axes and magic, now impede our heroes from reaching out to Baelia and rescuing her from the miasma Drakara has cast over her. Dangerous as they may be, their fighting style and weapons are familiar, strangely like legendary duelists from tales of Altador’s past… And so their ilk is nothing we haven’t seen in Neopia before. Thus, we shall go forth and fight to protect those who wish to save us all!
12th May, Y28
Our efforts to defeat the Malevolent Being have not been in vain! Though they remain standing, they have fled from Altador to engage Faerieland instead – a meagre success compared to the threat that has now been summoned, but success nonetheless. Now we face an unknown foe of unprecedented size and scale: a creature emanating with Void energy, rising up from the ground to smash every obstacle standing in its overseer’s path. Our strategists are advising caution when facing this beast, as we know not yet what dangers fill its arsenal—but we can not back down from the fight now!
05th May, Y28
The fiend placing Neopia in peril has finally made their appearance. Though their face remains veiled and their figure cloaked, there is no mistaking the awesome power radiating from them. Void and Grey energies flow from either hand, but one gets the sense that those are not the only tricks this force of malevolence brings to bear… We must be alert in the face of this new enemy, and prepare to fight beyond their end!
28th April, Y28
A new foe has revealed itself in Altador! Striking faster than lightning, these canine combatants boast fierce fangs and ferocious instincts. Decimating all within their path, the beasts utilise the void energy surrounding them to augment their defences and bolster their claws and fangs. They will not be satiated with destruction alone, and must be approached carefully when engaged. As Luxinia and Baelia valiantly fight within the Grey Painter’s mind to part the clouds of his memory and bring him the clarity he seeks, madness threatens to overtake the land and all within it. We must all fight to drive it back!
15th September, Y27
The harbinger of the Shades’ destruction has joined the fray! Wielding augmented weapons of unprecedented might, Vira’s vitriol and spite are unmatched. Proceed with caution when fighting this wily warrior—nobody knows exactly what tricks she’s hiding up her sleeve, and reports of her true power have yet to reach the front lines…
11th September, Y27
Led by Vira and the Grey Painter, malevolent forces have borne down upon Altador. Reports are flooding in about covetous Shades and twisted, void-touched versions of Sefira sweeping through the streets decimating everything in their path. While heroic figures from all over Neopia have gathered to fend them off, their assault is unrelenting—the strongest amongst us now are called upon to prevent their destruction!
04th August, Y27
Sources say that a heated battle is currently underway in the heart of Neopia Central. Mandatory evacuation orders have been instated to ensure residents remain safe during the conflict, and Defenders of Neopia are in the midst of clearing the area. If you still have the stamina to fight on, help hold the line so civilians can escape!
November 9th, Y26 (This is to signal the pause)
Although these hordes of shades may seem endless, our efforts have not been in vain! Our scouts indicate that we have made a substantial dent in their forces. Recent reports suggest that our enemies are taking time to regroup. Take this time to rest your weary muscles and prepare yourself for the next assault.

Vira and the Grey Painter are now waging war on Neopia Central. Reports indicate that the cursed Acara has summoned previously unsighted shades to sow chaos across the Neopian Plaza. Even seasoned battle veterans are advised to approach the area cautiously, as first responders warn that these new creatures are exceedingly dangerous!
28th August, Y26
Vira and her grey companion have launched a surprise attack on the waterfront town of Kiko Lake, sending the inhabitants scrambling for cover! Despite initial reservations surrounding a rumoured cache of valuables that Team Kiko Lake collected under the guise of donations over the years, valiant warriors from across Neopia are turning up in droves to defend the small community of Kikos. Will you be one of them?
10th July, Y26
Reports are flooding in that Vira summoned more shades to cause mayhem as she left the scene in Brightvale. Although she and the grey Yurble involved in the attack have vanished without a trace, they left behind numerous shades prowling about. Innocent Neopians are still in the process of evacuating the area and being caught in the crossfire. Ready yourself and deploy to Brightvale immediately!
08th July, Y26
Vira, the cursed Acara, was spotted alongside a mysterious Yurble commanding an army of otherworldly creatures they have been overheard referring to as shades. After receiving word of this shadowy swarm wreaking havoc across the land of Brightvale, Torakor has already begun mobilising reserve troops to the erudite kingdom. If you have the strength to help defend Neopia, now is the time to wield it!
