The battle against the voidlings ravages on, after it began on July 8th, 2024. Injured pets from these battles seek medical attention. Dr. G is in charge of the Volunteer Centre at the Neopets Hospital. You can sign up one of your pets to volunteer at the hospital.

The Volunteer Centre activity is optional, but it's an easy way to obtain plot points with minimal effort. Each shift last 6 hours, rewarding 20 points. In theory you could have up to 4 shifts (or 80 points) per pet per day. This activity was intended for Neopians who didn't want to participate in the battledome component, but you can still compete both for maximum amount of points.

Signing Up

Signing up one of your pets is pretty straightforward, visit the Volunteer Centre and click the "Join Shift" buttons for the parts you'd like to join. Battle for Brightvale II was not available until the second day, roughly requiring at least 6 shifts.

After clicking the "Join Shift" button, you can select the pet you would like to volunteer at the clinic.

After confirming your selection, you'll be greeted with a message thanking you for the help. You will not receive the reward or plot points until the shift has completed.

Completing Your Shift

Once the shift ends after 6 hours, you can click on "Complete" to end the shift and receive your item prize and 20 plots points. Afterwards, you can signup your pet again for a new shift!

When you are selecting a pet to volunteer for a shift, you might see a small icon on the bottom right of your pet's picture:

	A Sword: indicates the pet is currently in the battledome .
	A Blue ID Badge: indicates the pet is currently volunteering for a shift in the hospital.
	A Bone in a Purple Bowl: indicates the pet is hungry, you should feed them or let them stay in the Neolodge.
	A Golden Heart: indicates the pet is sick. You can bring them to the Healing Springs or find a cure for them.
	A Red Heart: indicates the pet is inured. You can bring them to the Healing Springs or give them a healing potion to boost their health points (HP).

After your pets have spent 72 hours volunteering, or roughly after completing 12 shifts, you will be rewarded with the "Devoted Caretaker" avatar. This is automatically rewarded to you after clicking the "Complete" button when the pet's shift is done.
